A New Discovery! Jerrys Artarama!!!

During this time of isolation, I have taken to the drawing board to fill my days! I've phoned everyone I know - TWICE! - so it's time I do something else, such as painting on canvas. I contacted Jerrys Artarama and am extra glad I did so, because the ultramarine blue is a joy to work with, especially since I have a lot of sky and water to paint! This is a good brand to buy because the paint comes out very easily and smoothly, so I can determine the exact amount I want to a precise level. Amsterdam Paints - I Absolutely Love and Depend On Them

By the grace of God and the dependability of Amsterdam Paint I was able to learn to paint and create flow art within my first few tries. I Love creating abstract art with lots of lacing and cells without expensive paint extenders. Good quality, heavy pigmented, easy for painting!

For all levels of painters, this paint provides heavy coverage or light watercolor type coverage, texture or smooth. With this paint I can cover backgrounds with one coat. With cheaper paint it takes multiple coats. I switched to gold to prevent cracking or even tiny cracks in my artwork. Plus it goes so much farther than cheaper paint. The high pigment means I can make gradient colors and the base color stays, it just lightens up the color.

I am happy with Amsterdam

Even though this may be considered "student paint," and I'm not a student, I like the color tones just fine. I started using Amsterdam when I started doing acrylics during the pandemic, and have continued to supplement the sets I purchased. My paintings are large--30" x 30" and I tend to use a base tone, like this grey or a yellow ochre, beneath nearly all colors in the paintings.

I like Amsterdam acrylics

I just bought a big ole tube of yellow ochre because it's the base beneath lots of colors in a painting i'm doing of an apple orchard. leaves, apples, all have the yellow tinge. this is reliable paint. i started using it 3 years ago, and although i've heard it's "student paint" and I'm not a student, i don't see a reason right now to switch. good, consistent color.

My favorite brand

One of my favorite colors! Amsterdam acrylic paints are easy to work with and experiment with. As a mixed media artist I use a lot of their products; from paint to various acrylic mediums. The prices are consistent and reasonable. Will continue to use.

Not the Payne Grey you know

Many artists love the Paynes Grey color, as it is a beautiful mixture of blue and grey. Not this one. It is brownish black. While it is still a nice color of excellent quality, I give it only 3 stars because now I have to go and order another one from another brand.

Packaging not ideal. Great paint

This paint and color are great. Walmart still doesn’t package paint very good at all, the only reason for 4 stars. This container arrived still closed and hadn’t leaked in the padded envelope, their only packaging so far. More that half the time paint arrives intact. But the other times it’s a mess inside the envelope. Walmart is awesome at replacing it though, without having to package up the damaged and very messy paint container. Just know that when you order paint from them. Their prices on this paint, most colors, are very competitive. I will continue buying paint from here, even though it’s messy at times.

This paint is very good

I use acrylic paint for many applications including pouring and mixed media. For an intermediate acrylic paint, Amsterdam is amazing. Bright vivid colors, I love the Reflex Rose, and high pigment load. For the price and quality, I believe these are better than Liquitex but not quite at Golden's level. However, I will continue to buy and encourage others to do the same. And something about their formula, especially the white and black, male wonderful cell activators in pouring and produce very nice lacing. #sweepstakes
