(336 reviews)

Jose Cuervo has been making tequila for over 250 years with the same experience, craftmanship, and recipes that have been handed down generation through generation. In 1758, José Antonio de Cuervo y Valdés was given a writ of land ownership by King Fernand VI to plant agave on his lands for producing tequila. In 1795, King Carlos IV issued a royal decree in Spain granting Jose Maria Guadalupe Cuervo y Montana the first license to produce and distribute tequila. First-place medal given to Jose Cuervo Tequila at the second Exposición de Las Clases Productoras, exhibition held in Guadalajara in May 1880. Jose Cuervo was the first tequila brand to bottle tequila individually, making it easier to transport the tequila to meet booming demand in Mexico and across the border. Just like Champagne can only be made in France, or Scotch can only be made in Scotland, as of 1974, in order for a spirit to be called "tequila" it had to be made in certain states of Mexico.

Made from 100% Weber blue agave aged for 8-12 years and harvested at their peak the liquid is double distilled, and a special selection of white tequilas is blended together for added complexity and character. The clean, balanced taste with hints of sweet fruit and pepper is perfect sipped neat, on the rocks, as a shot or in a cocktail. I recommend it, It is a party must.

('22) IC: This 1800 Silver is something else, let me just say this. My daughter let me try this over ice with lime and oh my. Even though she put lime inside, I tasted on the back end a note of citrus✓ a hint of agave✓ it wasn't as sweet as she alleged ✓ It is strong to me, but I tried it once✓ Being a wine cooler kind of woman, it was different. I enjoyed it thoroughly and as a person who recycled, even reused this pretty bottle. If you're into Tequila, this would be well worth your money and taste✓. Sold at most stores that carry liquor. I would recommend anyone to try it. Grab some fresh limes.

I’ve tried this several time. But it wasn’t for me. As soon as I tried drinking it had to spit it out because of how bad it was. I prefer the cristalino or añejo, they much better. This was just wast for me.

1800 ways to get ya lit
15 September 2022

Alright, I don't know why Target is asking me to review this. But y'all already know...1800 is what it is. It might give you a headache, and it might not. Honestly it's all up in the air. Truth be told, it might give you a stomach ache, or you might be lit lit. I mean go for it, be blessed and have a ball....or not.

Great Christmas present

I recieved this as a Chrustmas gift. I am a 76 year old woman and I find this to be a very smooth sipping tequila. My daughter's boyfriend bought this for me. He's definitely a "keeper". 😁

Great quality and value for the money

Clean taste, no strong after-burn in your nose or throat. Great product for both sipping or mixing. Consistently good quality and value for the money. Will definitely buy again!

Outstanding Value!
10 April 2023

This is tequila that offers the most value for the money. It is incredibly tasty, smooth, and simple to drink. You may use it to make cocktails, take shots, or simply sip tequila. This tequila is commonly mentioned in discussions about inexpensive spirits that are superior to Patron. Although I do believe Patron tastes higher-quality and cleaner, I also believe 1800 is smoother and more delicious. Since 1800 costs roughly half as much as Patron, you should absolutely give it a try. This may be the best tequila available in terms of value.

Very Pure!
14 November 2022

I haven’t had this in awhile. It was a go to a few decades ago in my college days! I decided to try it again due to the excellent price at TWM. I was not disappointed! I would not recommend overindulging in it but if you do, it’s so pure that you will feel OK the next day!

You get a lot for your money

Although it's not top shelf, this tequila is perfect for drinks. clean, cool, but not overpowering burn, and excellent quality for the money. For both newcomers and porch drinkers alike, I would definitely suggest.

omg how awful!
28 August 2021

i’ve recently been exploring my tequila options and have yet to take a shot that literally made me gag while drinking. until now. not only did it take a total of 4 tries to finish 1 shot, but i was actively trying to keep myself from puking. Typically i take my tequila shots with no salt and occasionally no lime, but this one. oh my gosh, ended up chugging dr. pepper in between every attempt at this one single shot. I’ll stick with Patron, Cazadores, and Don Juilo. don’t even waste your money on this mess. there are no words to describe this tequila other than absolutely disgusting.
