Excellent fan that can be adjusted as needed with a remote control. The adjustment is very gradual with many, many steps so it is not your typical control with just 3-steps (low, medium, high) where it is either too low or you are getting blown away. You are always able to find the right speed that is comfortable based on temperature and activity level. For example, if you are on stationary bike, you can start the fan at low speed while warming up and then adjust the speed as you make the work out harder, and then lower it again when cooling down.

This is the second fan. Had to move around first one to much.If you design a window 2 fan LET ME KNOW. When i got the first fan was pleased at the size for the air flow, am sure no one else makes a fan that only uses 2 watts on slowest speed. Would have given 5 stars, but the " made in the USA" is not correct. found a tag on bottom of fan " made in china". I bought the first fan thinking it was made in USA.John52

I have owned dozens of fans, many of them vornado brand, & this 1 by far is the best! All vornado fans claim to have the feature where it moves air all around the room if you can find the right place to point it in the room. Well, I have never successfully found the "sweet spot" in any room. Yes most of them are sturdier & blow a bit harder than other brands of fans, but that was the extent of it. However, this fan blew me away (literally & figuratively!) As soon as I plugged it in & saw just how hard it blows at the highest setting, I was in love! This fan is pretty good considering its size and could match the airflow output of a larger fan, however it has a tight beam of air, so its much better for personal use as a desk fan. It would be too weak to cool off a large room, would be better off placing a $20 box fan in the window instead. I have the classic vornado 550B variable speed dial fan from the 90's, same size and can blow twice the amount of air this can. However, if you really need a fan that goes to a low speed without hardly any noise, especially if you need to have a fan on while listening to quiet classical passages in a home theatre system, then this fan is for you. this fan runs very slow on speeds 1-10, 99 being available speeds. High speed is noisy, and the plastic blades cut the air with the ... This series of fans is one of my favorites not only because of they use a DC motor which provided up to 80% more energy efficiency but because they are quieter and work way better! I LOVE how they redesigned the base so the power brick is built into the fan instead of having to deal with the big ac/dc converter brick in the power cord itself so this fan has the traditional 2 prong cable making it a breeze to move around. The led display and touch buttons are very nice and easy use and make the fan look premium! The fan comes with an up to 12 hour timer which I never use because our fans run pretty much 24/7. The ... The only complaint I have about the 5303dc and the 6303dc is the remote they include with these smaller table top fans, the remotes DO NOT work, straight out of the box. They will work for a second then it just does not work you'll be turning the fan up or down and the fan just stops responding to the remote, so the remote itself is completely pointless for these fans, which isn't a huge deal for me, but you think for the higher quality of fans vornado makes and the higher price they would send and actual usable remote with them!?! I have the 6303 and the 5303 and the remote on both of them are exactly the same, did not work from new so I know I didn't just get a bad remote, it will work for a second then like I mentioned the fan stops responding. The way we combat this is we also own the stand up pedestal style 6803dc which includes a remote that looks almost the same but has different style buttons on it and that remote works flawlessly and also works for the smaller fans! A great addition would be for them to add somekind of way of attaching the remote to the base of these fans so you don't have a tiny remote floating around to get lost... Overall though, vornado really does make the best most efficient fans aka "air Circulator" on the market, they are pricey but you def get what you pay for! Not only do they look awesome but they function amazingly! I really hope to add one of vornado's retro style pedestal fans to our collection someday because those are the coolest looking fans money can buy! Maybe someday!
I love everything about this fan.I was initially drawn to the brand which is highly regarded and has a great warranty.Then I was drawn to the energy efficiency of this model.It's a great small/medium size with a sturdy base.I can adjust it up/down to aim directly at me or just to get air circulating in the room.The remote is an added bonus as the fan is across the room from my bed, so I can adjust the speed or turn it off/on without getting up.I'm a hot sleeper who also needs white noise to sleep and this fixes both issues - keeps me cool and provides a perfect low hum to drown out city noises (I live 2 miles from downtown and directly across the street from a fire station).I do wish this oscillated, but haven't missed that feature as much as I though I would!

Other features I appreciate: the large on/off button, it’s light weight, easy way to adjust it’s speed, the small remote control, the warranty. It obviously makes the sound of air so can serve as low white noise. I am pleased to own this quality product. After looking at other fans, in hopes of saving some money, I realized I would miss out on a lot of what I now have in my Vornado - a quality product.My only concern would be with the timely reply and poor reply to my question that I sent via their online form. I bought this in February after my Dyson fan died. Being physically handicapped a remote is a must, and I absolutely LOVE all of the speeds, because I get hot very easily. I am so glad I found this fan.
I had a "little hurricane" fan for the longest time which did the trick, but was wearing out. I was constantly having to put WD-40 on it to keep it from squeaking, it was falling apart, and sometimes it just didn't work. After endless research for a replacement I landed on the Vornado Energy Smart line. This Vortex is a great size (not much bigger than the one I had). I use it to keep me cool and create white noise when I sleep. It's the perfect level of white noise (with no squeaking). I love that it is energy smart and has a 10 year warranty. Only thing missing is an oscillating feature, but haven't missed that too much. Love the added remote so I can turn off/on or adjust speed from my bed.
Prior to purchasing this fan I researched other Vornado models, different brands & read all customer’s reviews. I’m so pleased with this air circulator. We actually wanted one that put out different ranges of power & sound. We like to have “white noise” while sleeping & when this model is cranked up to 99 speed it fits that bill perfectly. The amount of air it moves is amazing. There are speed levels from 1 to 99. A perfect for level for every need or desire. It’s also very quiet at lower (but effective) speed levels. The REMOTE CONTROL is an absolute bonus!! I have not had any problems or issues with the remote whatsoever. I highly recommend this model unit to everyone.
