AEG 8kg 6000 Series Front Load Washing Machine LF6ES8431A

My first impressions are that this is a well thought through machine, with sleek lines and a spec to match. I have owned many washing machines in the past including AEG washers and maybe its because of the new developments in parts, however, this seems so much quieter than anything I have had before. Only when the drum is on full spin can you hear the whisper of it running and that is only when you’re straining to see if it’s on! The machine as you would expect from AEG is great looking unit, white with a large clear red display, a 9kg washer with a 1400 spin speed, rated A++ for efficiency and given a Gold on review web sites for energy saving. It doesn’t stop there a washing drum designed pattern to help create a layer of bubbles between the fabrics and the drum to stop them rubbing, a detergent drawer with 4 slots, pods, pre-wash and then the usual main wash & softener slots. As you imagine with a name like AEG it comes with a full complement of setting accessible from the solid clicking dial and highlighted on the clear large red display with 10 pre-set washes: Eco 40-60, Cottons, Synthetics, Delicates, Wool\Silk, Steam, MyMix 69min, 20min 3Kg, Outdoor and Anti-Allergy Vapour 1. Eco 40-60 - Perfect for colourful items which is designed specifically not to fade your fabrics. 2. Cottons – Maximizing the load at 9kg load and full at 1400 spin. The standard Cottons program lasts over 3 hours 5 minutes; however, this can be reduced if necessary, by using the time saving option. 3. Synthetics - Great for all sports cloths. 4. Delicates – A mild wash with lower spin to protect delicate laundry items. 5. Wool\Silk – Given the Woolmark this programme can wash your ‘hand wash only’ items. 6. Steam – A great time saver, cleaning and removing the need for ironing in sub 30mins. 7. MyMix 69min – A great clean, whilst using minimal energy during the cycle. 8. 20 Minute Quick Wash – This only takes small washes of 3kg or less, if you are in a hurry it’s a great programme. 9. Outdoor – As the name indicates this programme is perfect for mud and grass-stained items of clothing. 10. Anti-allergy Vapour – Maybe the best till last! This programme removes bacteria and excess detergent, fantastic for delicate skin or sufferers of allergies. I have to add that even though it has everything you could wish for an is quitter than any machine before they haven’t forgot to style it to ensure its sleek looks would be at home in anyone kitchen or laundry room.

AEG soft water washing machine

I looked for a new washing machine for months, looking at reviews and comparing prices. I put off buying this one due to the cost, who would pay 1k for a washer when you can get one for a quarter of the price? Well. I'd had my previous AEG for twenty years and it went off only twice. You get what you pay for. I love my new machine, 9kg large drum, 1600 spin, quick 50 min and steam only programmes with added salt, my clothes come out amazing. I did consider the auto dose but decided against it because I use different detergent for whites and colours. Added bonus with this one is 5 yrs warranty and 18 months interest free. What's not to like?! If you are looking and are undecided, buy this one, you won't be disappointed.

Decided to change to other brand one after 1.5 yrs

So, when we were at the shop, this machine sounded really great. I just loved the steam wash and dying to try. However, they washes forever if you are not reduce the time. I never herd about machine takes more than 3 hours to finish the one cycle. (So does the dryer as well. Gosh.. you and adjust the time to shorter on washing machine but not the dryer.. you have to wait for 3 hours + for your loads... If you choose shorter - iron or closet - than they won't fully dry... what the.... ) I have sensitive skin that we are not using fabric softener. However, we found some of our clothes has not straight side lines. After maybe 5 shirts got twisted, we searched about this and turns out if you are not using fabric softener it could happened. So, since then I was trying to use fabric softener and guess what. Fabric softener doesn't drain from cotton cycle (Which is my normal wash use). It keep adding and adding the water and getting look gross and gross. I was trying to watch how many washes it will drain the fabric softener. I fallowed the instructions to cleaning the washing detergent drawer and machine and still the same. Anyway, after my husband's new shirt got ruined he said "this time, I don't mind getting a new washing machine and dryer" Now, I am dying to get a new washing machine and dryer. Not happy at all.

Pros: Perhaps not as quiet whilst filling with water as other reviewers have mentioned , though we have unusually ( extremely ) high cold water pressure in our flat . Otherwise very quiet . Really like the larger drum + warning if overloading . Good choice of programmes and really nice each programme shows you how long it will take , its maximum spin speed ( adjustable up to that point ) and counts down the minutes as it progresses through the programme . Physical control dial feels mechanically well made ( to select programmes ) and the touch controls for temperature / spin speeds & other features work well . Attractive design and easy to understand .Our Hotpoint Aquarius didn't last very long , so decided to pay more for AEG . So far very pleased and feel we made a good choice .Lastly , tried the 20 minute wash yesterday . Used only fabric conditioner as thought the usual capsule for a longer wash might not have time to rinse away .T-shirt , synthetic doormats + a synthetic fleece , all came out smelling fresh , looking clean and were surprisingly dry - so quite impressed . The synthetic fleece absorbs a lot of water , so expected it would need a separate spin programme , but didn't . Cons: Only slight improvement - the door handle does feel a bit flimsy , which is not in keeping with the overall impression of good design and quality .

Washing machine with great modes

After having a combo for few years now, with close arriving of second baby we decided it is time to have washing and drying separate since time is about to become even more precious. After using this new AEG for several weeks I can conclude it was a good purchase. When washing up for a first time clothes came out with a slight smell or some technical product but was gone after 2 washes ( probably cause by new parts inside the machine). There are various modes available, and they all work good. I didn’t notice clothes to be cleaner because powder is pre-mixed with the water before start of the round, but seller states it is a big advantage. However, it can be mitigated by doing extra rinsing before starting the main wash (handy for kids underwear). Mode I did like is steaming - after that one shirts and other clothes do come with less wrinkles, just as claimed by the seller. Thus ironing can be easier or you might even choose to skip ironing for some items you used to do it (t-shirts, cotton sweaters).
