I have a new replacement receiver that is in an open front cabinet with about 4” clear above. The top was getting so hot that I was concerned that the receiver would eventually run into issues. It runs WAY hotter than the unit it replaced. Also, on top of the reveiver is the best place to keep the remotes out of the way, and that would further block ventilation. The Aircom fan does exactly what it is advertised to do, and the top is cool, not even warm to the touch. The unit has several modes, several fan speeds and is beyond easy to install and program (was out of the box and in use in 15 min, including reading the directions). You will need a standard outlet for power.I am using an auto setting with the fans at the second lowest speed. I have on a few occasions had them set to”on” and “high”, for instance when using all channels and playing loud movie/music. For average TV/Music the fans are audible above the first or second speed - BUT the first or second speed does a fine job of keeping the receiver cool, I have the thermostat set at 90°. It cycles on/off about every 10 min at this temp, and I don’t even notice it.Additionally, it sits on top of the receiver and looks like an extension of the receiver. It is very slim in height and the display is able to be turned off so it is not noticable at all. Full auto mode allows it to do its job with out any thought.I would highly recommend this product. Very satisfied.

I have an old technics receiver and when 5.1 is turned on it doesnt get warm, it gets really hot, however, since the very first day i started using the T10 the situation changed. I did several tests and i can say this thing works and very good. At higher speeds you can listen some noise coming from the fan, but if you are playing movies or music you are not going to listen it. Im using it in medium speed and the noise is pretty low.In my test i first started using the receiver at high volume with the 5.1 turned on (The T10 was Off). The temperature after one hour was pretty high, over 40°C (110°F), but after turning the Fan on, the T10 lowered in only 20 minutes the temperature to 30°C (86°F), keeping it always working for hours at the same temperature. Finally, for me this device worths every single dollar.

I just received my T10 today. Even upon unpacking it, I could immediately tell from the build quality that it is a fine unit. I set it up on my A/V Processor, and programmed it. What a difference it makes. This is a great and useful "gadget." I love it so far. I set the temperature to 80°F and alarm to 95°F, on Auto – my component gets very hot, very quickly. The unit turns on and off as expected, and does a great job maintaining the safe temperature. My cabinet has a glass front door, which I always keep open when playing music or watching movies anyway, so I opted for the T10 front-vented unit. However, I also ordered two of your T8 rear-vented units to place on top of my other components. I may try a T8 on top of my Processor, so I can close the door after all ... MoreI just received my T10 today. However, I also ordered two of your T8 rear-vented units to place on top of my other components. I may try a T8 on top of my Processor, so I can close the door after all these years. I’m listening to music as I type this review, and can see the fan speed meter (set to four bars) when the fans engage on and off on the T10 – it’s maintaining a temperature of 80°F with ease. At speed four, the fans are slightly audible between music tracks. Once the music starts up again, no fan noise – even at low volume! These component coolers are also a great value for the money. They are extremely reasonably priced for what you get. Like me, others can get a few of these without “breaking the bank.”I must also mention that I phoned your offices to ask a question about something not listed in the manual, and received a quick, accurate and pleasant response from Jonathan. Speaking of the user manual, it could provide a bit more information, but otherwise it's quite good.I don't know how I did without one of these for so long. Now I feel confident that my Processor is sufficiently and safely cooled.I will definitely buy again when the need (or "want") arises.Thank you for manufacturing this simple, but extremely useful and effective product.

I was surprised at how much heat a large Class A amplifier generates. When driven hard, heat sink temperatures can soar over 90 degrees Fahrenheit. This fan can easily lower the temperature 10-15 degrees, keeping the temperature under 80 degrees. The amplifier, which is on an open stand with a top exhaust Aircom fan on top, generally operates at temperature from 76 to 80 degrees, a reasonable temperature which will undoubtedly extend the life of all the electronic components. My Vincent vacuum-tube preamp, located on a set of shelves, has a rear-exhaust Aircom fan on top and I can also easily maintain temperatures under 80 degrees while it is in operation. As long as the fan is kept within the first two settings the noise level is quite low, substantially below the ... MoreI was surprised at how much heat a large Class A amplifier generates. I only notice the fans when I am within a few feet of them, and they give me great peace of mind. These fans work well and are relatively inexpensive. They can be set to step automatically upward through the fan-speed settings as the temperature rises, or to run at a constant speed. They will sound an alarm at a user-selected temperature. The only missing feature I would like to see, is a control to allow the user to calibrate the digital temperature reading which can vary a degree or two from one unit to the other.
Of late the cat took to climbing on my receiver to bask in the warm air rising from my receiver. As I had had a very expensive receiver fry because I lodged the turntable atop it like I had since I built my first Heathkit a very long time ago. Plug up the upper vent and bad things happen. From that mishap forward, the receivers have had to stack atop the other stuff - leaving the turntable to fend for itself. All was rather awkwardly placed but safe until a new cat decided napping on the receiver suited her perfectly. Fast forward past a couple of scratches from dragging her off the receiver and I got this Aircom. Problem solved in that it funnels the warm air out the front of the box. It also allowed me to move the turntable back onto the stack, on top of the fan. ... MoreOf late the cat took to climbing on my receiver to bask in the warm air rising from my receiver. It also allowed me to move the turntable back onto the stack, on top of the fan. I suppose a dedicated, air-conditioned closet with an enormously expensive rack would have done for the receiver... in the meantime, I'm quite pleased that I don't have to worry about the cat or the receiver. I've set up the fans so that they are quiet and efficient. They will quickly start sucking up volumes of hot air if the receiver's temperature rises too much, but the quotidian temperature is regulated nicely with minimum fuss and virtually no noise. It was an excellent choice, and much cheaper than the aforementioned closet.
Very quiet machine. It has been able to keep my Denon avr-x3800h under 78 degrees on smart mode even after a day of watching movies and the evening cranking out the music through 9 channels. I have also set the alarm to notify me if the unit begins to get too hot. Without it, I wouldn't know about the heat problem until the unit shuts down in protection mode.
I have Cambridge Audio Azur 851* stereo components (integrated amplifier, DAC, and the Network Player). The amplifier, in particular, tends to run quite warm - to the point where it will turn itself off after 6-7 hours of continuous use. I've wanted to purchase some sort of cooling system, even though everything is in an open rack, because of the amplifier getting so warm, but I could never find anything that I thought would work with my setup since I am not particularly mechanical. I happened upon the AC Infinity Aircom Quiet Fan system and knew immediately that this would probably be the best and easiest solution. I ordered the top exhaust unit first since the amplifier was my biggest concern and the venting system on it is across the top. This Aircom unit has completely solved the overheating problem and the amplifier is staying very cool even after 6-7 hours of use. I have the temperature setting at 80 degrees and thus far I've been able to run the fan in “Auto†mode at the lowest speed. I's very quiet and I don't notice when the fan is on even with my recliner only about 5 ft. away from the rack. The amplifier is staying consistently at 80 degrees and the temperature never seems to fluctuate.I was so impressed with the top exhaust Aircom fan that I then ordered another one for the DAC as well as a rear exhaust Aircom fan for the Network Player. All of them are extremely quiet - I don't notice when more than one fan is going on and/or off. I was concerned that the rear exhaust fan might be a bit noisier, but in my case, i's not. I have all 3 fans running in “Auto†mode with a temperature setting of 80 degrees and all are staying consistently at the temperature I've set. The Interface is very easy to use and easy to see if changes are needed. My hope is that with the three AC Infinity Aircom cooling fans being used continuously when my system is on, that the components will have a long and “cool†lifespan. An excellent, well-worth-the-money investment in cooling.
I purchased the AC Infinity AIRCOM T10 because I needed something to keep my Marantz AVR cool. I am a new Home Theater Audiophile so the Marantz is my first AVR and I didn't realize how hot these AVR's get with prolonged use. I have my components in a wall cabinet without doors so they are not lacking breathing room but the AVR still gets hot. I purchased the T10 because of the front exhaust which works out great for my application. In fact, the T10 is just awesome. I can use the AVR all day long if the T10 is on with it. This is just a product that everyone who has a AVR, Processor, Preamp, Amplifier or any other A/V component that gets hot with use simply need to get and get one for every component that needs it.
Having solved a problem with a tube amp using S2 blower fans, I decided to try the Aircom T10 on another component that has always been a problem in a front open cabinet. The Aragon 8008 solid state amp puts out 400 watts per channel using massive Torroidal transformers. The unit generates so much heat that the amp has a large "V" cut in the profile that is actually a large radiator to dissipate heat. Setting the Aircom T10 on top of the unit, the heat radiator is directly below the exhaust fans and the front exhaust design moves enough air out of the cabinet to solve the heat build up. The programmable unit allows the fans to operate at the lowest speeds possible to maintain the desired ambient temperature in the cabinet. On top of this the unit is nicely designed so that it does not distract from the aesthetics of the amp and the noise level even at the highest speed is not distracting. This unit was a much better alternative to cutting air intakes and exhausts in a custom made cabinet that sits in the center of an entertainment area.
honestly, i didn't know my AVR was running so hot even while on standby. i only noticed it when i recently upgraded the stereo wire banana plugs. i have a Sony STR-DN1080 (purchased 7/2018), and according to Sony tech, this is "normal" operation. ummm, NOT FOR ME!i originally purchased the T8. as u can see from my photo, i have about 2.5" clearance on both sides and top, but about 8" rear clearance (not seen) inside my non-ventilated media console (circa 2004). i figured the rear clearance was enough to dissipate the exhaust, but after a couple days of testing, the T8 could only lower the AVR temp to around 102ºF.after speaking with AC Infinity support, they recommended the T10 unit, which keeps my AVR as low as 81ºF. i use the AUTO setting at 88ºF, max fan speed ... Morehonestly, i didn't know my AVR was running so hot even while on standby. i only noticed it when i recently upgraded the stereo wire banana plugs. i have a Sony STR-DN1080 (purchased 7/2018), and according to Sony tech, this is "normal" operation. ummm, NOT FOR ME!i originally purchased the T8. as u can see from my photo, i have about 2.5" clearance on both sides and top, but about 8" rear clearance (not seen) inside my non-ventilated media console (circa 2004). i figured the rear clearance was enough to dissipate the exhaust, but after a couple days of testing, the T8 could only lower the AVR temp to around 102ºF.after speaking with AC Infinity support, they recommended the T10 unit, which keeps my AVR as low as 81ºF. i use the AUTO setting at 88ºF, max fan speed at 3, which is the loudest i will tolerate from my 11' listening position. at fan speed 1-2, it's nearly silent. at 4+, nope, it is noticeably unacceptable for me, so 3 is a compromise. i could possibly get away with fan speed at 2, but that could lead to longer operating times and a decreased life span. i will be upgrading my media console that accounts for ventilation in its design as well. gotta protect the equipment!
