This lock rates 12/15 on Abus durability scale. I like rubber coating that helps prevent scratches on bikes, it's a solid lock.

This is my second Abus Granit U lock; I've had the other one for over 5 years. For the security level, it is the lightest, by far, of other U locks. An additional benefit that shows careful attention to good design: the keyhole has a spring loaded cover that saves grit from getting into the lock mechanism.

This lock rates 12/15 on Abus durability scale. I like rubber coating that helps prevent scratches on bikes, it's a solid lock.

I had high hopes for this lock having owned several other great Abus Locks and recommending them.This Abus Granit 640 Mini isn't great. The lock shackle and key don't always engage properly - in some instances it would be possible to not fully secure the lock and turn the key!If you've lifted the bike when locking to railings the shackle will have bend (temporarily) slightly and won't engage properlly. Other locks can cope with this.Key action doesn't feel positive.Lock feels light and flimsy.
I have just purchased it and I am enjoying the product. It feels very strong and safe, although a little bit heavy. Also, now it is easier to carry my locker around since I can attach it to my bike. I am happy with the purchase and I recommend it.

The rubber cover over the shackle goes all the way inside the lock, making it fit very snug and protecting it from the elements.Overall, this is much better than the Kryptonite Evolution Minis. Better engineered and it works smoother.It's also very light at 854 grams (weighted).The lock is a Sold secure Silver, even though this is not proeminently advertised.My only issue with this lock is Abus providing only two keys out of the box. It’s definitely one of the best choices if you’re looking for high security. I chose this model to meet my need based on it’s size.
Bought this to lock up my Xiaomi scooter. Works perfectly and I like that its just a bit longer than some other mini u-locks so its easy to find something to lock it to and its also much lighter than some mini Kryptonie U-locks too!
Perfect size for use about town, a snug fit to secure rear wheel and frame to a sheffield stand (150mm version). Easy to carry and less chance of damage from your bike being knocked over. Worth matching with security skewers for the wheels.
I've had this lock a month or so. I tried another that was lighter, but the keys were frighteningly difficult to insert and turn--I was sure I'd get stranded. So, first thing with this one, I inserted the key what I thought was far enough and had some turning problems. It goes all the way in, up to the black. I actually like that since there's no guessing. I also was in a hurry once and managed to lock it about halfway in, but the red color helped me see I wasn't fully set. Those are the issues, minor, especially because it just feels more solid all around than any u-lock I've used, and I haven't owned a car in 17 years, so I use a lock a lot.
