ADVOCATE is a high-end product to control different parasitic infections in cats. This once a month topical solution treats heavy flea infestation and prevents re-infestation. It acts as the best prevention treatment for heartworm disease in cats. The easy to apply solution treats and controls fleas, ear mites, hookworms and roundworms, and protects cats from their harmful effects. Advocate protects your cat from common gastrointestinal nematode worms and help to protect you and your family from the harmful effects of contracting worms from your cat. It is the only product that kills the two parasites causing lungworm disease in cats, which causes irreversible damage to the lungs. Advocate is safe for kittens from 9 weeks of age. How does it work? ADVOCATE is all-in-one parasitic treatment. It contains two major ingredients imidacloprid and moxidectin. The key ingredient moxidectin is highly effective in preventing and controlling heartworms and intestinal worms by disrupting nerve transmission resulting in the paralysis and death of the parasite. The other active ingredient imidacloprid, directly attacks the nervous system of the flea to cause paralysis and subsequent death. The topical treatment affects re-infesting fleas within 3 to 5 minutes and kills them within 1 hour. Advocate kills flea larvae in your cat’s surroundings within 20 minutes of contact with the active ingredient and breaks flea lifecycle. Thus, the treatment controls various infestations. Advocate is also water-resistant.

Much as I would prefer something less "chemically" to put on our cat, this is really the better of the alternatives. Easy to use and a good size pipette. Got to be careful not to get any liquid on your fingers, though. Doesn't smell at all nice. Always a good deal here and the free postage is great... thankyou for that...also the discount you sent me. I'm quite sure our cat disagrees totally, but this is one product that is necessary for his wellbeing. We had to have a dog of ours put to sleep because of heart worm, a condition which we were ignorant of, and we swore that if we ever had another animal companion we would make sure to use a similar product to this one for cats...and we did. As said using this is better than the alternative.

Luckily I used the one tube between both cats, and not a tube each, even though they are 4kg+ each. The next morning Seraphina had diarrhoea and gel-like blood in her poo. My vet advised she's had a reaction to the Advocate, which I have never used before. 2 days later WINSTON started with diarrhoea and he vomited twice but has never vomited in his life. It's week 2 and they are still having diarrhoea, so we are trying to amend their diet to be sure they're getting the vitamins they need, thankfully they are still happy. If I had known there was a risk, I would not have applied this and stuck to my regular tablets for worms etc. So heartbroken and feeling guilty and will not be happy until My 2 British shorthair babies are back to their best health.

Concerned with hair loss on application site.

I purchased Advocate after reading good reviews about it for my new adopted kitten. For all three treatments I have done for the cat so far, I observed he scratches his head even more, when he wasn't before we did the first application. I examined him closely but did not find any flea so I think the scratching are observed right after the flea treatments. The first two applications were not entirely smooth, I managed to just stain the back of his neck before he ran away. At the third application, I succesfully parted the fur at the back of his neck and squirted the treatment directly on his skin, as in the instruction. Easy to use, seems to work
19 March 2022

I have been using this since I got my little boy. I use this one because the RSPCA uses it. It is easy to apply and smells good. It appears to work, as I haven't seen any of the target organisms on my boy. Just make sure you apply it high enough on the neck and head that your little darling can't lick it off. My husband applied it once and he put it too low on the neck. My little boy licked some off and was sick and not moving much for at least 5 days. That only happened the once and it has been good otherwise.

The product itself is good although my cat is indoor only and no fleas are seen. However was disappointed to see same product at least $30 cheaper elsewhere.I appreciate that I collect rewards points and I do chase these, but not $30.Will be checking prices next time.

Reliable Product
13 January 2023

I've been using this product for years on my cats, and it has always been effective - they not once had any parasites. The only downside I realised recently is that it doesn't also cover ticks. It's not a huge issue as my boys are indoor only, but occasionally I'll take one of them outside who loves to walk on harness, so it is something to think about.

28 July 2022

I didn't order this product. This product came about from going into my Auto Delivery mode to pick and choose the products I really wanted. Then I got the WHOLE AUTO DELIVERY SENT TO ME all the while I was picking and choosing. Then Petcircle delivered them both on the same day. This happened TWICE! Surley this must happen toother people too?

Not many but she did have fleas nevertheless. We told him we had been treating her with a well known popular and not cheap brand. He said the only effective way to prevent fleas and many other parasites in dogs and cats is to use Advocate. He gave us some to try and over the many years since our pets have been completely flea and worm free.We still isolate our pets from others as much as possible but we have confidence in knowing our four legged family members are very safe from catching nasty parasites from all sorts of sources when we ensure they have their regular dose of Advocate.Advocate is different from other brands because it actually works - always !

Well tolerated & no negative side-effects

2 years ago we swapped over to Advocate, from another similar 'coverage' premium brand, when the latter ceased to work on the fleas that our two hilariously playful & endearingly affectionate, 4 y.o. Burmese siblings pick up, during their daily, 60 minute, fully-supervised & fenced backyard only, outside 'playtime'. Works well, no hassles
4 April 2022

I suppose many of the flea spit on treatments are quite similar and once you have that basic cover unless your cat is allergic to certain ingredients etc what does it really matter. But I still read the blurb on them all when purchasing and for some reason always find myself back at this one. It works, its easy, it does have a slight smell for the first 4 -8 hrs after application but nothing thats makes cuddles off, and its totally gone by the morning anyway. Pet circle delivery nice and quick too - which if you're anything like me and sometimes a bit unorganised, is extra helpful......
