It is an elegant talking point (and because it is very tall likely to be on display) but a poor choice if you want to grate a range of cheeses. It only has one size of grate holes and is no use at all except for the hardest of cheeses - I gave up trying to grate enough cheddar for my dish. None the less a little useless beauty is to be encouraged.

I love this cheese grater. I saw them using it in a restaurant and wanted one for my home. It is sculptural and works beautifully.
As with most of my Alessi Products, this was one was also purchased to look good in the kitchen. It does this very well and I would award it full marks. However, if you are buying this as a useful working utensil, I would think very carefully. It sure looks pretty but that is about it and as that was why I purchased it, I have no complaints.

I saw this beautiful cheese grater used at a restaurant and I knew i had to find it! It is very tall and sits elegantly on my kitchen island next to my bottles of wine and various exotic salts I cook with. This is definitely a statement piece and is a work of art. It is an attention grabber when we entertain. I highly recommend this grater whether you have it for form, function or both!
Looks so stylish, I have called it he shard cheese grater and it is permanently out in the kitchen. It's is very functional too, the shape working with gravity for easy grating.
Apart from the fact that this is a designer Parmesan grater from Alessi, its size makes it an eye-catcher on the dining table.Unfortunately, the cheese should have some hardness, because otherwise the result is not very satisfactory. But then the next time the Parmesan fitted and it was a poem.Therefore I can recommend the Todo to every gourmet and design artist. It just can't be missing.
Looks great in the kitchen but also much better than those normal little fiddly Parmesan graters.Feels like a proper serious kitchen tool.
