Amazon Fire TV Stick Media Player 4K With Alexa Voice Remote

I was looking for replacing my Roku LT streaming box which was released 100 years ago (in electronics years.) I couldnt resist when Wizeberry threw the trade-in offer at my face with $25 off for a Fire TV, and 2.99 cash value. The new Fire TV retains the same form factor from the old Fire TV but has packed in some new features such as faster processor, power, volume, and mute buttons for TV, and support for newer 4K media standards such as Dolby Vision HDR, HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Atmos surround sound.I was really surprised that how convenient the Alexa voice command feature is. Though apps have to support integration with Alexa (e.g. it couldnt open a website with voice command, maybe I was not giving a specific enough command) but all I need to play videos on Netflix or Wizeberry prime, and Alexa handles it beautifully.Alexa voice commands work even if the TV is switched off. Though it takes a while for Alexa to switch the TV on but the fact that it works is simply amazing. The User-interface is quite responsive. However, I found the user interface to be cluttered with information that I did not want on my home screen. The home screen can be improved a lot in order to present the content that I want and not what Wizeberry wants to advertise.I also had issues with WiFi. During the setup process, the Fire TV prompted that it was not connected to WiFi. But on trying again it worked fine. Als.

AWESOME PRODUCT

This thing is flat out awesome . I was paying $ 150 a month for service with comcast including 200 hrs of dvr for $10 . Now with the fire stick , i went though fubo , it is $ 74.99 a month and i still all the same channels . Ewtn and all the locals 4- 6- 8 were not on it , so i went to fire home page and down loaded them . Now fubo , ewtn and 4- 6- 8 all have there own app . So now it has all the same channels that comcast had at exactly half the price ( GOOD RIDDENS ) comcast had 200 hours of dvr for 10 dollars , now with fubo i have 1000 hours all included for $ 74.99 , what a deal !!!!

Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K & Alexa Voice Remote Streaming, 2019 Version

Very easy to set up! Literally plug, connect, and play! I dont think set up took more than 10 minutes over WiFi! If you are looking to cut the satellite or cable cord, and mostly watch streaming services over WiFi, this is a must! Even if you dont subscribe to any streaming services, you can still find free content to watch! No WiFi? No problem! You can also connect the Fire TV Stick to an Ethernet adapter to use with a wired internet connection, but this adapter is sold separately. If you already have an Amazon account, set up will be faster. (Note: If ordered directly through Amazon, the device will already be registered to you; if purchased elsewhere, registering it with your Amazon account is easy to do during the set up process.) Once you are connected, navigating the system doesnt take much time to get used to, and is very user friendly and I dont use the voice control. You can also pair a Bluetooth keyboard or keyboard/remote to make typing easier, instead of using the onscreen visual board with the Fire TV Stick remote (Note: make sure these devices are compatible with the Fire TV Stick, and be aware they still might not work with certain apps). The performance of the Fire TV Stick is very smooth. A WiFi connection can vary for some, but I recommend using the extender that comes in the package for a faster and better experience. Overall, I love it! I havent even had mine a full day; explored only a fraction of the available apps, watched a movie through one of my streaming services, and I am highly impressed! Without hesitation, I recommend the Fire TV Stick. Its easy to set up; take with you when traveling, and no hassle of dealing with a satellite or cable service when moving.

Awesome!

This eliminates the need of running another HDMI cable and frees up space on the TV stand, table, mantle or in our case the dresser.Setup could not be any easier!Simply connect the Power Adapter to the 4K Fire TV Stick using the included USB Cable. Plug the 4K Fire TV Stick into an available HDMI port and the Power Adapter into a wall outlet. Once powered, I was greeted with several easy to follow onscreen prompts to setup Wi-Fi, timezone, pair the remote to TV etc. and allow the Stick to update. Once the updates were complete, the Stick will reboot. The entire process only took approx. 5 mins.Once initial setup was complete, I was brought to the main screen. The UI is very nicely laid out and easily navigated. There are several apps already listed such as Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+ etc. You can customize this layout by adding and/or removing apps of which may or may not be of interest to you.You can set a password and customize parental controls to block access to specific apps, ratings and purchases. The 4K Fire TV Stick works perfectly! It is very responsive in navigation, opens apps quickly and streams video with no issues at all. I was initially concerned about Wi-Fi reception as our router is on a different level/floor in our home, but the 4K Fire TV Stick has no problem picking up my Wi-Fi and streams perfectly. Great video quality and virtually no buffer! Much better than my previous android box.The remote is a perfect size and fits comfortably in hand. The selection of buttons are that of typical media players, Play/Pause, Fast Forward, Rewind, a circular navigation/select, Home, etc.The 4K Fire TV Stick Remote also has the addition of Power On/Off, Volume UP/Down and Mute buttons, which allow us control over other devices such as TV, Receiver, Soundbar etc.. This is a great feature, as it can eliminate the need for multiple remotes. Then ofcourse, we have Alexa Voice. With a simple press(Hold) of the microphone button, you can easily launch apps, find and control movies and TV shows etc. all with your voice. Alexa can also give updates on time, weather, news etc... the possibilities seem "almost" endless. I haven't used this feature too much so far, but when I have it has worked perfectly. While there is lots of free content available on the 4K Fire TV Stick, I primarily use it for Prime Video, Netflix, etc.Prime Video is a great service with tons of great movies and TV shows... best of all, its FREE for Amazon Prime members! In my opinion, the cost of Amazon Prime + 4K Fire TV Stick basically pays for itself due to the FREE Prime Video!

Faulty remote in both Firesticks

I like how simple it was to set up and get everything up and going however the remote is absolute trash. It never registers when I try to unpause something. It’s almost like it disconnects completely to the fire stick. You can press buttons forever and it won’t do anything. I’ve switched around the batteries, put new batteries, nothing works.

I'd rather Van Gogh my own ear than use this trash

First of all, I have 1GB internet through Frontier fiber internet. I had to get a device to stream on the TV in my living room because I have one of the original Samsung Smart Curve TV's and it has built in apps with no ability to download new ones. So, here comes the Fire Stick. Affordable and simple to use. It SUCKS. Builds up voice lag so it's like watching old Kung Fu movies from the 80's every couple of days. You have to clear the cache from the apps, and reboot the device. Or it just simply freezes and you just sit there and wait for it to decide to start playing video again all while the audio is still going. You can Google Fire Stick voice lag and get a million hits. I should have just bought an Apple TV from the git go. Fire TV is nice, the actual Fire TV Stick SUUUUUUUUUCKS!!!!!

Only worth it 'cause of the 3 months of free Tidal

I got this 4k firestick to replace the previous 2nd gen I had, which altogether stopped working a little less than 2 years after purchase. This one started getting glitchy after just about 1 year. I'm not even using it for 4k or dolby plus, just 1080p and standard dolby surround and approximately 16 months later, it's almost unusable at times. Apps freezing up or otherwise not functioning properly, if at all. Even after manually stopping them, clearing the cache &/or data, uninstalling, reinstalling, rebooting, etc.Not to mention the increasing amount of bloatware. Bad enough it only has "8gb" of internal storage, with no way to expand it. But, they keep adding to it, randomly, with their frequent updates.I should probably invest in an nvidia shield or at ... MoreI got this 4k firestick to replace the previous 2nd gen I had, which altogether stopped working a little less than 2 years after purchase. This one started getting glitchy after just about 1 year. To have to keep replacing them every year or so, just isn't worth it.

Powerful, Fast, and Easy to Use

this brings a ton of functionality to a TV with a streaming platform operating system that can connect your tv to FireTV services like Amazon FireTV Recast, Netflix, Disney , Prime Video, HBOMax, Hulu, AMC and more. Controls don't require line of sight infrared. The UI is responsive but a little getting used to. Streaming is fast and responsive too. Also has a few simple games hidden on the device too.

Upgraded to the new new

Love it, I had the second generation fire tv (small square box) and it worked great but it started to log me out randomly from apps or the system. This one is great I had to of course learn how to set up all my favorite apps. I also had to log into all my apps as the passwords were not saved in my profile but that’s okay. The issue I have is Alexa does not rewind 30 secs or rewind in the episode you are in but the previous episode. Alexa does work better than the previous model I had and goes directly to the platform I want. I have an HD tv not 4k but this work perfectly with my tv and looks great. I have noticed the sound is a lot better and I do not have to keep the volume on my tv up as high as I once did for certain shows. Still learning the device but I have ... MoreLove it, I had the second generation fire tv (small square box) and it worked great but it started to log me out randomly from apps or the system. What a wonderful improvement...

We bought two of these units: One for our Family room 4K Samsung TV - running wirelessly through walls from about 50 feet away with no appreciable speed reduction. Very powerful wireless operation with no problems in delay whatsoever. The other is connected to my other 4K Samsung TV - again running wirelessly to my router only 12 feet away. Same story. Great operation. Other wonderful features are the ability to control the TV from the FireTVstick remote control: Both mute and volume. AND you can control many different apps (also running through a year-old ROKU Ultra box in both rooms - also running wirelessly. (We have LOTS of bandwidth to easily accommodate iPads and cellphone connections - all streaming data at the same time. One thing in particular is being able to SMOOTHLY and QUICKLY scroll through videos with the Fire TV Stick. It really is a remarkable improvement over anything else when compared to, in particular the ROKU box and its far less powerful remote control. To its advantage, however is the ability to plug in ear buds with the ROKU remote. This feature is NOT available on the Fire TV Stick. None of this is a real problem, however since we use Sennheiser wireless over-the-ear RS 175 (somewhat over-priced in our opinion) headsets which function flawlessly in our systems. Plus, the truth is the sound coming out of the Sennheiser headsets is incredibly good, especially compared to any earbuds we've tested. A lot of information here, but I think you get the idea. Official reviews of the latest updated ROKU ULTRA box and remote do not warrant replacing them yet. Enjoy the updated FireTVStick. You will NOT be disappointed - as the saying goes.
