I loved the first version of the RUSH 72 and thought I would love this version. The large front pocket does not have double pockets anymore which I used for two rifle magazines. You could have sewn in a large section of loop to attach pouches or other items. In the two large side pockets, they used does not have a small internal pocket which I used to use for pistol magazines. Now those are not in there. I don’t like attaching external pouches for rifle and pistol magazines. This bag is not meant to carry rifle/pistol magazines. If you want to keep or get the original 5.11 Rush series.

Excellent backpack. I purchased this to use as an EDC bag, which appears to be a very uncommon use for it. Many other users state the bag as being almost too large for most circumstances. however I always would rather have extra space than not enough space. I carry the bag absolutely everywhere, so anything further that I acquire from a store, work, etc. will always find room in the bag.The hip belt definitely makes a difference - I also have the smaller RUSH12, which was my previous EDC bag, and loading that to capacity was notably less comfortable than loading the 72. Even with a fully loaded bag, the straps and hip belt do a great job of keeping it comfortable to carry.Build quality and design is fantastic, as would be expected from the RUSH series. One note ... here's the deal: there are a lot of comments saying this bag isn't as good as the last one due to pockets being different or whatever. I never owned the old model, so I have nothing but good things to say about this one. I was beating myself up for awhile between this and the mission workshop vandal because I wanted a large capacity bag.I'm so glad I got this one. super durable, well-stitched pack with a LARGE capacity. it almost looks ridiculous when it is completely full but it is super easy to carry. plenty of separation for everything. a great bag and over a hundred cheaper than my other option and it has MOLLE capability. what more could I need?I'll own it forever and may even get the 24 for edc. I'm super impressed. I'm tired of spending good money for less ... I would definitely recommend it if you need a BOB or even for a fair-sized trip to the grocery store.*i included a pic of the bag strapped in to show the size.

I have a previous generation 5.11 Rush 72, and I noticed they removed several pockets. For example, in the admin pocket, there were two pockets on the flap portion that are not present in the 2.0. There were also smaller pockets within the long side pouches that are now gone. I love 5.11 products, but it sucks that they removed storage options in the 2.0. The pack is otherwise excellent and extremely well thought out. My previous generation pack is still going strong after many years.
Very large bag. It is a work bag. Can fit all my needs in this one bag. Thats a change of clothes. Extra layers. Sneakers. Laptop. And more. Bag is setup how a bag like this should be setup. Access to all compartments is easy and fast. The quality of this bag is great. The shoulder straps should not rip at the seams for years. There is a ton of molle attachment points. For the abuse this bag will get from job. It should hold up for years. I upgraded from a Marmot that was about the same size. Thats a good bag. But this bag out does it by a long shot.
Excellent quality of design and structural integrity in a new larger size! I already had the 37L and sought the next size larger to accommodate a larger laptop computer, iPad, and thick 3-Ring Binder, brochures, et.al. The new two tone black gives a nice enhanced contrast look. The outer displayed Velcro patch area is modifiable to go from the workplace to the hiking trail with a quick switch of image. The voluminous zipper pockets and storage areas challenges you to remember where you put everything. Even a hard to notice discreet section that can pack both a .45 CCW and still make room for a FoldAR elsewhere. Very satisfied with this purchase!
It's durable, comfortable and looks nice. It's water resistant, has lots of pocket for organizing. Pockets include a laptop sleeve, a special insulated sleeve for camel-bak's or water water bladders, a concealed pistol sleeve, a large space in-between the 2 large pockets, a special padded pocket for delicate items, a pocket on the bottom for rain fly's and even more.In the photo's you'll just a few of the things I fit into the pack and even with just the items you see I still have TONS of more space to fit more things into. The MOLLE webbing all across the pack makes it great for customizing and attaching special items for you to have quick access to or for special compartments. Personally if you're looking for a day pack or grab-n-go bag this probably isn't the best due to it's size and weight. But If you're looking for a long term 3 day backpack for hiking, camping or any other special activity then look no further. This pack has everything you need and more.
I bought this primarily for travel, camping and boating, as I wanted one backpack that would hold everything! This has pockets and storage galore! You can easily pack three or more days worth of clothes, essentials etc. The .45 fits nice in the concealed compartment as well. 😉All the pockets have easy access and you can clip almost anything on it. Also, I found this to be very comfortable to wear on your back and can be adjusted depending on where want the weight carried. I’m 5’ 11” 205lbs so I have a lot of play in the straps to work with.I should have this a while as it is well built. There are plenty of other great features but there is no point going over them as it is in the description.Well worth the money.
I have an older coyote Rush 72. It's very sturdy and no doubt it will last a long time. Lot's of pockets for sure. I found myself always wanting to go back to a different pack and couldn't exactly figure-out why. Then I realized it is the contoured shoulder straps. They are too narrow at the top. It's a pain to pull the second strap on, especially if you're wearing a jacket, or have a pouch on that strap, or you're pulling the pack on and off a lot. Not a big deal if you don't do any of those things, but pretty annoying if you do. It will be a matter of personal preference for you. Just something to consider. Overall it's a well built pack and may work better for you if you have a different body type.
I have been living in Costa Rica for the last few months and this bag gets used everyday. It is super comfortable. I use it to haul groceries from the supermarket. I use it on hikes and and to go to the beach. It’s my suitcase when I travel as well. Tons of pockets for all my clothing and or gear. Also buckles and zippers are quality. Bag material doesn’t get mold when it’s wet, which can be a major problem in the rainy season. I love this bag and it’s becoming the mvp of my trip. It’s also super affordable in my opinion. Buy it you won’t regret it
