A lot of people use and recommend this product

I have used this product in my 'Diesel' (non two stroke) since its second oil change and at 66K and 11 seasons, I would say it's doing its job. This is a semi synthetic oil, which my owners manual says is suitable for my engine, but do check your manual before you start using the full synthetic. In a conversation with the Motul people at Laguna a few years back, I asked the oil life expectancy of this product. They recommended around 5200-5500 K is the max a consumer should go, so that works out to a season for most of us.

Better than most.

Great oil. The "smooth shifting" formula really makes a difference. Had Motul in my old race bike. Switched to another name brand synthetic from a sponsor. Shifting became more difficult. Changed back to Motul & shifting got easier. I would not have have believed it if not for this experience. I have run it exclusively ever since. Great oil, and no engine problems.

Bike likes it! Taste was a little off for me.

The review prompt asks ?what does it look like in real life?? Well the outside was a black plastic jug as expected. The branding was some sort of paper affixed to the jug, I imagine with some kind of adhesive, possible a sticker? But who really knows, that?s between motul and their god.As for the inside, it was full of viscous liquid, also as expected. When I poured it into the 2012 Bonneville, the jug was like ?glugglugglugglug? and towards the end of the jug it made a ?doopdoopdoop? sound. The bike said ?bet! good lookin out fam, I?m not tryna seize up lmao.?I almost gave this 4 stars because I didn?t much care for the taste, it was minerally and had a strange dinosaur-y after taste. I went with 15w this time around because I read that it can help reduce the clunk when shifting- I think it did a little bit but I have not performed a decibel test. cheers.

Glad I made the switch !!
9 July 2019

I was running Amsoils full synthetic for about 60k miles in my 2011 Yamaha R1 strictly commuting, kept getting the oil pressure light when riding VERY hard on the highway. Changed oil at proper intervals as well. Just made the switch at 70k to Motul 5100 and what a difference !! Smoother shifts, less valve train tick, and no oil pressure light !! Give it a try you will notice an immediate difference. I bought 1 gal plus 2 quarts, there very cool with the pop out nozzle ! Had some zillow cash in the bank so got a killer deal !

Great oil for Gsx-R
17 August 2018

Absolutely love this oil!Figured it would be a good time to change oil after i noticed some rougher gear changes after the 3500km interval.Decided for this Semi-Synthetic oil because of my read ups of people having clutch slippage with fully synthetic oils in Gsx-r, and that the manual only recommends semi synth. blend max.And let me tell you what, after this oil change with the 10w40 5100 Ester 4T, my bike Shifts smooth as butter, what a dream to ride. Can't notice gear changes it is so smooth, no jerking and popping anymore... from now on, this is my go-to oil for my Gsxr 1000 with power commander and power ret*rd eliminator.

Highly recommended, super smooth shifts.
19 August 2020

First time I changed my oil on my 2011 Triumph ST3 since I got it about a year ago. First thing I noticed was that it shifts SO MUCH more smoothly. Especially when shifting into second from red line in first, I used to really have to shift hard to make sure it engaged 2nd gear and didn't stay in neutral for an inadvertent rev bomb. I immediately noticed on this new oil that it went into second with much less force and the transmission picked up right where it left off.I put Motul in my 2007 Porsche Cayman S per the shop that I used, and I'm sure it's better but I can't say I noticed a difference over Mobil 1. But on this bike, it was absolutely noticeable over whatever was in the bike before.

Not what I was looking for.

I bought this last year about this time to change oil for winter storage. I decided to go ahead and run it in the bike for the season this year since I knew I would not be riding a lot of miles and no aggressive riding compared to usual years. I have been using 300v over the past few years so I will compare to that. After about 1500 kms of just commuting to my shop and a few evening rides for enjoyment this oil started isbehaving. It got very dirty looking for some reason. What bothered me about it is that shifting did not feel good at all. We know the difference of feel between crappy oil and nice oil when shifting. This felt on the crappy end of the spectrum. I have not had the oil tested nor do I ever intend to. I also know that the 300v is not usually a correct choice but I was doing some pretty hard riding in some hot conditions for long days at a time. I am going to move to 7100 and give that a try. I will likely never come back to this oil.

I actually miss purchased this thinking it was full synthetic when it arrived I just ended up googling it and looking at some other reviews based on the mostly satisfied reviews I decided to keep it and try it out.The positives that I noticed from this motor oil is that it does seem to handle cooling easily as well as the recommended manufacturers motül at a fraction of the price...
