Altra Outroad Shoes Black Lilac Green Women - 40.5

(181 reviews)

Donrsquot limit yourself to the road or trailsmdashchoose both in the Altra Outroad. The Altra Outroad is the perfect hybrid road-to-trail shoe. Based off of the Altra Rivera, this shoe has the same Altra EGOtrade midsole for a responsive, yet cushioned ride and is built on Altrarsquos slim fit last, which fits narrower than other Altra shoes yet still has the rounded FootShaped trade toe box. Take on those gravel roads and single track trails, the MaxTractrade outsole and multi-direction lug pattern are perfect to handle trail conditions but wonrsquot feel cumbersome while on the road. A light and thin upper in the front allows for breathability, while it is a bit more protective and cushioned in the heel to give you a secure, lockdown feel. Plus, it has a reinforced toe to protect against rocks and branches. The Outroad is less bulky than other trail shoes to give you the familiar step-in feel of road shoes. The Altra Outroad lets you run wherever the road takes you. Read more in our Altra Outroad review or watch our video below.

The features that I really love that no other running shoe seems to have is the signature slim foot shape fit that gives a nice comfortable & snug fit. It's different in where my feet have space to sit naturally. My feet have never felt more comfortable in a running shoe until now & I get way better alignment & running form with these shoes! Goodbye to no more tired & blistered feet! One of the best features is that I can use them on roads & even trails when I want an adventure! Based on other reviews, I sized up for these, and I'm glad I did. My old ones were Timp 1.5's I think, and 4-5 years old. I usually wear a 7, but my Timps were 7.5. I sized up to an 8 in these based on reviews, and they fit well...but no extra room. When I first put them on, I wondered if I needed an 8.5. I took them for a walk outside, and once I got going, they did fine. I am not a heavy runner, and will use them mostly for walking. I like Altras because they feel cushiony on the bottoms of my feet and I like the great toe-room. These still have both of those, but the fit down the sides does feel a bit narrower. Once I got used to it, I think it holds my foot in well. No sloshing about and getting blisters on my toe pads like in my old worn out ones. I have flat feet and I am really picky with the shoes that I wear for my runs. These Women's OutRoad shoes from Altra are extremely comfortable. I do not get my feet pain after my runs anymore. I am in fact running longer than before. These are very lightweight and durable. I love the fact that the material is breathable. My feet don't sweat as much as I used to anymore. The cushion does indeed absorb all that shock from running. These are true to size. So, if you are ordering for yourself, order your regular size. I am loving these and I do not have any complaints so far. And yes, I already recommended these shoes to my friends and my work out buddies.

Fantastic Trail Shoes
26 October 2022

These trail shoes are superb! I got my true size, and they fit like an absolute glove. The gray color of the shoe is pretty and I love the pop of pink in the shoelace, very pleasing to the eye. These shoes hold and protect my foot, but are very breathable. I overpronate, so I was surprised to know these shoes helped me with that and added decent arch support (I have little arch). These felt so good to walk and jog in on pavement and on my local trail. The grooves along the sides and sole help keep the shoe and foot balanced on any terrain. I'm so surprised and impressed with these shoes and will continue using them. I highly recommend the Altra brand and this particular shoe, as they are high quality and so good for the joints. Go grab a pair!!

Great for All Terrains!
3 November 2022

My first impression of these are that they were pretty, and looked very sturdy & durable. I noticed that the toe box was wider than my normal running shoe, and that there was an upward slope at the back of the heels bottom. When putting them in I noticed they definitely run smaller than my other running shoes. I'm typically between a 9.5 and a 10, so I thought a 10 would be perfect. The 10 fits, but there's very little room between the end of my foot and the shoe. The size doesn't bother me, but I think a 10.5 would have been the ideal size for me. They felt hard and hurt my feet the first day I wore them, but when I put them on the next day I was surprised to find that they felt great. I absolutely love that my toes can spread out comfortably in the wide toe box . I've worn them running both outdoors and indoors, walking some trails in the woods, and for every day wear. I feel they performed great on all terrains. I'm very pleased with these shoes and would recommend them to anyone looking for a good, supportive, and comfortable running shoe.

Great shoes for every type of exercise
7 November 2022

I received these shoes in the hopes that I could use them in the HIIT classes I teach. I have worn another brand of running shoes for years so I was hesitant to step outside my comfort zone and try something new. Right away upon opening, I noticed they seemed wider and almost shaped like a boxy foot. But the overall look of them was appealing, the colors were fun and current. I tried them on and was instantly surprised, these felt fabulous! The cushioning was something I hadn't experienced with other running/workout shoes, and the tread on the bottom wasn't the usual either. I went the following day to teach a class and these shoes did great on a slick floor. Just what I was looking for
21 April 2023

I've used Altra trail shoes in the past and have many pairs and was looking for one that was more versatile because most of my runs are a combo of trail, gravel, and pavement all at the same time. And the Outroad was that perfect combo. The cushion is soft but not overly plush. The material doesn't tear easily and has some precipitation resistance. The toe box is a bit narrower but that's the nature of the slim fit, but I've taken this shoe on many runs and the width hasn't been a problem despite having wider feet. The grip of the shoe is perfect for going between gravel, trail, and pavement. I also love the colors this shoe comes in.

Most comfy marathon vet!
8 May 2023

I'm a 53 year old woman and have run 6 road or gravel marathons in 4 years with TIMPs. Most of my training is on dirt and gravel. I wanted to try these for my seventh road race (Eugene Marathon...go Ducks!) so I used them for about 10% of the last portion of my training.Sure they felt a little more snug especially with my toe socks. And honestly on race day I wasn't sure if they were the right choice. But the day after my race, it took me a while before I realized my feet didn't hurt AT ALL! This is unlike every other race even with cushy TIMPs! It was quite a revelation especially considering they have less cushioning.I only have about 150 miles on them so can't speak about durability but I did test them on gravel and asphalt and so far so good. Perfect after breaking in- give it a chance

I have two pairs of Torin 5 that fit like a dream. I got these knowing the fit would be different based on Altra’s fit guide on their website. When I first put them on I felt highly uncertain, but wanted to give them a shot knowing I could return them if they truly didn’t work out. It took a couple weeks to really get a feel for them, but now I’m obsessed. The fit is a lot tighter and feels shorter than the Torin indeed, but for a trail runner, I appreciate the snugger fit. I wear the same size as the Torins. The traction is incredible, the colorways are fun. The only changes I would make are - a slightly deeper heel cup and a slightly deeper instep area. It feels tight over the instep/vamp. While I can adjust the lacing enough to make it comfortable, it does feel ... MoreI have two pairs of Torin 5 that fit like a dream. yes, but...they are noisy
14 November 2022

Great shoe overall. I've used them for many road-to-trail runs and they transition well between single track, gravel, and road. Traction is not their strong suit in wet weather and with heavy leaf fall, steep downhills can be a bit sketchy. Dry or soft dirt, they work great! My major complaint is that the insole has begun to slip around inside the shoe and squeak. Loudly. I've tried tightening the shoe, lacing differently, thicker socks. Nothing seems to help. I do believe that sweaty feet contribute to the issue as the shoes do not breathe very well. I would love to know if others are having the same experience...
