The Bionic Tech V3 Protection Jacket features ultra-lightweight, detachable floating Level 2 CE and UKCA Certified Polyhedron Hybrid Technology chest and back protectors and Level 2 Nucleon Flex Pro shoulder and elbow protectors embedded in a highly breathable, race-proven stretch mesh base layer, to offer riders unsurpassed levels of ventilation and superior upper body protection against impacts. Both the dual-zone chest and back protectors have a rigid central zone with a flexible soft compound around the perimeter and are backed by a soft bio-foam padding. On the chest protector, the flexible and soft side wings in combination with the bio-foam padding works as an adaptive system that molds to the chest. The central zone of the chest and back protectors directly behind the highly perforated impact grid are completely open to allow for maximum ventilation. The chest and back protectors are securely held in place via adjustable shoulder straps. With an easy-on-off design, the removable chest protector features a magnetic, quick release lock buckle on the left shoulder while the lower securement is actioned via the adjustable V-belts which run through the ventilated rib guards. The V shape spreads the tightening force over a wider area of the back protector, resulting in a more secure and comfortable fit. The rib guards offer additional coverage in critical areas.

Not sure why people in reviews are saying it won't last half a season when they didn't even have it for half a season... I've used my v2 bionic for 2 seasons of races, riding and now I got the v3 it has better protection and at 6ft 1 inch and 190lbs I had no problems wearing this v3. I hit a tree sideways recently and the side flank protection saved me from a hospital trip/broken ribs

Alpine Stars Bionic Tech Jacket
12 May 2020

Purchased to replace Fox Titan. This jacket is much cooler than my old Fox jacket but its still warm because it is still a jacket. Although you sacrifice some protection It is much cooler if you remove the Spine protector and forearm pads which is a great feature and one of the reasons I bought it. Overall protection is great. A bit of a chore to put on because chest plate has a tendency to get wrapped around the sleeve and it can also be a little trouble to take off because forearm pads are a little bit tight as referenced in the video. Once you have it on and zipped it fits great and all the pads stay in place like they should.-m-2007 HONDA CRF450R--

Alpinestars Bionic Tech V3 Protective Jacket
20 November 2023

I have bought this for skiing and cycling both road and off road. This model was to replace a dianese protection system which was or is 20years old.Why I bought the V3 removable and customizable armor, yes it does all of this and a little bit more. Armored Floating Chest and Back protectors can be fully removed and packed in suitcase for flying and I will wear the material soft top while on the plane etc.Sizing I would normally buy a medium shirt, however much with dianese, alpinestars would be too small if i bought a medium so I have bought a large. (I i speak from experience)This is a quality product and worth the extra cost. The kidney belt is a good fit compared to the Dianesse of 20 years ago which was very good in its dayWhy have a chosen or moved loyality ... MoreI have bought this for skiing and cycling both road and off road. Bad Material Choice
3 November 2023

I've owned this for about 3 months now and it is the worst product I've seen from Alpinestars.Previous to this I have owned the Bionic Tech V2 and enjoyed it.My two biggest complaints about the Alpinestars Bionic Tech V3 Protection Jacket are:1. Material is way too delicate.2. Getting it on and off is a lesson in FRUSTRATION! Seriously. This new V3 version is absolutely horrible to put on. It does not have any shape to it while trying to get it on, getting it off is even worse. The material they have used seems better suited for women's lingerie as it's very delicate. The sleeve tore at the wrist the first time I tried taking it off after a sweaty moto. Once on, I have to say it does fit well, but I think you'll be lucky to get half a season out of it before it ... MoreI've owned this for about 3 months now and it is the worst product I've seen from Alpinestars.Previous to this I have owned the Bionic Tech V2 and enjoyed it.My two biggest complaints about the Alpinestars Bionic Tech V3 Protection Jacket are:1. Best ce2 protection for upper torso.
1 December 2023

Not sure why people are saying it won't last half a season when they haven't owned it half a season...This is great for offroad racing and riding. Had mine since early August and use it daily for dual sport riding my 500 and 690. It does a great job at protection of vital areas. I haven't seen any tears or damage using it daily. Must better than the other brand I was using before. The CE2 is a must if you ride fast.

Good fit for a larger person
21 September 2023

It's brand new, mainly reviewing fit and and such here since folks probably know what they're getting into with CE1 vs CE2 stuff. I am right at the end-cusp of their chest measurements for the XXL and this is a bit snug (expected) and fits well.Having the adjustable elbow straps are a huge plus in regards to the other two options I tried before deciding on this (Leatt Airflow - only CE1 all the way around - while comfy, just didn't have protection I wanted) and the Bionic Tech V2 version (again, CE1 on arms, CE2 on chest/back) and that one had a zipper on the side - really hard to get up over a larger chest. The Leatt lining stuff is more comfortable, though. This one however has a quick release for the chest and a zipper in the middle, making it much easier to ... MoreIt's brand new, mainly reviewing fit and and such here since folks probably know what they're getting into with CE1 vs CE2 stuff. It can be a little clunky getting the arms in while flipping the chest protecotor around since it "technically" stays attached the whole time (you can remove it if you want - but only one side has the 'quick release') but I'm also brand new to the sport, so maybe this is expected. I like A* stuff in general, their street boots are great as well as gloves/jackets I have had. This was one of the few options that were of a lower profile while providing CE2 all around. I would say the fit is as expected with their measurements. Do measure your chest to be sure and while it seems like it's stretched out while putting it on, once zipped it's snug and fits great.

MX protection
21 September 2017

So I purchased this suit based on the name and the reviews and name. Also, to replace my 7 year old EVS body armor which I've loved. However, I felt i'd like the updated protection and coverage over the sternum this suit could provide.I love that it's highly rated protection however, i found it difficult to use. I'll explain, my shirts would get caught on the back when trying to pull, Next after use it found if very difficult to pull off especially the lower forearm protection area. This forearm area is only held on by a sipper which allows for easy removal however when trying to get it off. i felt the amount of pressure/pulling would potentially rip or tear the suit since its so lightly attached. So i'm now looking for something better.-m-2017 HONDA CRF450RX--

Too Hot
3 July 2020

Well made, but too hot for slow speed enduro type riding. Anything above 70 degrees and you're sweating like crazy. It would probably be great for Adventure riding or dual sports where you have more air flow. But for tight single track in hot weather, this jack wears too hot for me.
