I think this is a great project to do on a rainy day. Yes, it takes a few coats of paint to really get the colour right and vibrant, but the end results are great. My 6 year old son is obsessed with space, and he loves falling asleep with the solar system in his room.

I thought for the price the quality of the item was poor, minimal paints meaning there was not enough to fully paint all the planets plus with the planets being plastics they did not paint well.

I bought this for my 4 year old son as he has shown an interest in planets and the solar system. We had great fun bonding over painting and putting together the planets. The fishing line can be a little fiddly but its worth it. The Solar system is now hanging proudly in his room and he talks about it most days and likes to name the planets. The kit is engaging and the planets look great (regardless of your painting ability). A really worthwhile fun and educational product. We are now looking for similar projects and I'm so glad I bought this.
Wondering if anyone has a picture of theirs completed depending on the out come of my question it could possibly be a 5star
Ask me in a few days. Still looking for someone to fix it on the ceiling! But children are very excited as they are very interested about the solar system.
Lovely mobile and good educational product. 5 year old needed adult help with construction but it generated lots of discussion about planets and space.
This was bought for a niece and she loved both making it and seeing the finished mobile in action. A great educational toy.
The major design flaw with this 3D model is that the planets are made of a type of plastic to which the paint doesn't adhere. So the paint goes on streaky and watery and you can barely see it. So you have a bunch of yellow and blue plastic balls with no paint on them. And the planets aren't even remotely proportional to their real size. Completely not worth the money-- buy something else.
Made this on Christmas Day with my child had lots of fun making it and enjoyed this craft fun it’s now hanging up in our house and my child is super proud of it would buy again and would also recommend to others

4M - Large Solar System Mobile Kit
The Solar System Model Making Kit is an inspirational Science Crafts for the whole family! Build your own solar system that spans over 42 cm x 60 cm when erected. Hang it from the ceiling and watch as it revolves and glows in the dark. It’s amazing and must for the ambitious astronaut. The Solar System is the gravitationally-bound system comprising the Sun and the objects that orbit it, either directly or indirectly.Of those objects that orbit the Sun directly, the largest eight are the planets, with the remainder being significantly smaller objects, such as dwarf planets and small Solar System bodies. Of the objects that orbit the Sun indirectly, the moons, two are larger than the smallest planet, Mercury. The Solar System formed 4.6 billion years ago from the gravitational collapse of a giant interstellar molecular cloud. The vast majority of the system’s mass is in the Sun, with the majority of the remaining mass contained in Jupiter. The four smaller inner planets, Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars, are terrestrial planets, being primarily composed of rock and metal. The four outer planets are giant planets, being substantially more massive than the terrestrials. The two largest, Jupiter and Saturn, are gas giants, being composed mainly of hydrogen and helium; the two outermost planets, Uranus and Neptune, are ice giants, being composed mostly of substances with relatively high melting points compared with hydrogen and helium, called volatiles, such as water, ammonia and methane. All eight planets have almost circular orbits that lie within a nearly flat disc called the ecliptic.
