I purchased the 5.11 Men's Canvas Cotton. The canvas cotton material is very stiff & uncomfortable to wear, especially on long hikes. I have purchased 5.11 men's pants in the past & they were a softer material & are very comfortable to wear.I lost the tag on those 5.11 so I don't know how to find them? I called the 5.11 customer service & they recommended the 5.11 Canvas Cotton.I called 5.11 customer service & told them they are very stiff & uncomfortable & they said I should wash them & that would help? I washed them & it did not make a difference.Now that I washed them they said I can not exchange or return them now.So I'll just have to donate them or throw them away.I wish there was some way I could find the softer material I had purchased in the past? These pants are the best! They have become my go to pants for everyday wear. I used to wear my 565 Levi Jeans all the time. But that was a problem, because when it came time to get ready for duty, I always had to switch into my 5.11 Tactical pants because of the fit with my EDC. When it comes to these pants I truly cannot think of any downside. They are very comfortable, I love all the pockets, and they are dirt resistant!

I ordered 10 pair of the tactical pants during the President's sale. I received them and they stayed in a closet for a few months as I was working away from home for 6 months. I returned in the middle of August and 1/2 (5 out of 10 pair) of them the snaps do not hold. I called customer service and explained that the 5 pair had not been worn AT ALL. They promised a shipping label and they would ship replacement pairs to me.I think due to the length of time that has passed I am Stuck like Chuck. This is really sad as I have pair of 5.11 pants that are greater than 5 yrs. old and the snaps work just fine. I truly believe that 5.11 has gone to a cheaper vendor for the snaps. To be honest, I thrifted a pair of these pants but I had to come on here and write a review. Theyre such amazing pants! So comfy and I get compliments literally every time I wear them. They're durable enough to wear at work but also stylish and the pockets are so so so nice. I would totally buy another pair but they're a little pricy. Even so, I'm looking out for deals at my NEX!
These are my favorite pants period, I use them for welding for a fast food job and really anything else including casual use. Each pair lasts me about a year which is fair considering I use them every day and am really hard on them. They are really cool In hot weather and do ok up until it gets around 35 degrees I live in Az so they are perfect they double front adds some durability since the fabrics a little thin compared to some of my other work pants. I also love all the pockets I end up using all of them except for the back pockets. Really my only complaints are how thin the fabric is and also you can only seem to buy these online.
I really like the pants. What I don't like is, the on-line page was unclear about the fit of the pants. I was trying to order regular fit so I picked the filter for regular fit. When these pants came up, I believed I was ordering regular fit but when they arrived, I received relaxed fit. No where on the page did it identify what fit was being ordered. All it had was the waist size and pant's length. When I returned the items to a local store, the employee told me these particular pants don't come in regular fit, only relaxed fit. It did not say that on the item description when I purchased them on-line. It should be clear on the web page for an item was fits (slim, regular, relaxed, etc.) the item comes in.

Who could ask for more?Well, i suppose I could, given that I've only given them a 4/5 rating. The material has gotten a bit lighter over the years and I don't like that but it's not enough to deduct a star. What did cause me to lower my rating is that the right side knife pocket is no longer a feature. I generally carry the largest auto knife allowed by law. It was a perfect fit in that little slit of a pocket on the right leg, just above the cargo pocket. Now I have to clip it inside the right pants pocket. That works OK, I suppose, but occasionally gets fouled with my keys which are on a retractor clipped to the metal triangle ... MoreThese are my favorite pants. As a retired first responder they are perfect for every day wear. I tried another name brand but the front pockets were so small I couldn't get my hand in let alone my EDC. These front pockets are very roomy. They are a bit pricey on a fixed income. I hope they last a while? The color selection is great! The material weight is excellent!
I regret buying this model of pants, it was wasted money. I’m a big fan of 511 but these pants don’t fit like they should. The pants don’t stay on your waist. You have to adjust the pants all day. If you kneel, squat, or even walk fast enough the pants move down, even with a belt on. The pants pinch your legs in certain positions when you sit. The things you put in your back pockets will sit on the back of your thighs. The material is not the most breathable either. I could maybe see them doing better in cold climates but if you live somewhere with warmer climate I’d look at different models. Personally I would recommend the Apex model. Unfortunately I could not return them.
The 32 inseam was not accurate. Ordered two pair of pants both 32, different lengths on each. Utility pockets directly over inside front pockets creates huge bulges when carrying items in each pocket. Overall fit is poor as bending down or squatting produces extreme tightness, having to hitch my pants up every time I want to bend down. Also it seems the material has changed to a heavier type, not ideal fir summer use. I bought a pair of 511 3 years ago, best pair of pants I ever owned. Bought two new pair and was immediately disappointed. Will look for better pants elsewhere.
