I received this product for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review.I really like these shoes! I have not worn Adidas before & I am happy with them. I wear womens size 8, medium width & these are true to size. I put them on to see how they fit & they were comfortable out of the box. The color is very nice- the stripes look dark grey inside the house, but they are a light purple in the sunshine. The sole isn’t as cushioned as some other brands, but they are still comfortable. I switched out the insoles for my custom ones. I have a “low-volume” foot, so I wear thicker socks to keep my feet from moving in the shoe.I have been wearing the shoes for walking mostly. I haven’t tried them for running yet. I wanted to put some miles on before reviewing these shoes... I've got about 50ish miles on them now and I am really enjoying them. They are lightweight, supportive, and provide just the right amount of cushion. I also like that they are colorful without being over the top.I haven't used these off the pavement, and I'm not sure they would be great for trail running. The material is vented, so any water would ruin the run. They also have a very flat sole, which is great for the track or the pavement. They've been perfect for our local trail (paved) and they are super comfortable.I've only had one minor issue so far and I'm not entirely sure if it was caused by the shoes or just exacerbated... No issues since then... just know that the top is super thin, which helps keep them light, but makes it easy to have the laces dig into your foot.

The shoes are light weight as they should be. While they are soft on the foot strikes, they are a lil stiff in the soles compared to what I am used to. For me though.. the right shoe box can get a lil snug. I like how the laces are a good size. You dont have a lot of left over to flop over the place. The over outside material is comfy, though feels like it runs a lil hot.The tread is pretty flat, so it feels more like a hard dirt kinda shoe if you want to go on trail. Definitly not on loose/gravel terrainThe color of this shoe is black w/ neon green trim, but doesn't glow in dark nor did I not notice any time of reflection for night time running.Overall, I would add it to my stable, but would use it more for the shorter runs

I was excited to receive the adidas Supernova Rise shoes, they looked amazing coming out of the box -a sporty shade of black/blue/purple with bright green accents. They are lightweight and they appeared well made and sturdy. High curb appeal, immediately. Unfortunately, they also looked large and wide. I verified the size, women’s 9, check. So I tried them on.They didn’t feel as oversized on my feet as they looked coming out of the box.In my opinion, they run a half size larger than their stated size, but they are definitely long, wide and somewhat clunky. I wanted so much to like these shoes, but with their lack of an arch support, lack of cushion and lack of springiness that I am accustomed to, I did not feel energized on my run.I gave them a try on the ... MoreI was excited to receive the adidas Supernova Rise shoes, they looked amazing coming out of the box -a sporty shade of black/blue/purple with bright green accents. I wanted so much to like these shoes, but with their lack of an arch support, lack of cushion and lack of springiness that I am accustomed to, I did not feel energized on my run.I gave them a try on the treadmill at the gym, hoping that the even surface might make me change my opinion, but they are just too flat and floppy for me.
First off: They really got the color right. It’s subdued but the purple to lavender moves as you run and changes shades. So they look cool, kinda smokey not a neon glare. It’s nice to be able to pop in somewhere post run and not feel like you’re trying to announce - I RUN! They go with sweats and jeans for zipping around. The fit is really true. I’m a 9.5 to 10 and tested the 9.5. Was surprised it had perfect toe room, my heel stayed in place during runs and they did not stretch out. The tread looked a bit shallow at first so I was curious how well they would hold the surface.I tried them on asphalt, crushed gravel and just regular cross country dirt climbs. Also had the chance to run in rain and some good mud. In all surfaces I was happy with the road grip, even ... MoreFirst off: They really got the color right. I would say they work best on stable ground, but I always felt supported. They dry quick.I usually wear a gel model from another brand which helps support my plantar fasciitis. I had no issues wearing these, but wouldn’t use them everyday just to be safe. All around a comfortable and good looking running shoe.
I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review.I'm quite keen on aesthetics and while I do not typically expect total sleekness when technical shoes are involved (running, hiking), I gotta say the colorways on these Adidas are super slick. But lets get into the meat 'n' grits of the shoe's performance since that's probably what y'all are mainly here for.If you've ever felt your feet hurt after a long run, or that your running shoes perhaps were not providing enough impact cushioning on your treks, look no further! The comfort of these shoes are a cut above any other similar type of runner I've tried in the past. The comfort of these shoes are a cut above any other similar type of runner I've tried in the past. They slip on and immediately you feel like your feet are encased in snug little clouds. Every step is buoyant and feels like you're liable to lift off from the ground altogether. Honestly feels kind of like cheating when you're running.Did I mention how little these shoes weigh? It's ridiculous (in a good way). Probably the lightest pair of shoes I own. This is more noticeable the longer your run is. You'll definitely appreciate it.As far as terrain performance, I reckon these shoes would absolutely excel in a straight street runner environment. Seeing as we don't get many of those (streets) around here, I tested it instead in a more technical gauntlet that we can describe as light-to-moderate trail running. Rough, uneven terrain and debris; your typical nature-walk (or run). They perform great! I have some dedicated trail runners and to be honest I kind of like these more, because they are light and airy plus provide superior cushioning and bounce back. If you're doing anything more heavily technical however, like rough slopes or extreme elevations, I would definitely recommend going for a shoe more geared to the task, as I feel these might be more prone to rolling, and the tread is not quite as grippy. That being said, I had no problem leaping from log to log, or going serpentine down a rocky trail in these.Looking for a street or light trail shoe, look no further. Looking for something to provide relief to those aching feetbones, Supernovas absolutely got your...feet. Great way to put some oomf in your step without much effort on your part. Only thing these can't do is run by themselves.
Like many runners, I am a creature of habit and tend to replace my worn-out shoes with the same make and model, year after year. I had never tried Adidas nor a max-comfort shoe, but all of that changed with the introduction of the Adidas Supernova Rise. Even with max cushioning, it feels much lighter and springier than others I've tried (but not purchased) in that category. As a runner with a high arch and a wide foot, the fit (9.5 mens) also felt custom-made for me — plenty of room in the toe box and across the top of my foot. (I've often felt like my shoes "just" fit, with barely enough lace left to tie after cramming my foot in even when I size up a half step, but these pass the roominess test with flying colors.) I run almost exclusively on pavement, and these shoes really shine on hard surfaces. They feel supportive and comfortable in the heel, as well, for an all-around solid fit. I'm looking forward to putting more miles on these in the coming months! Highly recommended for those looking for some extra cushion without the extra weight often found in this class of shoe. Aside: I would love to see a broader range of colors in this line ... neon green isn't high on my list, but I do love their visibility at night in the dark areas where I tend to run.
Having received these pairs of runners from REI, out of the box, my first impression is that these pair shoes are a looker. Even though I’m not keen on the colorway, the way the shoes stood up is very well structured. I’ve been using these shoes for short runs, walking the doggies and just wearing them all around, and all I can say is these are very comfortable for a pair of running shoes. I gather that these are designed for training runs rather than racing and breaking PR’s. The midsole is very plush. From what I researched, these are a new type of foam material called Dreamstike+ which provides a better cushioned experience than the previous midsole used in the older models. From what I researched, these are a new type of foam material called Dreamstike+ which provides a better cushioned experience than the previous midsole used in the older models. I have not tried the older model, but these shoe’s midsoles give great cushion, but at the same time it feels like it gives you the right amount of bounce for a livelier experience. The midsoles are also taller in height than the previous model. These shoes take the design cues from Adidas’ higher end models, using tall midsoles and a forefoot rocker design. The fit. I have owned runners that are wide fit and narrow fit, and the Supernova Rise, in my opinion, falls in between. For my feet, it’s like the Goldilocks zone in regards to comfort. It captures your feet without constricting them, and at the same time, it provides your foot ample toe box space. The breathable and flexible upper mesh design contributes greatly in providing comfort during long hauls. In closing, if you want a pair of runners for daily training and wish to go longer and still feel comfortable, you might want to give the Adidas Supernova Rise a shot. If you’re someone who decided to give running a go, these runners will not turn you off away from the sport. And better yet, if you just want a pair of shoes to wear comfortably all day, you should give these a try.
6 ft, 200# long-course triathlete. Ruck for the hunt. 10.5 US Men’s shoe.Ran these Adidas Supernovas for some base runs plus a short and long ruck under 65lb loads. It’s a nice shoe at a more reasonable price point than my customary running shoe. For a moderate-cushion shoe, the Supernova provides me cushioning that I perceive to be pretty similar to my current (max/extreme cushioning) shoe, although I do prefer the more forgiving sole of my other shoe. That said, it feels like a very forgiving, generous shoe for the “moderate” cushioning class.Weight wise, it’s a tenth an ounce heavier than my other shoe, which surprises me because the Supernova somehow feels light, airy and responsive. It feels agile. It has a comfortable upper material and and generous toe box. I find them breathable and cool on the foot.My US 10.5 fit as expected, understanding that with Adidas I run between 10.5 and 11 depending on the purpose of the show (ie, for which sport it is built).Listed as a neutral shoe, I did perceive a little pronation on the running stride, and I felt that it was becoming uncomfortable at mile 5 of one run. That could be explained as simply part of the break-in process, and in fairness I’m probably being super-alert and perhaps overly critical for the sake of a thorough review. That said, I’m not excited for more 10k plus runs on them. I might keep them around for shorter runs, or consider them for short races as, again, they feel light and fast.On the ruck, I think I’m really starting to like the Supernovas. The cushion feels really accommodating on the heel strike, which for better or worse is to my benefit. I really appreciate what I perceive to be only modest rocker on the toe, as I’m not a fan of feeling too much roll forward under load. Unfortunately, as I did on a longer run, I started to feel some discomfort at around 1:15hrs of a 1:45hrs of ruck. It might be that these shoes just don’t quite have everything I need for the longer efforts. All in all, the Supernova is, on initial use, a comfortable and appealing shoe. At the price point and for what it’s intended, I think it’s out-performing my expectations, although I’m not necessarily in love with it. Nonetheless, a solid 4/5 stars for comfort and value!
I’m a casual runner who regularly runs 3-5 miles, 4-5 times per week. Most of my runs consist of trail running with some on asphalt and street. i haven't worn Adidas in many years and was pleasantly surprised. This review is based on runs I did in San Francisco at Golden Gate Park and The Presidio. I’ve logged about 20-miles with the Adidas Supernova Rise in size 11.5 Men's. These fit a bit large compared to my other shoes. The support is stable and the fit is very accommodating. I feel consistent support from the stable design of the midsole that simultaneously provides a hefty bounce with each step on the ground. It is lightweight and breathes very well making my feet feel fresh after climbing some hills in the city by the bay.
