I HAVE AROUND 300m2 OF LAWN WHICH I CAN MOW ON ONE CHARGE USING MULCHING MODE IF CUT DRY AND NOT TOO LONG (20 - 30mm). I GET THE SAME PERFORMANCE WITH THE CATCHER. THE MULCHING MODE DELIVERS RESULTS AS GOOD IF NOT BETTER THAN MY OLD MASPORT WITH A CATCHER. IT IS POWERFUL ENOUGH TO DEAL WITH LIGHT HEDGE TRIMMINGS AND THE STEEL BASE IS SOLID AND FORGIVING OF HITTING THE ODD UNSEEN SOLID OBJECT.I HAVE HAD TO CUT THE LAWN ON OCCASION WHEN SLIGHTLY WET AND A LITTLE LONGER THAN NORMAL. THE MOWER DEALT WITH THESE CONDITIONS WITH RELATIVE EASE. I DID HAVE TO CHANGE THE BATTERIES 3/4 OF THE WAY THROUGH BUT THE TWO 3.0AMH BATTERIES FROM MY FUSION DRILL DEALT WITH THE REMAINING LAWN WITH EASE.

Brought as a Birthday gift for my wife. She was surprised how easy it was to use and not being too heavy. she was expecting the changing of the batteries would be difficult but that wasn't the case saying that was easy. As I'm not the best at reading instructions it took around 10 mins to work out how to start it. Cuts very well, battery charge lasts till both back and front yards are cut. Only thing my wife struggles with is adjusting the height, i just put it down to being new and should loosen up the more times it is used. Was skeptical on how a battery mower would perform. Very impressed and would recommend.

I did a lot of research before making my AEG purchase. I notice a lot of negative reviews however you need to understand a battery powered devise is only as good as the batteries running it. This model tries to cover all basis with a side waist, catcher and mulch capability. Yes the cowling will be a little lower to acheive this and reports of grass flying everywhere, well, you need to remove the mulch plug.Cuts really nice and plenty of power for 36V, Id suggest go no lower. I already had an AEG drill so just bought this skin however likely need to purchase more batteries, I only have two 4AH which run it for about 20m tops. The alternate that comes with chargers and two 6AH batteries is a good deal. I really liked the metal cowling on this mower, you will run over sticks and rocks from time to time. This concerned me with the Ryobi models with plastic cowlings. Good mower for a house block. Do your home work before a purchase though. Petrol mowers will always be far more powerful. Negative reviews on this product I looked at are all based on high expectations the product was not designed for. I am happy, highly recommended.

Good replacement for my 4 stroke
11 January 2021

Good replacement for my old petrol mowerMy 4 stroke mower started playing up again recently, nothing a service wouldn't fix, but instead of getting it serviced I decided it was time to look at a new mower. Research showed me that I was looking at similar money for a 4 stroke or electric, based on the size I was looking for. My old mower was 19" and having approx. 700m2 of lawn to mow I wasn't going to go any smaller than an 18".I got straight to work with it this morning, after charging up the batteries overnight. I usually mow weekly, primarily using the mulch function, but it had been about 2 weeks between trims and the lawn was reasonably long & quite thick, in patches. I usually mow weekly, primarily using the mulch function, but it had been about 2 weeks between trims and the lawn was reasonably long & quite thick, in patches. Based on this first mow I've made the following observations:Previously read comments about how difficult the mulch plug was to insert and remove. There is a knack to it and you need to lift and twist to remove, but no more difficult than my old mower.Starting is a breeze and while it's not whisper quiet it's a lot quieter than my old mower and a lot more pleasant to push, without the strong vibrations I had with the 4 stroke. At over 6ft tall I found that the tallest height for the handle is a little low for me, in comparison to my old mower, which could be adjusted almost vertically. Whilst the AEG is lighter, it is a bit more difficult to manoeuvre in tight spaces, in comparison to my 4 stroke, due to the handle sticking so far back.I chose setting 4 to mow & found it easy to use. I did drop to 3 & 2 in a couple of areas, with noticeable increase in the revs, but did not find the mower much harder to push than the old one.Mowed for about 40mins (approx 400m2) before it was time to charge the batteries. Will be interesting to see if I can get through a full mow in a weeks times, with the grass at a more manageable level. Having to wait for the batteries to charge wasn't a big deal, as I used the time to do some things, like sweeping where I'd already mown, that I'd normally do after I finished the whole yard. I waited until the batteries had re-charged to approx. half, with the 3rd LED flashing, but was only able to mow for about another 20mins (approx. 200m2), so had to do a short charge to finish the yard off.One thing I did find is when I checked the mulch plug, after finishing, there was a lot of grass around the outside of it, something that also use to occur with my old mower, but no where near as much, but not a major issue.Future experimenting will determine if I can get through the entire yard with one charge or whether I'll need to buy more batteries or just change how I do the yard, maybe with doing the whipper snipping while waiting for the batteries to recharge.Overall though I'm pretty happy with the new AEG mower, quieter, no need to fill first thing, just put the batteries in an off I go, no refuelling (ok charging batteries is technically refuelling) mess & better for the environment.

Great 36v Mower from AEG
7 March 2023

Great mower and easy use. I replaced a petrol mower with this 36v Battery model, as I had other AEG garden products which I rate highly. If there was one thing that I think could be improved it would be to add a lower notch to be able to scalp the lawns if required for lawn maintenance.Batteries last ages for me and a quick to charge. I don't think I will run out of battery doing my lawns. It's alot quieter than the petrol mower too. The redemption bonus was a great incentive too.Another great product from AEG

Honest 1 month review.

I let the grass go a bit for about 3 weeks when it was raining heaps. My 18v AEG snipper couldn't quite handle the thickness of what I had to go through as it went into overheat protection after about 5 squares of dense grass. So I got this kit after putting it off and contemplating the commitment for over a year. I have about 100 square meters of yard (50-50 front and back) and this kit handles it great. First time I used it on damp shin height grass with 20% knee height and it did the lot on the 3rd height setting from the bottom and had 50% (2 dots) remaining on both batteries after I finished. Emptied the catcher 5 or 6 times (3/4 of a wheelie bin). After 2 weeks and no rain, I mowed the lot again, emptied the catcher twice and had 75% (3 dots) remaining on both ... MoreI let the grass go a bit for about 3 weeks when it was raining heaps. I claimed the 2 extra batteries via online redemption but somehow I dont think I'll be needing them. Probably shoulda redeemed the blower instead. Feels fairly solid. The catcher feels and looks a little light duty but doesn't blow any dust and does the trick. A hand-scoopfull of clippings get caught on a lip just inside the mowers left edge before it gets to the catcher but can be left till the last emptying (it's just satisfying for me to swipe it out). Weighs noticeably less than a regular mower but still heavy enough to stop a thief from passing it over the back fence. Can talk over the motor quite easily... like, realy easily, the loudest part is when the blades hit the grass. Very happy so far.

Just go for it! It's brilliant.
17 November 2022

Works well. The batteries last longer than expected and manage our 400m2 lawn easily - even with Northland Kikuyu grass. It's hushed - easily able to hold a conversation with someone while mowing the lawns. The Mulch system also works well and is perhaps the biggest game changer, as I don't need to empty catchers or revoke bags of grass clippings. The batteries must have an overload or overheat sensor on them as sometimes, after about 20-30mins of hard cutting in a hot day it will stop and needs a break before it will run again - I did a bit of googling and i think the battery heat that is probably doing it. my feedback on this would be it would be great if the lawn mower itself somehow showed you that this was happening, rather than having to guess and google!.

MAKE THE CHANGE TO ELECTRIC
27 January 2023

This thing is a beast. I was hesitant to switch from petrol to electric. But have been impressed with the power of the AEG cordless drills and impact wrenches at work, that I decided to try their outdoor range for my own power tools at home. The mower feels as strong and stable as a petrol mower and does NOT lack any of the power, even in thick or tall grass. It just runs through it. Its easy to set up and use, stores away really nicely and the batteries last long enough for my midsize lawn. Very impressed.

Super easy
29 November 2022

I bought this because it came with a brush cutter by redemption which makes it a great deal for $899. It is super convenient being able to stand it up on its end to store out of the way, and I love love love that I no longer have to pull start my stubborn petrol mower that was hard to start after long periods of non use like over winter. I won’t miss oil and fuel either. Push a button and away you go. It seems to ha e good power, and adjusts its revs if it figures out the grass is thicker which is a nice battery saving feature. The few things I don’t like are that the rear wheel is offset, so it sticks out, which is annoying when you want to mow along an edge. Also, the side eject flap catches grass. And lastly the catcher is a bit small and seems flimsy. Overall ... MoreI bought this because it came with a brush cutter by redemption which makes it a great deal for $899. The future of mowing
9 January 2023

I have owned this lawnmower for for about three weeks now, and have used it four times. The lawnmower performs superbly and I would argue that it out-performs my previous four-strike mower.I only have two issues and they are; the adjustable height could benefit by reducing the cut height to at least 12mm. The second issue relates to handle at the front of the mower. The handle gets in the way of cutting nice and close to a fence line or wall.Overall the experience, usability and performance of the 36v 18" fusion lawnmower has exceeded my expectations and has converted my opinion of electric mowers altogether.
