This fine unit is built with only the most sturdy materials in the universe. Although robust it is equally elegant and ties my bathroom walls and floor together like a work of art. Before this bad Larry came into my life there was just a rectangle shaped hole in my floor and my heart. My only regret is that our path’s didn’t cross earlier.

Bought these to replace old white, and rusting, registers. This is a clean looking sturdy floor register. It does not have a distinct brushed look (but who's looking that closely anyway?). Has a much more modern appeal which is what we were after, especially after removing the carpet for light colored hardwoods.

Overall not to bad. We were replacing registers from the 1970's, due to rust and plain neglect. The weight of the new registers are lighter (box is plastic) which allows them to move slightly when installed but can be avoided by drilling holes on either side and sinking a screw to hold them down. On the oppisite end of the switch the last slot is larger to mimic the switch end, which I don't prefer it just allows things to fall into the vent when opened and did not notice until they were installed. In retrospect, I probably would be happier if we invested in the cast iron registers although they are 3x more and we needed 8. Not sure on the durability as they were installed 2 weeks ago, and they are still working.

I bought seven of these to change out the builder grade vents in our new home. The Satin Nickel is the perfect colour to blend in with our floors. The vents move easily and are easy to take in and out to clean. I would definitely buy these again. I am just sorry that they don't come in a larger size to change out the cold air return.
I don't understand the good reviews on this item. I think most of them were submitted as part of a promotion. I ordered 10 of these registers online and half of them arrived broken. The top metal part is very sturdy and well constructed but the bottom that goes into the vent is made of plastic junk.
I love these floor registers. They are so pretty. The nickel satin finish is beautiful. I also love the way they are made. They look so much better thsn the old ones. Also they don’t hurt your feet if you walk on them. Very happy with them.
As I was preparing to open the packages, I could hear what sounded like plastic rattling around loose inside. When I opened the first one, the plastic slider that was intended to be used to adjust the opening/closing of the vents fell out onto the floor. Upon opening the second box, two of the vent flaps fell out on the table. Although this is marketed as “steel”, the inside works are cheap plastic with very little holding them together. I returned these items - in pieces - within an hour of purchasing them.
The slotted flooring piece kept separating from the plastic black adjustable vent going into the floor. Would not stay together. I eventually glued it together to make it one piece. Terrible design assembly
Our bathroom fixtures are brushed nickel, so I got this to match. This exterior metal grate is nickel in color, and a painted finish, but not brushed nickel. This replaced an old register in which the adjustable vents directed air in opposite directions. The vents on this register however, direct all the air in the same direction. Not a big deal, but this register happens to be under a towel rack in which the old one blew air into the room as well as on the towels, helping them dry. The plastic mechanism is tight and makes no noise when air flows.
I bought the vent needing a replacement for a vent in my park model RV. Where they had installed it was right in front of the bathtub. When washing my dogs my knee was always on top of the old vent. Needless to say, the cheap one finally gave way. This one is much sturdier and pleasing to look at.
