This USB fan was better than I'd hoped. I use it to ventilate a high-end stereo receiver so quiet operation is a must. It has a 3-speed in-line control and you cannot even hear the fan on low or medium. Even at 3.25 inches in size it moves air well. The flat design gives you more options for placement and better ventilation. I use a small USB charger plugged into a regular outlet to provide power. The packaging and instructions are top-notch. Very satisfied. Nothing I've seen can match this little fan at this price. A great little fan I should have bought two!

I have a router that overheats causing major signal output and streaming issues. Someone on a forum suggested the 120mm USB cooling fan. Apparently he had the same issues and these did the trick for him. I use one for the base blowing upward and the other drawing out the hot air. Well shazam! No more bad signal. Works like a charm. Going to get some more for my son's computer. Who knew....

Ordered three of these: one for my cabinet, one for my router, and one for another device in my house. They're of solid construction, and the rubber mounts make them ideal for putting them on top of stuff. Additionally, the fact that they can be either powered by a USB port or the provided plug adapter makes it extremely convenient for anyone who wants to go either route. For some devices, you don't actually want to use a USB port, as the power draw could negate the cooling you're trying to do. Luckily, that's what the plug adapter is there for. I haven't used the devices' feature to be daisy-chained together, but I imagine it could be very useful for larger setups. In terms of actual performance, the fans do their job well. They significantly cool the devices (or areas) I want them to cool, and do so with minimal noise. My router runs a bit hot, but I didn't want to try and physically mod it to attach a heatsink or some other cooling solution. Being able to just plop one of these fans on top and still get a lot of mileage out of is great. Additionally, the ability to turn off/on each fan individually is a great convenience. I really don't need them to be on all the time, and being able to turn them off without unplugging them is ideal. I hate devices that you can only turn off by unplugging it.My only warning for any prospective buyers is to be aware of the increased amount of dust. You'll need to clean these regularly, like you should with any fan really.

The best aspect of this fan kit is the care and quality that went into assembling the off-the-shelf parts. For a paltry ten-spot or so, someone more skillful than I has soldered up the USB power cable and even provided a spare USB socket a few inches from the 80mm fan. The rocker type power switch is also high quality and can work for many thousands of cycles, if need be. If you mount the fan onto a chassis or behind some warm cabinet, it will silently move a moderate number of CFM's away from your overheated hardware, or it can blow cool air INTO the hot hardware (which seems to benefit hardware better, in many cases). The fan rotates at a medium speed, so it stays quiet. Personally I am using one as a face cooler next to my keyboard on my workbench. Note that the USB AUX female port is parallel to the fan wiring AFTER the switch, on the fan side. Therefore if you plug in some other device that has power on it, that power will also feed back into the USB port and the fan will spin due to this phantom feedback of power, though usually at a somewhat lower speed, and the on/off switch will not affect this behavior. The little rubber corner "feet" are held in tentatively by the typical, coarse threaded fan mounting screws (included), and if you use them, they go atop the little fan finger protector grilles (a pair are included). This means that very little purchase is available for the screws to hold down the rubber feet with. If you go with this setup as-is, it can work only if the fan assembly is not pushed around. Otherwise the rubber feet will keep popping off. The best fix for this is tiny brass or aluminum washers inserted into the feet, or just apply a drop or two of 3M Windshield Sealer or a similar black rubber/silicone/epoxy glue. After these assembly mods, your Infinity Fan will be ready for any industrial abuse you can throw its way!
I got a couple of these to blow over one of my lesser lights that has a Sosen driver in which I’ve found always get a bit toasty. Great little fans that will go the distance and handy having a choice of 3 speeds. Very quiet and moves just as much air as a generic 120mm. Very happy with these fans.
As all of the other reviews state, this fan is QUIET and really moves air - no matter the orientation. Many cheap fans will rattle or make noise depending upon orientation. It is good for hours/days of constant use. Everything from the cord length/quality, to the firm and responsive switch makes apparent that this thing is built to last, for any application. The ability to daisy chain is really nice. I am thinking about buying a few more.
These fans have some undeserved less than stellar reviews. Some say they don't blow much air, okay, but they are designed not to use a lot of power (you can run 4 of them off one USB jack), and although they won't blow you over, they are very quiet and do add significant cooling to your equipment. Another review complained about the screws used to mount the rubber feet and fan guards. If you follow directions and don't run the screws in too tightly, they work just fine. I didn't use the guards but I did try installing them - no problems, thought he screws don't have enough length to go deep into the plastic mounting holes, they go in far enough.Well made, and when used as intended, work quietly to help cool your electronic's innards. I mounted two of these fans on the top of an Onkyo audio visual receiver that's installed in a mostly closed cabinet. The cabinet has a single 120 mm 110 VAC fan to pull in cooling air (which does make a small amount of noise but not noticeable when equipment cabinet door is closed). These fans increase air circulation and improve cooling efficiency dropping temperature in the cabinet by 5 degrees.Wiring is simple, just plug the first fan into the AVR's USB socket, then the next fan plugs into the first. Both turn on with the receiver automatically.
I have two of these now. The first one I purchased to cool my Linksys WRT1900ACSv2 Router which ran at around 83C. After purchasing this and putting it on top of the router drawing air up through the bottom of the router my temperature is around 61C. That's a huge drop in temp.22 Centigrade equals 71.6 degree FARENHEIT drop in temperature and that is running the fan on the medium speed setting which is still quiet. The second fan I purchased for my H96 MAX media player which uses a Rockchip 3399. This box runs hot and was causing my Antutu score to be 65000. After using the second fan placing the media player on top of the fan blowing air up though the bottom of the media player my Antutu score jumped to 105000. Just from the cooling of the fan. These fans are worth every penny. Very quiet. Well built. Rubber spacers on both sides of the fan. 3-speed fan control. Buy it to cool your overheating electronics. You won't be sorry.
The first set of two fans were a breeze to connect to USB power from my PC. The second pair connected to the first even easier. The cables are long enough and the fans are designed for a variety of placement options. I used one suggested by a friend that I was not even considering. They are very quiet and even in low keep my audio gear that has gigantic heat sinks that get quite toasty nice and cool, and that's on medium speed setting. Exceeded my expectations. Shipping was quick satisfying my need for immediate gratification (or nearly) :)
