Amika The Kure Bond Repair Shampoo 275ml

I've always just believed a shampoo is just a shampoo but this shampoo changed my mind. I have fine, high-density, type 4 hair and recently went to a stylist to straighten my hair, resulting in heat damage at the front portion of my hair. I tried other shampoos and conditioners and nothing helped, it stayed bone-straight. I got a sample of amika the kure shampoo and decided to try it and my curls started reverting after the first wash. I was quite impressed that I went out and bought the full size. The formula also feels amazing, it's so softening and cleansing at the same time. It gives a luxurious pleasant experience while shampooing the hair. Absolutely Love!

Amika products have been what my hair has been needing!! I have my hair highlighted regularly and I'm in menopause which equals dry, brittle, frizzy hair. Finding Amika has been the answer I've been searching for! Other products have left my hair greasy and would require being washed every other day if not every day. Amika nourishes my hair, but doesn't weigh it down. I consistently go 3 days between washes with no greasy build up. I do use dry shampoo on non-wash days. The Kure conditioner helps keep my hair soft and manageable. I only use once every 3rd wash, but its lovely. I'm an Amika promoter for life!

Amazing but expensive.

I've been getting this shampoo and conditioner for about 5 months now and I've been really happy with how much shine it gives to my hair and how nice it smells. I've also seen how my hair is actually noticeably stronger which is really great because I have fine strands and am admittedly a little rough with my hair - too many brushes and pony tails with wet hair. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of price. However, I do understand that Amika's brand really tries to give their customers great ingredients and results which I do appreciate. I REALLY love their products but I might eventually have to move on to something a bit more affordable for me since I'm a broke college student with bills. Amazing so far!

I love this shampoo & the conditioner, it lathers well, a little goes a long way. My hair feels so soft and lightweight, it smells amazing and my scalp/hair doesn't get oily as fast as it usually does. I have thick and very long hair.. I've been using Pantene & Suave all my life, not knowing the damage it was doing to my hair. I have issues with oily scalp/dandruff and build up and I also live in an area with hard water and I didn't know of the effects until recently. My hair has been thinning out, dry split ends and just so itchy and oily after one to two days after washing. I needed a change. I also got the Quai detox shampoo & Redken cleansing cream, because with an oily scalp/build up and hard water, you should do a hair cleanse once a week. Also apple cider vinegar cleanse, it has helped so much. I recommend all of this if you have had the same or similar problems.

BEST SHAMPOO EVER

I have really damaged hair from bleaching and dying it, never really giving my hair a break from all the chemical processing. I could never find the right shampoo that wouldn't make my hair feel super dry immediately after washing. I have Afro-textured hair, I was born with the back half of my head about 4a/4b and the front half about 3a-3c, yes it's very weird. Because my curl patterns are different, the constant bleaching absolutely ruined my hair, it went from dark brown to almost white, and almost all of my curls had dropped, my hair was very much dead. Brittle Blonde Hair NO MORE!!!

Let me start by saying I have no thyroid anymore and my hair was SUFFERING. Not only my hair, but my scalp. It was very dry and irritated and I had visible bald patches. My hair is naturally dirty blonde and had been lightened a little bit. Completely Fried

I use this brand faithfully and I enjoy many of their different products. Until I tried the Kure shampoo. I have long thin hair which I have meticulously taken care of for decades. My hair has blonde ends and dirty blond roots and figured using this shampoo would help keep the ends healthy since I do get highlights 2x a year added. It has completely ruined about 6 inches of my ends. I have more dry, split ends than I ever have had in my life. I am incredibly disappointed and now I’m left having to figure out how to fix the damage without chopping it off. Super disappointing, it will be hard for me to try anything new from Amika in the future. Blondes beware.

Heavy and overly perfumed

I got a generous sample size of this and as I have bleached short hair I'm always looking for something that cleans, but doesn't strip my hair. The packaging is very cute and the bottle sits well in my shower right-side up or upside down. Those are the only pluses for me.My first bugaboo with the shampoo is the scent. While applying, my entire head was enveloped in a cloud of perfume, and not in a good way. The perfume smell is so thick I felt like I could taste it. I stay away from most scented products as heavy perfumes give me a headache. So heavily scented shampoo is a no for me.I might live with the scent if the product wasn't so heavy. I have fine hair and this felt like a leave-in conditioner, not a shampoo. My Hair + This Stuff = LOVE

The Good: I've used a ton of Amika products with mostly amazing results, I used to use one of their discontinued shampoos in the past and then moved on to other products. However, when this was released I decided to give it a go. I haven't let go of it ever since. I have dark, fine, naturally curly hair that can be hard to manage and frizzy at times. My hair is also a victim of the climate (gotta love that humidity) but when I use this shampoo I can definitely see the difference. It's lather is amazing and I always feel like I'm getting a great up-close clean without it being too harsh and stripping the natural oils of my hair to the point of leaving my hair dried out like other shampoos can. The cap is attached to the bottle by a very thin plastic which after opening/closing the bottle enough can sometimes mysteriously "snap" away. It's happened to two of my bottles now that I can recall. Although this is mildly annoying, if you take the "top piece" of the cap and align it to the "bottom piece" attached to the bottle to properly close the shampoo. Also this product does NOT come in the classic Amika scent, it's a much more subdued lighter feeling scent but I personally still enjoy it.The Ugly/Honest: A better design would be nice, I'd usually knock off a star for bad packaging but the product is extremely good and also a terrific price point for the results. Full 5 stars well earned.

THE Worst

I have bleached, curly hair and decided to give this shampoo a try after hearing about a youtuber rave how great it is. I have used this for a year and I noticed my hair getting thinner. I can see my scalp where my bangs are.I even went as far as to see a dr to try and figure out what was making my hair fall out in clumps. They couldn't figure it out either and told me it must be a hair product I'm using.This stuff makes my hair so dry, knotted, oily and itchy scalp. I recently switched brands and can't believe the difference in my hair. I wish I could undo all the hairloss this product has caused. I have never had this kind of experience with a hair product. STAY AWAY!
