I grabbed this when I found it on sale and because I am such a fan of Animal Crossing: New Leaf. This is a cute game where you get to build and decorate houses of various villagers based on their preferences. It's very easy to get into the get play. The design styles are very easy to follow, with all of the the furniture and decorations either already in your inventory or given to you for the specific house you're working on. You can also revisit villagers to add on additional rooms or redesign their current set up. The game does use the Amiibos and Amiibo cards. And while not necessary, it does add a fun component to the game.I'd say the biggest let down of the game is the villagers reactions to the room(s) you have decorated. I don't know if you can really upset them. They always seem happy, even if the room feels lack luster or doesn't fully convey what they wanted. The game can also feel a bit monotonous in that all you can really do is decorate. Yes you can visit your towns village and wonder the buildings you've helped build and decorate, but that's about it. I find that I play this game in very small bursts. Overall though, it's an enjoyable game that is relaxing and easy to play.

If you love designing houses in Animal Crossing, this game is certainly for you, but you might be just a little disappointed. The game challenges you to not only create houses based on a certain theme or furniture item, but you can also create hotels, schools, hospitals and more - which is a welcome and refreshing view on interior design for the AC series. You unlock furniture and clothing for your character throughout the game and you can always go back and redesign houses or special locations if you're not satisfied. With that said, I feel that the Amiibo reader for 3DS is a must for this game. With this extra accessory, you can add new and rare villagers (Isabelle, Sahara, and more) to your game to design houses for them. I've already built everything possible and don't have the creativity to go back and rebuild.

I have been a long-time fan of Animal Crossing. It's a really cute franchise, but I find myself a little wary of playing it. I find the constant upkeep of the town, weeding, making my villagers happy, filling museums, collecting furniture, really stressful. There's too much going on! Happy Home Designer is simplified, taking some of the best parts of the Animal Crossing franchise and condensing them into a quick, easy-to-play game. I never was excited about decorating homes in the original games, but this spin-off makes it fun, fresh, and easy! No shoving furniture and playing tetris to get them to fit correctly. You can change the positioning with a quick tap of the touch screen, which is great. Each home takes me about 15-45 minutes to decorate, which means it's a ... MoreI have been a long-time fan of Animal Crossing. Even though the houses don't take long, I have spent hours playing this game! The homes are fun to decorate too; you're given "themes" to fit to make your client happy, but even if you don't follow the theme at all your client is always pleased! You can't disappoint in this game and it's pretty rewarding to me. It's always fun to go back and visit past clients and dress them up as well! It's awesome playing and interacting with them in the home you designed. All in all, Happy Home Designer is a great game. It's quick, simple, and easy, and very calming. Nintendo has kept a lot of the winning features from the AC franchise alive in this game, and even added tons of cute new details, but has still kept the game fresh, simple, and uncomplicated. I'm in love.

Analysis Crossing: New Leaf was a huge favorite of mine. I still have the game and I play it as often as I can. Once Happy Homes was released, I was as excited as a twelve year old going to Disney land for the first time. So I bought it (for $40 btw) and after playing it for two days, I immediately regretted it.At first, the game seemed unique and creative. You are actually a worker in Nooks Homes and you get to create various animals dream houses. It was fun putting the houses together but it got boring after a while. After two days, the game started lacking more than just a storyline. It started lacking creativity. Everything you did was the same as before. It lacks so much that really makes a game enjoyable. If the creators would have had expanded more, I would have cherished it differently.
I did not pick up this game expecting a full Animal Crossing game, nor should you. This title focuses on the interior (and exterior) design aspect from the main Animal Crossing series. However, it expands the normal push/pull furniture and fully incorporates the touchscreen to rearrange furniture, shrubbery, carpet, etc. It also does a wonderful job of cataloging all the items available to you as a designer and organizes them with a handy set of tabs so you will not spend all day swiping through every object available. You progression through this game is done one design at a time. Your catalog of items to work with will also expand, encouraging you to revisit past projects and try something new.It is also worth noting that this version comes bundled with the Nintendo 3DS NFC Base. This adds a bit of extra compatibility to a non-new Nintendo 3DS by allowing you to scan Animal Crossing Amiibo cards. The cards may be used to invite the villager on the card over to see a home you designed or even design a house for them. I would not state the Amiibo feature as essential, but it a nice bonus. In summary, it was advertised as a decorating game within the Animal Crossing world, and on that it delivers!
When this game first came out, I had no interest in this game whatsoever. After a couple years of a HARD NO for Happy Home Designer and Amiibo festival, Animal Crossing New Leaf came back with a new free update that made use of the many Animal Crossing Amiibo figures as well as compatibility with Happy Home Designer. Eventually I found myself drawn to the game at its new reduced price and Im glad I did. The game starts off well enough with features I LOVE to see added to the mainline Animal Crossing games. Here you design houses and buildings to your hearts content, technically to your client's content but they're very easy to please when you have what they want. You may be an employee of the Nook's housing place, but you have control over what you do and any Animal ... MoreWhen this game first came out, I had no interest in this game whatsoever. I bought the Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer about 4 months ago shortly after the price dropped to $19.99 at my local Walmart store. I have Animal Crossing Wild World & Animal Crossing New Leaf. I love playing the games, they are cute, fun & the gratification of getting new furniture & clothing items, and banking up bells/coins(?) makes it addicting to play.Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer is fun & has a unique game play. The player basically is an interior designer for the villagers. My forte is anything I can do to full fill my need to be artistic. This is a great game to play while relaxing & clearing the mind, and while waiting ...... at my medical appointments to pass the time. One thing I hope Nintendo would do is incorporate Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer game play with the Animal Crossing New Leaf, whereas the player can exchange items & homes between both games. (BTW I've been playing video games since the mid 1980's. At 56 years old I still enjoy my addiction for video gaming.) I'm playing this on the Nintendo 2DS system & the graphics are great. I highly recommend this game! :D
This game is very different too the original animal crossing dynamic, you are once again working for Tom Nook who gives you more authority over the town than ever. You design residents houses inside and out, you design hospitals, cafes, restaurants, shops, schools. Everything a town needs. You can even change what your character looks like including hair eyes and clothes as long as your wearing your uniform (top) The main part of the gameplay is designing the homes of your residents. You may not have your own house which makes it lack the personal aspect of the game, you can design your residents homes however you like. Overall the game is great too play the controls are easy to use the graphics are good for the game style The dynamic of the game is great as you never run out of room for you to keep designs your created or have obtained via we code. The connectivity of it is also very good as you can upload rooms you've designed and also see ones other have designed to get ideas.. It is a fun spin off of animal crossing for those people who love to design homes.. worth the buy if that's the case
The most frustrating thing I've seen in the Happy Home Designer reviews is people complaining that it's nothing like New Leaf. I feel these are people who must not have looked much into the game before it was released. It is not meant to be a normal Animal Crossing game, nor was it advertised that way. No, you do not earn bells, watch the seasons change, collect badges or form relationships with the villagers. You simply do exactly as the name implies and design houses.I'll admit that I was skeptical about how much enjoyment one could actually get from this game, but I have been pleasantly surprised. When you're finished designing, you can upload your creation to the Happy Home Network, where you can view and rate the works of others as well as compete in design competitions. If you're looking to unleash your creativity in home and building design, you'll enjoy Happy Home Designer. If you have your heart set on fishing and bug catching, stick with New Leaf.

The 3ds also gives you a good convenience of allowing you to download games instead of going to buying them physically of course not all the games are available mostly the older ones but the games that you can buy digitally are amazingly fun. The game that can be brought digitally are Pokmon old and new aka 90s and today Metroid, Mario, and many more. And as for the battery the 3ds battery can last for hours Ive been playing animal crossing for many hours about 3 to 4 and the system seems to be going strong it can lasts for about 5 hours max depending on game and on setting. And for charge time it takes only 3 hours, it least for me it did. As for the graphics they seem pretty great for a hand held console to me the 3d is a very perfect add on to it can even be turned if if you dont want it. As for parents the system comes with parental Controls just Incase this is for the kids, you can basically put a secret pin and help keep your kids play from playing certain games if a game is appropriate for them or not, it also works it they are trying to go online or trying to go online. The 3ds also has a camera but with todays Technology its mostly used for Amiibo and other fun gimmicks for the 3ds such as face riders. I would recommend this to anyone who grow up with Nintendo or anyone who just loves past games as this system has so many games of the past nes, snes,DS, and many more.
