Not a bad kit, just not as detailed as many other 1/350 kits. On the other hand, it goes together very nicely and looks good when completed.

Very good value for money. A good challenge for a learner, but if you're patient and take your time, you will be rewarded with a beautiful display model.
Grandson enjoying every minute of making it
The model is pretty good, but it does require extra work to remove some mold lines, most accessories from other bismark 1/350 kits will fit, like metal barrels, wooden deck, anchor chains will work but may need some modification. Some of the biggest complaints are like most models its best to paint nearly all parts before assembly which is the opposite to what the instructions say to do. Some parts are almost ensured to break due to how they are held onto the spruce. And the plastic does not seem to hold paint well, along with having to use some putty in some parts to fill very clear gaps that shouldn't be there. Final downside is how hard it is to find a paint list for this ship. But all in all I am glad I purchased it. And after some hard work it turned out ... And after some hard work it turned out good.....then I let my neice and nephew help paint and assemble it so whilst objectively it looks worse its the best model I have because they could help and build memories together.
Academy model. Good price and very fast international shipping. Would buy again.
First I would like to say that Academy Tank Models are second to none. Way better then Tamiya Tanks speaking on 1/35 scale. Academy 1/350 scale is nothing but a poor copy of the Tamiya battleships. I would recommend the new Revell 1/350 level 5 Platium Edition Battleships, much more true to life then both Tamiya and Academy could produce. I give this model only one star only because Academy really blew it on the 1/350 scale size ships please go back and re-tool your molds. Really bummed Ling Cod Mike PS about almost 40 years of modeling.
This model is not what I would usually buy But I'm not disappointed its really good better than I thought, was really fast in despatch received it in a couple of day which was really good well packaged . But that's as much as I can say at this time because I haven`t got around to building it as yet so watch this space.?
This kit has the potential of being a good model. It has good detail, especially for it's price, and overall is a good rendition of the Bismarck. Where it falls down is in the execution. The quality of the moldings are substandard. There is excessive flash on the parts. Especially where the two halves of the mold didn't fit together precisely during the process, resulting in deformed parts. Other parts simply don't fit and required modification.
