American Crew Cream Pomade (85g)

Pomade is a greasy, waxy, or water-based substance that is used to style hair. Pomade generally gives the user's hair a shiny and slick appearance. It lasts longer than most hair care products and often requires multiple washes for complete removal. The original pomade of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries consisted mainly of bear fat or lard. Lanolin, beeswax, and petroleum jelly have been used extensively in the manufacture of modern pomades. The stiffening properties of pomades make sculptured hairstyles such as pompadour possible.! i highly recommend it to everyone!

American Crew Classic Pomade 85g

I had never used a pomade before. I have fairly thick hair and wanted to slick back or do a Pompodour. Firstly I think the smell is OK. Typical male fragrance really but nothing special. When putting through hair, feels lovely and lite. Does give hold but only average. I gave my hair a bit of a spray of hairspray and that kept it in place then. The only problem with that is that the hairspray makes your hair feel a little crispy, without the hairspray your hair feels lovely and moisturized. Without the spray I feel my hair would fall out of place on a breezy day.It washes out lovely leaving my hair feeling silky. Cream Pomade

I like this product. I've been using it for a while. It definitely has a good hold on your hair without making it look like there's anything in your hair. I would recommend maybe adding some natural ingredients to make it smell a little better, if possible. Also, I don't know who did the wrapping, but filling up the entire box with confetti paper for a small container of this cream pomade was not the move. If it's like an environmentally friendly thing, I get it, but find a new option. The confetti paper is a mess and leaves behind a lot of paper powder all over everything inside the box and then it got on my hands and on the floor.

It’s a fake

Received product. Thought it was a good deal until one was opened. The contents is white vs clear. Some have a yellowish tint to them. The gel has a mild offensive smell and the gel doesn’t hold. Need to put twice as much then the clear gel. By doing so, the smell is not pleasant. Also, the containers are inconsistently filled. Some are filled to the top, some half way, and others 2/3s full.

Not for me but probably good for others

I bought 4 American crew products at the same time to compare them, the Cream Pomade, the Matte Styling Cream, the Forming Cream, and the Defining Paste. The descriptions on the American Crew website aren't helpful, so I am hoping my description helps. The Cream Pomade dries quickly and dries slightly firm. It does not really hold shape but keeps the frizz down. If you rub your fingers through it, it will still keep the frizz lightly at bay. It holds a bit less than I want, but I can't fault the product for that. It does tend to feel lightly greasy if you don't shower in the morning.

Regular vs Heavy??? Which is it??

The picture is showing medium hold pomade and the Title is Heavy Hold Pomade. These are two completely different pomades. Hasn't anyone noticed this? Makes it difficult to order the regular pomade when the description says heavy hold. And wouldn't you know when you order this Crew Pomade you get the Heavy Hold?

Still One of the Best

I have a comb over with thick straight to wavy hair and have a somewhat blue collar job that requires a tight hat to come on and off throughout the day. I first tried this last spring and loved that it made my hair shiny but not greasy and seemed to work through my hair better than most, providing strong hold without turning hair into a crispy mess.I eventually stopped using this because while it does provide a strong hold, it’s very water soluble and affected by sweat; additionally it’s a bit expensive considering a jar lasts around a month when others easily last 2-3 times as long for the same price.I’ve purchased a jar on sale a year later and all still holds true. Sucks

I bought this product for years cause it looked great, smelt great and worked awesome. Now, it looks like snot, smells horrible and works like crap. I will never buy another ever again unless the original recipe is brought back. Not worth the value any longer as far as I’m concerned. Please change it back.

The Crew Pomade was a freebie included with my order.I didn’t think that it was something that I would use, but gave it try.I love this stuff!Holds hair in place without weighing down my fine/thinning hair, adds a natural looking shine, and works on damp or dry hair.My hair still looks reasonable ( with a quick brushing) when I get up in the morning.
