Have a few AEG 18V tools, driver, 1/2" impact & sub-impact guns. All good/great tools.Decided to try the hedge trimmer, have found it a bit under powered. Says good for upto 25mm diameter. Hmmm, understand that would be the softest plant material you can find. Still a bit disappointed when it made really hard work of approx 12-14mm bottle brush green twigs.Did think about the 56v version, didn't want to start a whole nother battery/charger set-up though & it does look heavy.Suggest a good unit for light to very mild work. Forget moderate level.May need to take it back to Bunnings & up-trade to the big brother....

This hedger is great. Everything you'd want inn a hedger HOWEVER it 'could' be a bit lighter. I'm an average male with average strength. Using below shoulder level is 100% fine. Just when you want to trim a lot up higher is might become an issue for some. It is NOT ridiculously heavy - just a bit heavier than I think it should be compared to others I've had.Also it SHOULD come with TWO batteries for this price - that';s a definite! If you can come to terms with the little bit of overweight then you'll be fine as, having said that, it is beautifully balanced front to rear so they mitigate the weight issue a bit with great design. This is my second 18V 550mm FUSION Hedge Trimmer.I bought, both of my hedges from Bunnings Sydney Australia .The first one I bought I used for few years with no problems at all,I do have a large garden with a lot of hedging to do every time I use my hedger,I use a minimum for four hours, unfortunately my first edger start to have a small problem so I took my hedger back to Bunnings to send it back for repair on the warranty I wasn't sure how long will take before the hedger gets repaired so I purchased my second one not realising it would take only two weeks for my hedger to get repaired and sent back to me. I'm very happy with the product from AEG and the service they're providing.

Great package with battery and charger plus bonus redemption either a 4ah battery or blower. The hedger is a quality product, no problem cutting through hedges, the swivel handle is a useful feature. Battery life is good, have tried other brands in the past and none match the quality feel of the AEG, another good feature is the blades are replaceable it’s not the cheapest on the market but quality does cost more I have no hesitation in recommending this hedger.
in term of the weight, it’s light even with the big battery, but still make me strained for couple of minutes due to the length of the trim.The strength is fascinating as it can cut a brand as big as my finger.As a battery machine, The noise isn’t bigLast but not least, it’s working fine until it’s stop without any reason, it’s not the issues with only AEG, I’ve tried other brands with similar problems. So let buy it at a store where you can make a return or replacement. A long warranty term is an advantage.
We have extensive hedges for our front yard and im sick of cutting extension cords to our corded unit. So i bought the AEG 18v hedge trimmer.What a fantastic decision that was, no more cut cords, and the AEG is so convenient, just grab and go... our hedges are from 60cm to over 180cm in height and a metre wide and many, many metres in length..This just powers through it all, i wish it had a sweeper attachment, and its a fair bit of money, but its so good i can overlook that. It even looks great.It is well balanced, and not overly heavy, my partner can also use it without any issues. After starting a hedge down my 50m driveway, I had been pruning the hedges with a set of long nosed pruning shears.The AEG Hedge trimmer does the job in a fraction of the time, has more than enough power to cut through decent sized branches and the 2.5 AH battery I use lasts an incredibly long time.This is just one tool from the AEG range I have in my shed, all devices are well built, work very well and I've never had a problem with any of them. I'll be using AEG for the foreseeable future, love how the 18V batteries fit a range of devices too.

I was quite surprised at how good this hedge trimmer was. It is well balanced. Lightweight and has more than enough power.For the small amount of hedge trimming that I do, I was still sick of mocking around with trying to start my multifunction motor. It is still a joy to just pick up this product, put a battery in and get to work.Replacement blades are also not that expensive.The battery also lasts a very long time. I have switched to 58 volt so I wasn't sure how good the 18 volt would be. But this product has been more than adequate.
I spent 4 hours last weekend with my old Ozito hedger and loppers cutting my old hedge down to a more manageable height. I only got 2/3rds done before the heat and frustration got the better of me. On the following Monday, I bought this hedger and completed the last third of the hedge in about 30min. I was worried that I should have purchased the 58V version, thinking the 18v would not have enough grunt to cut through the Murraya, with branches up to 2cm. I was wrong, handled it easily and was glad I didn't have to lug the extra weight of the bigger system.I got home and registered the product to find there was a redemption offer, so got a second battery for free. Making it excellent value.
