Probably it's the best pair of boots available in the market.I tried to take it on and felt immediately fixed protection all around foot and this can help. Leather and plastic materials and extra zip which was very helpful.For the first time... It's not comfortable to walk with these boots because it's not flexible. It could take some time until foot adapts to the boot. It reminded me inline skates boots immediately.Plastic straps and zips will fix foot firmly. Only thing - it's harder to switch motorcycle manual gears with such stiff boot and it will take some time for practice. A-star SMX Plus boots, new condition, crazy low price.....

When I first saw these boots I wasn't looking to buy another pair for motorcycle riding/racing. To be honest I don't have the "extra" money. What mostly caught my attention was the description saying they were an "OPEN BOX RETURN. UNUSED ITEM....." with a crazy low asking price. After confirming the details and looking very close at the photos I couldn't pass up such a great deal and made an offer and much to my surprise it was accepted. The boots were shipped quickly and arrived within the estimated shipping arrival date. I was extremely happy to find when the boots arrived that they were in new condition. There were a few extremely minor scuffs that, to be honest, were barely noticeable. Wearing them around the house I find them to be just a bit snug but very comfortable. I have a pair of SMX6 V2 boots that are extremely comfortable and perform great on my motorcycle. These SMX+ boots are a big step above my other boots in quality and protection and I am sure they will perform even better. I have no doubt they will break in with no problems. In short, these are a pair of one of the best motorcycle boots you can get at a very low price in new condition. I couldn'tbe happier and can't wait to take them for a ride at the track. I highly recommend them!

Crashed in these and my feet hit first! FITS WOMEN TOO

I've now owned two pairs of these boots. As the first pair I did crash in. According to the GoPro (since I have no memory of the event) my feet were the first thing to hit the ground and guess what didn't break? My feet (can't say the same for the rest of my body though). So while I can't guarantee they'll save you every time, I know they have saved my feet at least once! Also they were barely damaged in the crash, and were the only piece of gear/clothing that could be worn again after. I ride everywhere and wear these boots daily. I have had people ask me if i'm wearing snowboarding boots (which is funny since I live far away from any snow). And if they are uncomfortable. The answer is simple- no, these boots are actually very comfortable.In my accident I shattered my pelvis and was unable to walk for 8 weeks and then had to relearn how to walk. I was back on the bike quicker than anyone could imagine and wearing my new pair. Honestly, I feel as if my posture when walking in these boots is improved. They are fairly heavy boots, but their heaviness provides comfort in knowing my feet are well protected and doesn't bother me in the least. So as someone who was temporarily unable to walk and has somewhat of an awkward gait still, these boots are still just as comfortable! I honestly prefer them to my non-riding boots.The style of them is great, they look awesome. I have them in black to keep them looking clean longer. the white stripes will show dirt in time. The white Alpinestars logos on the back and the inner side (close to the bike) have rubbed off over time. The symbol is still there, but the white of it has mostly disappeared.They also fit women, though the website doesn't appear to put them under women's gear. I have a size 39, which is a US 6, and I typically wear boots size 6 or 6.5. My feet are also very narrow but it's never been a concern in these boots. The inner bootie that can be tightened is very helpful for this. I can layer up to 3 pairs of socks with my thermals and feel no discomfort.The airflow is... well, I don't really feel it unless my feet are pointed just right, but I don't mind it. My feet never feel too hot in these boots, nor have they ever felt too cold (though I do layer socks to prevent that). I will say if you ride through a deep puddle and the water kicks up, the perforation on these boots will allow all that water to go straight inside. They took a day or two to dry out after that.The tread on the bottom will disappear if you wear them enough. They're not too slippery to walk in, but avoid stepping on leaves, paper, or other flat objects, these boots won't help with that (especially if you're walking the bike, it can give you a scare, but I've never fallen over due to it).Both pairs I bought had an issue with squeaking when I walked. LOUDLY. I felt very obnoxious. However, the squeaking will stop if they're worn enough (they still make a little noise but it's not noticeable or disruptive).Riding in them is great, they grip my pegs well, I can shift with more ease than I probably could in normal shoes. They feel very safe and secure. I have crashed in them and my feet were 100% fine.Overall, AMAZING boots. I know a few riders who have doubted these boots because they simply look too stiff, but it's not a problem for me in the least. Walking or riding is easy in them. They look great and offer fantastic protection.They do take a minute to put on with the inner bootie, zipper, and buckle- but it's worth it! A great pair of boots I would highly recommend! Protecting your feet is VERY important after all!

Good Solid Boot

Good boot. Easy to walk in. Sizing seems true. Very protective.Only issue I have is the inner boot is hard to tighten. Small strings are hard to grab. The zipper and velcro are a bit awkward. These things all work...but slow me down putting them on. Not an issue at all during removal.They flow air pretty well and stay cool even in 100 degree humid heat (if you wear thin socks). I can wear these from 50 degrees to 100.The plastic sliders seem cheesy and cheap for such pricey boots. I do get Dainese envy when my buddies are walking around with metal sliders. But function is there and easily replaceable. More of a style preference.Have done track days and street. Works well for both.

Good boot

Comfortable when riding, but You are definitely not walking far in these, since they are stiff. The zipper can be difficult to open and close and only getting worse over the years. These are obviously a big step up in protection over a pair of work boots. I couldn't wear them on my cruiser because I couldn't bend my ankle to shift and brake in the foot forward position, but great on standards and sport bikes. You can definitely feel the air flow through these.

This is my review after putting my first 200 miles in them and on my bike (ninja 400).Comfort: The comfort straight out of the box is amazing and I could probably walk in them for hours no problem. It doesn't make any squeaky sounds for anybody wondering. They broke in a lot faster than I thought and as a new rider I thought it would take a lot longer for this type of boot. I've practiced slow speed U-turns hundreds of times, but I was mentally out of it one night and I screwed up. Without boring anybody with the story, I'll just say the boots saved me from a broken foot 100%. When I fell, my foot was angled on the curb and the bike fell right on it. I didn't feel anything at first because of the adrenaline but after a couple hours it became pretty tender to the touch, and it felt internally bruised. Without the boot, I'm 100% sure I would've broken my foot and after just starting my motorcycling journey, I would've been even more depressed. I woke up the next day with no marks and nothing was swollen although it would hurt just a bit when pressing down on the area. The boots have no scuff marks after the beating it took haha. Lower leg was 100% after a couple days. All in all, I'm so thankful for these boots saving my leg and I'm glad I'm smart enough to gear up head to toe anytime I leave the house. I've never given ratings this high, but I ain't lyin'

I bought these boots after the first of this year for a few track days this season. I had been pretty miserable with my Dainese Torque Ins i had been wearing for about five years. My feet are wide in the forefoot and narrow in the heel. I generally wear an 11D or a 10.5-11 2E if I can find them in shoes/boots. I think I had to go with a 46 in the Dainese to get the length right but even at that the width was too narrow and my feet were killing me after a day on the track.I decided to drop the bucks and try these SMX Plus Vented boots. I haven't owned a pair of Alpinestars since i raced dirt bikes in the '80's LOL.OMG I'm still kicking myself in the ass every 5 minutes for not buying these MUCH earlier! The closest thing to them comfort wise is an old pair of SIDI touring boots and I think I just lucked out with them on the fit.I kinda hate rating these so high because the review might get passed over for being bogus, but for my feet, they are PERFECT. I kid you not, I could wear these things day in and day out and hardly know I have them on...I've never seen/felt anything like it!Functionality, protection, venting, looks...all are spot-on. I dropped the "Protection & Durability" rating above down slightly just because these are relatively new and I'm not sure on the durability, however they are Alpinestars so I would imagine they will wear well.Revzilla had a note on the sizing to go with the 45's for size 11 US...that is spot-on.

No better option if they fit you.

These run large based on my experience. I usually wear a size 10.5 or 11 in regular shoes and in the alpinestars riding shoes. However, in these I am able to comfortably fit a size 43 which is a 9-9.5 based on the size chart. I have no issues zipping them up and I have larger ankles. The inner lacing system adds stability and keeps the boot tight and secure which creates good feel on the pegs and controls. The vented version does vent better than a non-vented boot but it?s not going to keep you from sweating on hot days. They?re still hot they just breathe better. They are comfortable to walk in but you?re not going to want to walk a lot. They are definitely more sport/track oriented so you?ll want to change out of them if you?re going to be doing more walking. ... MoreThese run large based on my experience. Not Suitable for Racing

Very poor choice for racing. I wore out the toe sliders in a single practice day. I've raced in cheaper SEDICI boots for 3 years without any problems. While these boots may be ok for the casual rider, or possibly for small feet (I'm size 12), they are not suitable for the track. I contacted Alpinestars to try a more advanced boot, but they offered only a $60 repair (on a boot worn one day!). I bought a pair of SEDICIs for half the price and have raced several weekends without issue. Pretty sad customer care as I have been very happy with other Alpinestars gear (MX boots, road race Gloves, etc.). I will look else ware going forward...

These are EU48/US12.5, and let me tell you, I have a solid 1.5-2 inches of room from the tip of my longest toe to end of toe box. Will be returning ASAP to downsize. Other than that issue, these look incredible, feel very solid with construction and they pulled out as many stops as they could with protection while still having comfort in mind, ie heel slider, outer toe box slider and ankle protection. The materials used for interior seem quite comfortable as well. Awesome cinching lace system for inner liner to crank down to precise fit(if the boot fits in general anyways) and zipper closure for outer shell. Both closing systems have a hook and loop closure tab at the end to prevent it from coming undone while in the closed position. Ratcheting system to tighten calf down seems very solid too.
