Echo does nor work. Try it with an european plug, does Not work. Try it with a serial plug, does not work. Flyback is more expensive as the litterbox. So byebye Echo. Put it in the litterbox now. You have to rework your description. The Item is not suitable for good old Germany.

Great product.I have an Echo Spot at another location in my home and was looking for a second one. Arrived on time. Condition was excellent. Setup was easy. I wanted a clock that was small but visible. Looks great on my desk.

Love this Echo Spot. Does everything I need and more. Small enough to sit on my desk in my home office but clever enough to connect to our Echo Show devices in other rooms and phones to speak to each other rather than have to shout downstairs. I can listen to music (reasonable sound quality for its size), make FaceTime calls, set up shopping list, answer front door without leaving my desk through Ring device and turn on / off lights via Alexa. All in all, a clever little gadget.

My son's CD/radio player recently died and he had a very small alarm clock. He had previously asked me about getting an echo spot but I balked. Once the CD player died it made a little more sense. Setup was a breeze as he did it himself (he is 14). We have an Echo Gen1 in our living room so this was our second Echo device. It can work as an intercom. We had a lot of fun "announcing" things to each other through the echo. He crossed the line a little when he asked our main echo to play a song at maximum volume. We added a couple of smart light bulbs (Merkury) and now he can turn his light to whatever color and brightness along with on/off with the sound of his voice. My daughter is already asking for one as well. I'm sure they would never play music or change lights ... MoreMy son's CD/radio player recently died and he had a very small alarm clock. Up to now, I have resisted the whole "Alexa" fad. I'm very happy that I caved and bought this Echo Spot! We trashed the old ugly radio alarm clock, which even after using it for the last ten years or so, still had trouble remembering how to turn certain functions on/off, like NAP. WTH is NAP anyway? The SPOT is a stylish, minimal unit that looks great on our espresso colored nightstand. You have all of the functions of an Amazon Echo device, plus a small screen to display the clock, weather, messages etc, as well as video capability similar to FaceTime with other Spot or Alexa app users. We love that all that you have to do to set the alarm is to ask Alexa to set for such and such time, to such and such music, and that's it. Even better, is turning the clock off ... MoreUp to now, I have resisted the whole "Alexa" fad. I'm very happy that I caved and bought this Echo Spot! Even better, is turning the clock off from the other side off the bed by simply telling her to stop. And yes, it can handle multiple alarms in case you and your spouse need to get up at different times. The screen can go into night mode so it is a dim red color, and does not disturb you with bright light but is still easily read. The sound is actually quite good for a device its size, even cranked up. It is a solid, well built, stylish device with excellent smart capabilities. Eventually I will add smart outlets so I can control the lights and even the thermostat through it.
I bought this for my husband to use mainly as an alarm clock as well as a medium for controlling smart home features. Prior to writing the review, I asked him questions about the ease of use, his user experience and how he likes the device (screen, sound, etc.) He expressed all positive comments, and noted that he is quite happy with this device. My husband is not tech savvy, and does not like using devices that he deems “too much trouble.” However, he is comfortable with the Alexa app and interacting with all of our Echo devices. This one is no different. Here are his main use cases:1. As a M-F alarm clock. The Spot works very well for this purpose. This one is no different. Here are his main use cases:1. As a M-F alarm clock. The Spot works very well for this purpose. Previously, he had been using an original Echo as an alarm, along with a separate digital clock. The Spot replaces both, and frees up the first gen Echo for another use in our home. While there aren’t a lot of clock faces, he chose one he likes, and set the Spot to use night mode. The screen is still visible at night, but not so bright as to distract from sleeping. The Spot is programmed to wake him every weekday. This is a simple one time set up. No need to “set” the alarm each night. It hasn’t missed a beat. The only time he needs to do anything is when he has a day off. In that case, he simply sets his M-F alarm to “off” in the Alexa app the night before the day off, then back on again the next day. He doesn’t have to mess with it again until the next time he has a day off.2. Controlling smart home routines. We have various routines set up, including several that control lighting groups in various rooms. The Echo Spot, like other Alexa devices, works great to control these.3. Checking weather and/or traffic before leaving for the day.4. Listening to music on Pandora or Amazon Music. The Spot has a surprisingly decent speaker. We have an original Echo, two Dots and a Show as well as the Spot. I expected the sound to be on par with the Dots, but it’s quite better than that. Not bad at all. It’s more than adequate for enjoying some music while getting ready for work or unwinding before falling asleep.5. Occasional drop-in. This feature works easily, and is very convenient. The screen on the Spot is good. Not great, but certainly good. We understood going in that it’s a small screen and that it has lower resolution than we find on devices such as our phones, tablets and TVs. But, the images are clear. And, we aren’t using this device to, for example, watch movie, after all. The screen is more than good enough for this device’s uses. All in all, the Spot has definitely filled its intended role (alarm clock) and then some. My husband was not sure he would like it (new thing to learn,) but his responses today when I asked how it’s working for him made it clear that the Spot was a good choice. Plus, Amazon continues to include more skills for Alexa, and these existing devices continue to improve and offer more features.
I actually really like the concept of the product. It is fun just to play around with, but difficult to operate, which I'll go into detail about later. The spot is convenient for my 8 year old because it will show her pictures or text of the things she asks Alexa. She uses it to help her spell because it displays the word. The built-in hub on the echo plus isn't necessary, unless you plan on buying one smart light bulb are a time because the packs come with a hub free (an echo dot is sufficient and cheaper). The speaker quality is great for music and can be increased fairly loud without distortion. Now for the difficulty with operating. For starters, your echo doesn't have many bells and whistles prepackaged. You have to search skills, which are kind of like apps ... MoreI actually really like the concept of the product. The speaker quality is great for music and can be increased fairly loud without distortion. Now for the difficulty with operating. For starters, your echo doesn't have many bells and whistles prepackaged. You have to search skills, which are kind of like apps or lessons to teach Alexa. There are many different skills you can teach Alexa, so make sure you have time to look through them. Now you've taught Alexa skills, but for every skill you must remember how to communicate exactly as instructed on the skill page or Alexa will not understand (e.g. "Alexa, tell to perform such and such task). If you don't remember the phrases to get Alexa to perform the skill you can always look through your app and under skills to find directions. Who will remember all the specific wording for each skill? Plus, the whole point in speaking to Alexa is that it's hands-free, so looking at the app for directions isn't convenient. It gets very frustrating if you don't have the Alexa app handy. Next, if you plan on controlling plugs or lights with Alexa you have to download apps from the manufacturer. Your now cluttered phone is even more cluttered and you don't speak the same language as Alexa. She also has difficulty understanding a lot of questions and you have to rephrase them several times for her to give you any answer.I love, love, love the functions I can remember the wording for Alexa to perform the task. There are so many things Alexa can do that listing them would make this review entirely too long. I will list my favorites and most useful to me.Turns on lights or plugs. Groups lights, traffic report, weather, and many other functions together to be performed with one command (e.g. "Alexa, good morning"). Orders pizza. Tells jokes. Gives answers to questions you have. Controls TV. Sends messages and makes calls. Adds things to grocery lists. Sets reminders so you won't forget things. Adds appointments to your phone or email linked calendar. Helps kids with homework. Plays games for adults and kids.
I bought the Show 2nd Gen, a Spot, and This. My steps to getting into one of the smart controlled technologies. I don't have this set up with a Phillips Hue system (With Hue Bridge) yet, but so far this is amazing. I purchased the stand and a screen protector off Amazon, and they just add to this. I have this set on my nightstand and use it like an expensive alarm clock. I can upload any picture to my background, and it's fully customizable. One thing I get a kick out of is if I'm out at a grocery store and remember I need to wake up early, I can set my alarm right then and there from the store and it's there at home. It gives me a little redundancy for when I throw my phone at the wall to shut up at 5am.Aside from that, the audio isn't amazing for music, but ... MoreI bought the Show 2nd Gen, a Spot, and This. It works well fro calls to other Alexa devices, even the Alexa app on the phone. I find the longer I own this, the more it's integrating into my lifestyle and it's nice to actually see that happening and this not being a one time didn't need purchase. I totally swear by this thing now, probably my favorite Alexa device.
I have a few other echo models throughout my house, and by far this one is the most disappointing. Overall the device performs just fine for how it is made, however, it honestly just doesn't compare to it's counterparts in any way.Sound: The sound on this speaker is very subpar. I placed it in my kitchen, as I figured it could show recipes, etc. while cooking, however, the volume when playing music at maximum doesn't very clearly reach over about 15 feet. It gets diluted very easily.Sensitivity: I have a generation 2 Echo (regular) that is placed behind the TV in my living room. The sensitivity on that device is insanely better than this Spot. I'll be standing much closer to the Spot, and the Echo picks up my audio commands more often.Screen size: I have ... MoreI have a few other echo models throughout my house, and by far this one is the most disappointing. If you're going for an Echo device with a screen, I think the Show is probably a better option.I have talked to some friends who utilize this device in a baby's bedroom both to softly play music and to utilize to drop-in and have been happy with the results, however, for day-to-day use there are far better options, especially for larger, more open rooms.TL:DR Device works well for it's price range, however, it is easily outdone in almost every aspect by it's counterparts. Also, I bought this device for $30 as an add-on, so for that price it's performance has been stellar.
