Destiny 2 is great shooter and a relatively tactical game when you get to end game content. If you wanna really experience it I suggest buying at least Beyond Light and Witch Queen expansions once you try it F2P (sadly you can't play certain old content) You can also do the Vault of Glass raid(join D2 community Discord for LFG) without committing to buying first. An Improvement Over The Original

The original Destiny was a very important game to me, personally. I made friends through it, traveled to new places to see those friends, and even landed a dream job because of it. Although there were frustrating issues with it, Bungie constantly improved it through patches and expansions, introducing new raids and areas for quite a while, so the sequel had a lot to live up to.Destiny 2 improves on the first game in a number of ways. I held off posting a review until I hit Level 20 to get a good feel for this. Destiny was an interesting experience as the base game as released just felt...lean. If you can stand that the gameplay really is nothing more than shoot lots of enemies, only occasionally interrupted by using a special power so you can kill even more enemies, then you should love this game.

Litterly the only thing you'll get is the currently free to play content you can download right now ok whatever platform you play on for nothing. I'm appalled they're even selling this still at any price but for $60? This was the base game with no dlc that was outdated 3 months after release in 2017 and was discounted to $20 soon after. Also before the entirety of the content contained on this disk was removed it was sold for $5 for over 2 years and hasn't been full price in over 5 now, then it was offered completely for free for a few months before being removed. This is an online only live service game that is always changing with content being added and removed constantly and this disk is just the launch state of the game that's been gone for over 3 years.

Exciting game~

I'm a returning player to the world of Destiny. I really liked the first game, and my view on Destiny 2 will be more of the same - as it feels like a continuation of the first honestly. Destiny 2 feels more like an expansion v1.5 more than it does a complete sequel. Classes and combat seem to behave similarly as to what I'm used to. Destiny 2 seems more vivid, vibrant, and robust in it's visuals/graphics overall. Playing this game on a PlayStation 4 Pro, and a Curved 4K Ultra HDTV is absolutely stunning!Areas & Worlds don't seem as barren as they were in the first game either. The inclusion of a map this time around helps a bunch in finding my way around. The open world events are great, as the map gives a timer when they start/end - so you can prepare accordingly.One of the more noticeable improvements to the game are the Engrams. Engrams are now automatically decoded when you pick them up. You no longer need to store them, and go back to the Cryptarch to decode. Furthermore you no longer need to ensure that you're wearing your highest Light Level items (i.e. gear) to decode Engrams, in order to get better gear; The system automatically gives you the best chance of getting the higher Light Level items now (even from items stored in your Inventory).Now for the cons - which are pretty much the microtransactions this time around. I'll name a few here:• Shaders are now one-time use. Although they can drop randomly in the game world, they're a microtransaction purchase from the Eververse vendor now.• Sparrows (aka Speeder Bikes) aren't acquired until level 20. Although the Sparrows can be acquired randomly through playing the game, or through microtransactions from the Eververse vendor.While the Eververse Trading Company vendor still allows the purchase of the in-game currency Silver, you can still purchase Emotes. Emotes were a known a cosmetic item carried over from the first Destiny, so that's not really a surprise. However, the decision to add one-time use shaders is surprising since the system worked well in Destiny... there was no need to change it. This manuever by the publisher is an obvious cash grab to players, regardless to the fact that shaders can drop in the game - that's not the point IMO. If you've played Ovewatch, the purchase of so-called loot boxes will be familiar to you; Bungie is going the same route here, with random emotes, exotic weapon ornaments, shaders, sparrows, etc. dropping from opening these boxes with the purchase of Silver (from real world money).Overall the game feels more polished than the first game, and the exclusion of Grimore Cards was a good move. Game lore can now be learned in-game, without the need to use a website to look up information about what's happening with the story. Voice acting is superb, the music is wonderful & mesmerizing, and the cinematics are great. If you enjoyed Destiny, than you'll enjoy playing Destiny 2. If you're new to the franchise, you can still play Destiny 2 without the need to play the first game.With regards to PvP, there is no longer 6v6 - as it's now 4v4. While this is a point of contention among veterans of the game, it doesn't bother me since I really don't like to PvP. However, with a smaller team, things should feel more balanced (hopefully) - and less overwhelming going against a larger force. I personally like the decision, and this change may make me finally give PvP a try this time around.I give the game 4-stars overall, and I definitely recommend it. Especially if you enjoyed the first game. This is most certainly not a sequel though, but it's more Destiny goodness nonetheless. Two thumbs up!

For this review, I will note that I am definitely a bit miffed by all of this, but I will not let it sway my view too far.The game itself is beautiful. Whether you play on the base PS4 or XB1, or you have the advanced capability of the PS4 Pro, or XB1X, this really shines. Performance has been pretty stable since day 1, and has only gotten better. The few glitches that I have encountered have not been game-breaking, and actually were just kind of funny. Granted, they have tweaked a few things now that the first expansion is out (a separate purchase, FYI), but it mostly works just fine. Characters have been consistent, believable, and enjoyable, especially considering that this is primarily a first-person-shooter. Mechanics have to be solid, and story comes second, but they've stepped up to the plate this time.Packaging is okay. The cover art looked nice, at first, but has become somewhat dull. And since the install will require the same storage as the blu-ray holds anyhow (plus patches), you might be better off with a digital copy, if only to free yourself from having to switch discs. That is up to your preference with discs, having the ability to resell the game, how often you use the disc drive, or play other games/media.Overall, I'm willing to give it 4/5. The mechanics are beautifully handled, the story is great, the graphics look SO much better than Bungie's first Destiny, and the promise is that there is more to come. However, the kickback comes from the shenanigans about certain items being available from purchased engrams, and consumables (like shaders now), being limited, compared to the first game. Between the semi-pay-to-win silliness that Bungie seems to want to continue running, the current attitude toward "lootboxes", and some serious issues that have yet to be completely addressed regarding leveling, item drops, etc., I have to take it down at least one notch. BUT, it's still a great game.

Especially with the hunter, THEY RE-SKINNED 3 FULL SETS OF ARMOR which leaves the hunter with barely any sets to work with.- Micro-Transactions, totally optional and I can careless but some people do. These provide you with emotes, shaders and other gear at RANDOM. You get one of these packs every time you level up so it's really unnecessary.- Same user Interface/map interface than the original Destiny, which is unfortunate honestly.- Servers go down for a very short time for the reset every Tuesday, again I don't care but some people do.Some tips to better enjoy your Destiny experience, JOIN A CLAN! A Clan for end game content is essential, not only do you earn "Clan Engrams" each week that give you POWERFUL gear to help level you up tremendously, if you find a good clan you will always have people to help you out with whatever you need. Pair this with the Destiny companion app (essential for finding fireteams to join and to talk to your clan via chat) and you will infinitely increase your enjoyment!Thanks for reading!

When Destiny received it's last expansion, the team that developed it tried to fix all of the grinding and monotony in the game. They made it easy to progress in level by giving you plenty of options to choose from. Most in-game activities had the potential to give you gear that helped you level. Now, with Destiny 2, it feels like they left that way of thinking behind. Destiny 2 is a real grind-fest in order to level up. Adding to the grind-fest is the severe lack of things to do in the game after you finish it and are trying to hit the current level cap of 305. The fact that they're giving the game away like Halloween candy to try to convince people to buy the expansions tells me I'm not the only one who feels this way about it. If you're not super-duper into FPS wild blasty games (methodical sniping was not an option at all for any of the content that I got through), think hard about paying any money for this game.
