almond Breeze Unsweetened 1 Litre (Blue Diamond)

When we found that my sons could not properly digest cow’s milk, we had to find an alternative. Enter almond milk. While my oldest is not a fan of the unsweetened flavor, he absolutely loves the vanilla flavored Almond Breeze. We even use it in our cooking as well now. It has a sweetness to it that’s not found in cow’s milk, but it brings an extra taste to our meals. I drink it as I’m breastfeeding our youngest because he cannot handle cow’s milk in my system either. It’s delicious, a great source of calcium, has no artificial flavors or additives, is vegan, and is gluten-free. AND it’s YUMMY.

Suitability:I use it for my morning matcha drink, it matches well, but I prefer oatmilkQuality:High quality ingredients. Non-GMO, lactose free, and no artifical flavours or preservatives. A really healthy alternative to whole milk.Taste:I love both almonds and vanilla, so I liked the drink a lot. Neither of the ingredients overpower the other, but there is still a sweetness to it.As someone who's watching my calories, this product is really nice. Its low in calories and sugar, significantly less than other flavoured milks on the market. The packaging was little environmentally rough, but the milk remained unharmed through the bubblewrap.

I love this!

I have bought this product many times! I use it mostly on cereal or in my coffee. When I make my coffee, I have a mug that is large enough to fit a can of soup. I make 10-12 cups in the coffee pot, then I drink one or 2 cups hot and black and let the rest sit until cool. I always save a few empty bottles and put the leftover coffee in them and regrigerate. Sometimes I fill the bottle half full of coffee and half full of Vanilla almond breeze and shake it up. It is very refreshing! I especially like chocolate cherry or berry flavor coffee like this. Almond Breeze is also great to drink by itself and reminds my tastebuds of milkshake. I'm not a fan of regular milk but this is great!!!

New item to my menu.

I really enjoy the packaging allows me to put it up on the pantry shelf until it's time to use. I'm not a hog with the quanity. And the reason I now use it is because of diabetes. I had been using 2% milk but they taught me it's more than going low fat. What I had no idea is the natural occurring sugar in cows milk. No worries they had diagnosed me way back about 50 years ago with diabetes things us teenagers get to deal with. So not wanting to get sicker with diabetes and forced to do injections I adhered to the very very strick menu but then I could still do cows milk but no cakes or candy and an occasional slice of pie if there isn't alot of sugar. So here we are these days little minor adjustment to the menu. Many thanks for having it in stock. Baum, m.

Pleasantly Surprised

I purchased this for the lactose-intolerant members of my family, and ended up also enjoying it. Being unsweetened, it can be used for cooking as well. There is a slightly different flavor since it's coming from almonds instead of cows, so just taste test a little before using in recipes. The only thing it didnt fare well in for me was mashed potatoes, everything else has worked out fine - oftentimes even better! This is also great for my morning coffee, and doesn't upset my stomach the way regular milk and creamers in my coffee do. Overall I'm pleased with this product, and will continue ti purchase it.

Really good

Unfortunately, due to health reasons we have had to cut out dairy. Thankfully there are options like this available. We always get the unsweetened vanilla and love the flavor. It is smooth, not chalky at all. I will either shake it up or use my frother to add to my coffee. Works well for baking, smoothies, a glass with your cookies or cake. I have made ice cream with it but due to the low fat content it didn't freeze very well. However, if you are going for a fruity flavor you can add full-fat coconut cream and it will help with the consistency. It is a little pricey, so if you know that you will use it just get the bigger container, it will be more cost effective in the long run.

Surprisingly More Calcium Than Dairy Milk (by 50%)

We buy this because it's "vanilla" flavored (it does not taste like vanilla) and no sugar added. The one with added sugar is far too sweet. And because it's 50% more calcium than dairy milk - as well as fortified. It's a good choice for milk. I do think they should work on their "natural flavors" because there's something about the taste that seems to only work if you're not tasting it alone. We have been drinking this brand for over 10 years, however, so I don't expect to see a change in flavor anytime soon.Also interesting to see the price increase from July 2022 to January 2023. We bought this for $3.27 and it's currently $3.36. It's not a big increase but just thought I would mention it.

This is my go-to almond milk

I buy unsweetened original Almond Breeze because it has no sugar, a pleasant but not over-powering almond taste and is creamy. I've tried other brands but found some (like Silk) to be watery and chalky. I tried Simply Almond recently ( had a great coupon!) but it had a strong artificial almond extract flavor. I drink almond milk when I want a glass of cold non-dairy milk or use it in milkshakes. I do not use almond milk in coffee or other hot beverages; to me it has an off-taste (regardless of brand) when it is heated.It does have additives to keep it from separating but these are considered safe to use. It has no protein which makes it inferior to dairy milk although it has calcium and vitamin D . Overall, Almond Breeze is a great product.

Watered down?

I love almond milk and have been using it for at least 5 years but could never understand why there were some weeks like I found it watery and other times that I loved it. I do often interchange brands depending on which is on sale, but it wasn’t until this week that I realized this brand is so watery compared to others… I grew up on skim dairy milk, but this is very watery unlike anything. Actually, my cat usually enjoys some of my milk after a bowl of cereal (cats actually shouldn’t have dairy milk). Lately, I have been giving him a small bowl so I could enjoy my own. After buying two of these, I can safely say that both were just as watery that he wouldn’t drink either… maybe it was a batch issue, but it will definitely changes my almond milk purchasing preference.
