For the price, this is a really great little health monitor. Although, it does need to be mentioned, that you do need a phone to use the tracker. Well, it varies. The heart rate is fairly accurate, although by default it only updates every minute. You can go into the options, on your phone app, and change this either directly or through an option that automatically ups that rate during exercise. Blood oxygen level is a bit finicky. It's a stat that you manually have to check and, in my experience, seems to be consistently a few points off. The pedometer aspect is just way off. Over the course of a day, it tracked me at around 6000 steps- and there was no way that was even possible. Because the device is on your wrist, it can easily give you false steps from simple movements. But, that's how most arm based pedometers are, so I don't really fault this device for it.The calculated stats are going to rely heavily on the algorithm that they use as well as the data that they receive, so are really there as more of a novelty than anything else. The sleep tracker, for instance, is just guessing at when you're actually asleep or in REM. From my experience, it's at least correct about when I'm asleep, although I can't verify if the state of the sleep is accurate. Stress level is based on heart rate variability, and if the device is only checking your heart rate every minute it can be a little off. And calories burned is based on how many steps you've taken, which I've already pointed out can be wildly off. There are a lot more things that can be "tracked" in the app, like weight, height, BMI, water intake, but they don't work. Some won't even allow you to manually enter data, so they're just there to let you know that maybe eventually they might sell a device to track them. The device is comfortable enough to wear. I haven't had any issues with it. During exercise it can jostle a bit leading to more inaccurate readings, and they do mention to tighten to up a bit when exercising. It's not that big of a deal though.Overall, this is great for the price. If you don't want to spend $50+ on fancy "smart" watches and just want a simple device to monitor heart rate- this is for you.

Does not continuously monitor HR, screen turns off

Maybe it deserves more than 1 star but to me it was a disappointment because I only got it for a HR monitor. If you read the reviews and see some of the photos (display with current time and HR), you'd think that you can get a continuous read and keep an eye on it while you're running. Actually, the shortest interval at which it will check is 1 minute, and there is no option to make the screen never time out. The longest screen hold before timing out is 10 secons. You can set an option to make it sensitive to lifting your wrist, which kinda works, but otherwise you have to tap it to wake it up and then look at what your HR was last time it took your pulse, 1 min+ ago.

Even though its many features don't require the use of the phone, many settings can be enabled/modified only through the ZEPP app.- frequent lost connection between the band and the app, to reconnect, I have to restart my phone almost every dayBand Display:- brightness: good indoor, but outdoor in the sunlight, I could only see it at 1 or 2 notches below max, ideally I would use max, but then it will drain the battery much quicker- font size: besides the time, other indicators are very small and their colors also make it more difficult to see. I have prescription glasses, but normally don't need to wear them unless I need to read a very small font. I have to wear my glasses to see all items on the band display.Device Locator: Very useful for locating your phone, it will ring, so you find it if it is within the blue tooth distance. Not useful for location the band because it only vibrates. So if you misplaced it, how would you know that it vibrates?Overall: My main goal was to get a low cost but accurate heart rate monitor to be used during a workout. I think Band 5 is OK for this. Other functions are nice and useful. Considering the price, I would recommend it for those who are not too much into fancy gadgets.

Great product for the price

Pretty good product for the price! I had one previously and ordered another one for my mom. This company also has a smartphone app called Zepp which syncs really well and is also quite feature heavy. It's probably not as accurate as a premium smartwatch or maybe a Fitbit, but for this price I'm willing to make a few sacrifices considering the amounts of features available and how well the smartphone app is designed.

Has pros/cons. Depends what you're looking for.

I bought this fitness tracker because I wanted something that would track my fitness and health without feeling so “connected” to my phone. (I have an Apple Watch, but don’t like feeling connected to my phone all the time.) I was immediately pleased with how the Amazfit Band 5 fit around my wrist. I could hardly even feel it! I wore it to bed the first night and I really enjoyed tracking my sleep. The next day, I went for a run. I tried to track my run, but the distance was very inaccurate. Additionally, my problem with fitness trackers like this is that they are hyper-focused on “steps.” What’s more important to me is how many calories I burn throughout the day. This is ultimately why I decided to return the tracker. It depends what you’re looking for. I was so excited to get this. But of course my battery last 2 days. Then after that I became more disappointed. I use my fitbit but wad dying to try this one especially for the 15 day life on the battery. My luxe will hold 8 days my sense holds 5 days so 15 was a slam dunk. I need to constantly watch my heart. So this one is coming back to Target. I'm so sorry. I've done everything.

Love this fitness tracker/watch!
6 June 2022

Inexpensive, but still has alot of features/ capabilities. Only other tracker I've ever used was a 1st gen fitbit. This is so much better than that, and only costs a little more. This is perfect for someone like me who doesn't want to spend $150+ on a smartwatch. This has a touchscreen & u can swipe thru the screens to access different stuff. I really like the sleep analysis feature. I now know I don't get much REM sleep, so I'm going to a sleep doctor-thanks Amazfit! Also tells when heart rate &/or stress level is too high. And will guide u thru breathing exercises, which actually reduces ur heart rate in a short amount of time (it shows you)! Definitely recommend!!!

Not bad, but there are better.
1 July 2023

It's a pretty good watch and I do get my messages and phone call notifications, which are really all I was looking for. Battery life is very good for a smart watch, but I think that is because the heart rate monitoring isn't always on for me, though I don't really care about that. The band is comfortable and doesn't pinch, but I find that I get the band caught on a lot of things and I find the clasp snaps off, and the watch ends up on the ground a lot. The bands are easy to swap out and there are a lot of colors to choose from. Yes it is a cheap smart watch, but for what I wanted it is a great buy.

Pretty good bang for your buck
13 February 2022

I wanted a watch so bad. I went and purchased mine at Walmart. I seem to be the only one saying I have to wear it a bit tight at all times for it to read anything. It doesn't matter if I walk or not, I use an elliptical and my phone and the Google fit app work better than this watch. The only fun 3 things for me are the heart rate during workouts, the cycle tracker and the watch faces. But for $50, a cool watch face is decent I guess?? Hey, get what ya pay for and pay for what you can afford, and don't expect too much. They tell me I should be 108.8 pounds on the zepp app because I'm 5 foot tall. đŸ€ŁđŸ€ŁđŸ€ŁđŸ€Ł They're from Japan and China. That's how they live. Don't expect a watch made in a different culture to match your standards either.

Love it so far. Screen is small but you can download different wallpaper styles. I can't see well so I use the yellow one. Love the different displays. App is great as well. Love the features. Counts your steps and you can set it to vibrate when you reach your goals. You can also find your phone if you lost it nearby. You can receive text messages, use it to take photos on your phone, etc. But the more you use, the more battery is used. So, adjust as needed. Cheap and does what I need it to do.
