Really wanted to like this helmet. Fact of the matter is it doesn't take much to destroy the shell. First time over the bars at super slow speed on a technical downhill trail the visor mount pulled out of the shell stripping the screw hole. Contacted Astar and they said send it in and they would evaluate it for warranty. Of course because it hit the ground it was compromised. Talking to Astar they agreed to sell me another at cost since this helmet had one ride on it. Second helmet hit the ground once breaking the shell at the back vents. If your keeping track this is 1K in helmets in just over a month. Fwiw i wouldn't buy it again my Fly helmets and Bell helmets have all been more resilient. I know they say replaceyour helmet after a crash but where does one draw ... MoreReally wanted to like this helmet. Fact of the matter is it doesn't take much to destroy the shell. Just purchased this a couple weeks ago and have been riding about half a dozen times. Looks amazing and is super light and comfortable! almost like there is no helmet on my head. Amazing air flow, can really feel the cool air moving through the top of the helmet, head has never been so comfortable, could see it being too cool for cold weather riding. I adjusted the A frame to lower the posiiton of the visor and could not be happier, doubt I will find a better helmet. Yes expensive, but my brain is valuable and worth all the safety features.

This is the best helmet I have ever worn. Super lightweight, amazing ventilation, and is probably one of the safest helmets you can get right now. The adjustments that can be made inside the helmet really lets you fine tune how you want the helmet to ride on your head. Also it works very well with senas due to having cutouts for the speakers to sit in.

Would leave zero stars if possible. Where to begin? The helmet I received has EPS foam that already appears to be detaching from the lower portions of the inside of the helmet. A crown liner snap has ripped after two, one-hour rides (with this part being on intergalactic back-order) and the (flimsy, fabric, removable) MIPS liner has started to break down as well, but this part is "not something that is sold separately." I would have thought Alpinestars would be interested in standing behind their product and/or offer a replacement helmet (as I presume the one I received is defective), but in corresponding with their customer service, the response was that I should wait until ~October for the crown liners to be restocked and that the MIPS liner (again, a removable, ... MoreWould leave zero stars if possible. I guess ~$700 for a helmet doesn't get you much these days. Thanks Alpinestars!
This is a very light, well-ventilated, and feature-rich helmet. I've now used it a couple times for trail riding and it has certainly reduced my neck fatigue. Goggles fit well and visibility is excellent. Only a couple of relatively minor downsides for me - helmet seems to want to tilt forward during riding. This may just be an adjustment thing for me. In addition, the ear holes are just barely large enough. I get some rubbing on the bottom of my ears, and have to be careful taking the helmet off. Overall I would recommend this helmet to combat neck fatigue and improve ventilation.
One of the reasons why I selected the Alpinestars supertech M-10 helmet was the speaker cut outs in the helmet. I use a Sena 30K in my duel sport helmet and in my Goldwing helmet, and having the communication system on the helmet is a plus for me. The helmet fit perfect. I spent several hours playing with the liner adjustments and ended up with the standard liner setting. The helmet is the lightest helmet Ive ever owned. I wear OTG goggles, and field of view with my OTG goggles was excellent. I cant say enough good things about this helmet. I'm glad I purchased the M-10
Light and flows well. I have neck issues and it has made a difference, because of weight and less wind resistance. It has a lot of adjustment if you are a hard fit. The visor isn't adjustable but it wasn't a problem once I got the helmet set up for my head. The only slight negative is there is more wind noise at hwy speed if you do that kind of riding. I think earbud/plugs will solve that problem. Not cheap but you get what you pay for.I got a limited edition and was concerned about replacement visors...it comes with a matching spare.Helmet bag is nice too!
Great Helmet, bought one last year and had a good crash. Visor came off, as it should and the weight of the helmet helped with the impact. This is my second M10 that I have bought and hope I don't have to use it in a crash again. I fell very safe and comfortable wearing it. Ride mostly in the desert and it stays cool and very light weight.
I was always a Shoei guy, and I still love and wear my Shoeis both on and off-road, but I wanted to give this helmet a go, because all my other gear is primarily Astars.First off, this helmet is by far the lightest helmet out there, and it flows a ton of air. I don't take summer off from riding so when it's triple digits and everyone else is throwing back cold ones at the pool, I'm still out there riding. Compared to my Shoei VFX-Evo and 6d ATR-2, the SM10 keeps my head way cooler. I love the look of the Shoei, but when the temps are really cooking out there, my head can sometimes feel like it's in an oven. Compared to the 6d, I really like the tech inside the ATR-2, but it comes at the cost of a significantly bigger helmet. Compared to the 6d, I really like the tech inside the ATR-2, but it comes at the cost of a significantly bigger helmet. The 6d is a nice helmet, but kind of makes you feel a bit Mr.Bobblehead-ish.The Astars lid is much lower profile, and has ton of other great features too, like the hydration channels for a water bladder (i don't have to drill holes in the mouthpiece for longer desert races and harescrambles. It's got MIPS, and a nice visor release system. I've sheared plenty of those plastic screws from crashing, and with this system, if you crash hard enough and the visor comes off, you can pop it right back in. Easy squeezy lemon peazy. You can also adjust the way it sits on your head, but I didn't have to because it fit money right out of the box. But overall, a great helmet I almost always end up reaching for because it really is the lightest thing out there, and when it's hot, this thing flows air like crazy. I've even taken it out on the lake on friend's standup jetskis.
this thing is amazing. lifelong shoei user, this fit true to size (Large in both). the features make my older shoei look pretty obselete. they are using their own version of MIPS, so from a protection standpoint it seems on par with the current high end lids, but the creature comforts on this one are really setting it apart. i GNCC as well as MX, the internal shell hydration routing channels are awesome, ability to run a air-assist removal system, every pad is easily removable for washing, etc. the weight on this thing is insane, it feels like you are wearing a mountain bike helmet! eye port opening is much larger than anything i'm accustomed to. helmet notching around collarbone area is a nice touch for neck brace clearance. i'm sold on this, very proud of the ... Morethis thing is amazing. lifelong shoei user, this fit true to size (Large in both). the features make my older shoei look pretty obselete. they are using their own version of MIPS, so from a protection standpoint it seems on par with the current high end lids, but the creature comforts on this one are really setting it apart. i GNCC as well as MX, the internal shell hydration routing channels are awesome, ability to run a air-assist removal system, every pad is easily removable for washing, etc. the weight on this thing is insane, it feels like you are wearing a mountain bike helmet! eye port opening is much larger than anything i'm accustomed to. helmet notching around collarbone area is a nice touch for neck brace clearance. i'm sold on this, very proud of the purchase!

Alpinestars Supertech M10 2206 Unite Helmet Red
Alpinestars Supertech M10 Helmet The goal of the Alpinestars Supertech family of helmets was to create the most advanced, protective, and performance-enhancing helmets possible for riders worldwide. With the S-M10, Alpinestars’ Helmet Development team engineered the helmet to offer the perfect blend of excellent ventilation, and unsurpassed comfort, to create a helmet with the lightest weight possible, all without compromising on any other front. The S-M10 shell sizing solution ensures each helmet fit size has its own appropriate shell size to deliver the most anatomical solution for the wide variety of fit needs worldwide, providing 4 different helmet shell sizes S, M, L, and XL and 6 consumer sizes from XS to XXL to ensure riders have the correct fit which not only improves comfort and reduces overall weight, but most importantly, improves the effectiveness of the helmet in an impact. The helmet’s shell construction utilizes a highly advanced molding technology with a multi-composite combination: 1) 3K Carbon, high density carbon outer layer that improves strength and efficiency of energy dissipation over the shell, 2) Uni-directional carbon composite layer that gives significantly greater radial strength around the shell, preventing compression but allowing controlled deflection for reducing transmitted impact energy, and 3) Aramid fiber layer which provides critical penetration protection. This combination of layers is given even greater performance with an epoxy resin bonding that offers the best possible strength and energy management; limited outer shell deflection means the energy spreads wider and is better absorbed by the 4 density EPS liner. The result of the unique shell lay-up process employed in the S-M10 construction results in extremely effective impact protection. The S-M10 returning linear and oblique impact performance which exceeds current helmet regulation standard limits. For direct linear impacts, which is an impact at a 90-degree angle between the helmet and an object, the SM10 surpasses the new ECE 22.06 standard for 2024 by an average magnitude of 46% for regular-speed impacts. New for the ECE 22.06 standard, new requirements now include low-speed and high-speed linear impacts where the SM10 surpasses the new ECE 22.06 Peak Linear Acceleration standards by 23% and 28% respectively. And for rotational acceleration and oblique impact performance, where impact energy comes from an angle other than a linear 90-degree, or right-angle straight impact, the S-M10 exceeds the new ECE 22.06 Peak Rotational Acceleration standard by 76%. Redesigned chin bar’s new profile, where the base area has been specifically sculpted to give a relief section, raised to clear the collarbone, with a new softer EPS liner which extends beyond the helmet shell itself, and is covered by a more flexible rubber compound providing a reduced chance of any sort of collarbone injury. Removable side pads made from a semi-soft polymer for added protection provide a larger contact area to help spread impact energy. Patented A-Head Fitment System allows easy adjustment of the angle and height that the helmet sits on the head. Ultra-ventilated helmet with 28 individual intake and exhaust ports, not including the eye port, with 18 intakes and 10 exhausts. MIPS Multi-directional Impact Protection System. ERS Emergency Visor Release and a new Visor Extension to provide protection from roost and the sun. New eject technology includes the eject helmet removal system. Lightweight ECE 1260g and DOT 1360g for a size medium, 1310g with side pads and 1370g with visor extension. The S-M10 is available in 2 versions ECE R 22.06 and ECE R 22.06/DOT.
