amaran COB 200x S Bi-Color LED Monolight

Love this thing! Being able to change color temperature while keeping that bright 200W is SO useful, especially on set when trying to replicate mixed lighting from various sources. I also own the Amaran 100X, and I can tell a noticeable difference with this light in terms of brightness (200W vs 100W) as well as color accuracy. Would absolutely recommend to intermediate filmmakers and YouTubers who want some quality light to make their video content stand out.

I put out a lot of video content for the real estate related fields and have bought a lot of equipment to use for my business. This light is one of the best pieces I’ve bought out of everything. I love the functionality and the durability. I also love that it connects to your Bluetooth and I can adjust it from my phone when I’m shooting solo. If you’re looking for a light, that’s gonna make you look like a rockstar spend a little extra and get this one! the adjustments are very robust but easy to use. I would recommend getting a good industrial stand versus a cheap one. Also, if you’re gonna buy this late. Well worth every penny!

This Amaran 200X S light is the upgraded version of the original 200X, with an improvement to the Yoke (sturdier, more metal), and improvements to the internal fan, making it quieter than the first version. It's the same size and looks the same as the mark1 version, but this "S" version has the improved CCT making it even closer to the Aputure line. This light fits perfectly in line with my 3 other Aputure lights on the Sidus link app. Just makes everything seamless. For color temperatures, on my cheap light meter, the CCT were reading within 100 degrees of the temp on the light, which is more accurate than most of my other 'non-Aputure' LED COB lights.

Amazing Bi-Color COB Monolights!

These lights have excellent color accuracy and render the scene very nicely. I recently used them to shoot artist interviews and art, both photo and video. The lights are excellent. Very stable, with a huge heat-sink in the body of the monolight, so light modifiers do not overheat. Sure, they are not as powerful as a 300c, but the color accuracy is better. I also used them to cross-polarize the art during the interview shots, and that worked out very well. It is a joy to use them with the Sidus Link app, which is fully bluetooth, and it is easy to move lights from one set to another and reassign them in the Sidus Link app. I ended up buying FOUR!

Amazing Deal, Great Light, Sidus App Just Works!

I do restaurant photography and videography professionally and I was wanting an easy light to setup on site, not too large / heavy, plus it emits lots of light to light spaces / people / food even with modifiers like umbrellas or soft boxes.This light is it! OK sometimes I do videography in nights where a little bright light does huge difference with somewhat high ISO and f/2.8 aperture, but still this light is great.Sidus link app is also great, you can remotely turn it on/off with your smartphone. It just works! Best Light Ever

OMG, This is the best light I've ever owned. To be able to adjust the temperature from 2700k 6600k is great. You are able to adjust the light brightness, from 1 to 100 percent awesome. If you are looking for a light, the 200S X is the way to go. I recommend this light. My name is Steve and I approve this message.

Best bang for your buck

The AMaran 200x is the best bang for your buck while still being in the Aputure ecosystem. We have a lot of Aputure / Amaran lights in our studio from the Aputure 600c to the Amaran 200x and the 200x is consistently used for either backlighting or smaller subjects. A bright light at this price with the bonus that you can control both Amaran & Aputure lights with the Sidus Link app what's not to like about this light. We've also taken several of them on travel production shoots and they have faired well when carefully packed into a flight case.

Great value

I will be buying another. Color seems consistent. Lite weight. Comes with umbrella holder built in. Uses Bowens style modifiers and comes with a nice reflector.

Really pleased with this purchase. The light feels well-made and robust despite being mostly plastic - good plastics at least! The tightening lever for the angle could maybe be a little more trust-inducing, but so far it has given me no issues, even with a large lantern diffuser attached.The output level is specified by the manufacturer, choose the variant that has the desired level of brightness - in other words: as bright as I expected it to be. Color accuracy is excellent, no issues here.What I really like about this light more than anything is the convenient remote control capability, but even more so the quiet fan. Stupendous Color Reproduction

Really can't find a better light -- in terms of specs, color reproduction, closeness to tungsten, etc -- anywhere in the LED space. Waiting for Aputure to bring this technology to their other models.
