Noise canceling does indeed work. Have not yet tried it on a plane, but the noise of a refrigerator and AC unit are mostly blocked. I did notice that there is a low rumbling sound in the right ear with noise canceling on. This is very distracting when I'm not playing any audio and I have to turn it off.The 'pass-through' mode also works, but I find that high frequency noise gets amplified more than the low tones. The result is a crackly, popping feed-through from the microphones.One last note, the start-up sequence is too long. A little jingle plays, followed by a couple of tones, followed by a vocal report on the battery level. I just want to start listening. Overall sound is near audiophile quality: Very balanced, solid bass, with vocals in the foreground.Effective wired audiophile headphones have a certain richness, refined sound. The SonoFlow is a more sculpted sound. Still, pretty darn good. Soundstage is enjoyable, as is the imaging and instrument separation. High definition is clear in the sound. Wired mode presents a slightly darker sound; almost like a thin veil. It is richer, but it sounds darker to my ears. Could be a need for breaking in. The look of the headphone is great. Padding on the head and earcups is soft with a memory foam effect. Earcup padding does accumulate sweat, but it does not get overly warm while listening. The look, aesthetic is great. Carry case for transport is great and sturdy. Great battery life, charging and the wire for listening is of nice quality.This is a can't miss, no need to over-think choice. The equalizer presets on the app actually work, and the app is simple and effective, with updates. I would go through the equalizer presets to determine a preference. I think the default setting is accurate, balanced, and is the most rich sounding of the choices.

Can use them wired with a 3.5mm adapter it comes with too. No issues with the Bluetooth connectivity either, good range.That being said, the sound stage and quality still can't compete with more expensive pairs (comparing to my Sennheiser HD6XX at the time of writing), so don't expect them to.
