Adidas Terex AX4 Gore-tex.

Bought these as a replacement for my Terex Swift R3s.Initial thoughts are positive. Have worn them on three walks, great fit, nice solid sole, great grip.Although they are true-ish to size, I'd probably order a half size bigger than you normally wear, as with the Gore-tex liner, they can feel quite snug, especially with thicker socks.I'm normally a 10.5 in Adidas, gone for an 11 with these, and they're perfect.Very happy with the purchase so far, and would recommend.

Decent (not great) trail shoe

These are fine for the price, but not my favorite trail shoe. Have been using them on short, easy hikes. Stable but not super comfortable. They run a little small to size. I normally wear a 10.5. Would be more comfortable in an 11.

I bought the size that fits me with all brands I wear, Asolo, Merrell, Vasque, Garmont, and more. The Terrex are oddly shaped, unlike those brands. In my size the length seemed ok, but the shoes were exaggeratedly large and floated around my feet. Even with laces as tight as possible, I could not get them snug, tight lacing would only result in weird uneven pressure points. My feet would hurt from all the movement around my feet and I could not wear them.

Lite, comfortable and affordable
25 January 2024

I use these shoes exclusively in 3 gun matches. They are lite, and comfortable to stand in all day (8-10 hours) they feel very well made but also flexible enough to run in. I only gave the adidas 4 stars because the insoles are very thin and do not feel well made. I replace the insoles out of a broken down, broken in pair of shoes I had and they made a nigh and day difference.

Not as good as prior versions
26 December 2023

I’ve been buying this model of shoe for years (this is my 3rd pair), but the fit has changed over time. They feel wider in the front and a little bit loose compared to prior versions. Also, the shoe laces are the cheaper lightweight ones.

On the fence
18 October 2022

The Adidas Terrex AX4 concept failed to meet my expectations. The size 10 felt a half-size too small for me and I found myself frequently retying to find a comfortable tension level. I'll continue to wear these for brief periods hoping they'll eventually be usable.

Perfect in every way
19 October 2022

I’ve worn a variety of Adidas in size 13 for 25+ years but with all the sizing comments about this model, I wasn’t sure what to order. I went with my usual 13 and they’re fine - slightly snug but very comfortable and extremely supportive. Arch is exactly where it should be and toe room is adequate. For reference, I wear size 12D in J&M Melton oxfords, Bass Weejuns, Bates tactical boots and Red Wing work boots. I wear 11.5E in Justin Ropers and 11.5D in Alden 403 boots. After a couple weeks of wear, I’d highly recommend the AX4’s for overall quality construction and comfort with support. This was my first purchase from this site and I won’t hesitate to order from them again in the future.

These shoes deserve a good workout in difficult terrain!
19 July 2024

My previous pair of these AX4 Goretex hiking shoes (bought only recently) were given a good workout in often difficult terrain in Scotland, and I was so pleased with them that I bought this second pair. The shoes gave me great reassurance when balancing on slippery boulders across water (for example), and come at an excellent price. And compared to similar shoes from another supplier (which soon looked very tired), these cleaned up so easily and still look fab. I bought size 9.5 when I usually wear a 9, and there is plenty of room. Very pleased.

Versatile walkin' shoes with a wide forefoot
26 October 2023

These are very comfortable and durable. Great for hiking, but also nice for casual use. The black ones in particular are a good low-key look for city walking, without crazy colors that clash and draw too much attention. My feet have a wide last (the widest part of the foot) that makes a lot of hiking shoes uncomfortable, but these are plenty wide in the forefoot, unusually wide even. Overall, a great walkin' shoe.

Waste of money,
19 September 2024

Bought these in June and what an absolute disappointment they are worn most days 4 out of 7 I do lots of walking in all weather's and everytime I wear these trainers they leak like a seive, and wet feet are not pleasant especially when your walking up and down your local walking trails, the interior of the shoe has gone through exposing the inner carcass of the trainer the sole has almost gone through no tread to maintain traction, and the sole is so thin you feel every stone. These may be great for the urban jungle but for hill and delve absolute waste of money. Seems Adidas have gone for quantity over quality, think I'll stick to unbranded trainers at least they are true to what you buy not what you receive buying a premium marque. Seriously let down by a premium ... MoreBought these in June and what an absolute disappointment they are worn most days 4 out of 7 I do lots of walking in all weather's and everytime I wear these trainers they leak like a seive, and wet feet are not pleasant especially when your walking up and down your local walking trails, the interior of the shoe has gone through exposing the inner carcass of the trainer the sole has almost gone through no tread to maintain traction, and the sole is so thin you feel every stone.
