I have owned (and still own) multiple products with the ANKER name on them — several USB-C car chargers, USB-C and USB-A wall chargers, a handful of PowerBanks spread through the family, and most of the charge/sync cables we have now are ANKER Powerline II or Powerline III — and with product quality coupled with the experience that I (and my family) have had with ANKER products, there’s no reason to purchase any other brand.

The biggest problem is that the side that plugs into the wall often falls out, or tilts and loses connection. But the side that I plug cords into is also too loose: if I'm not careful, shaking the cord can cause it to fall out. There have now been multiple times where I set my phone and watch to charge overnight, only to wake up and have them not charged at all because one or the other side fell out. For the price point, this is extremely frustrating. I'm keeping it because being able to carry just one charging brick for traveling is really nice, but I hate that I have to think about the charger each time I use it to ensure it's properly plugged in.

Given the chargers length and having its weight hanging that far out of the wall, the charger was pulling itself out of the outlet even when there was only one usb-c wire connected to it, much less all three. So I contacted Anker support and explained to them the problem I was having with their charger, all the while expecting good customer service. Very sorry to learn about the issues with your charger! We noticed you have tried some troubleshooting before contacting us, and please let me know if you have tried these troubleshooting tips below and see if they are helpful:- Secure the charger with tape"Anker, you are suggesting that every time I need to use your $60 charger, that I tape it to the wall outlet so it will stay plugged in. This would mean that from now on I would need to keep a roll of tape with me everywhere I go so I will always be able to charge my phone! This is absolutely insane! Apparently, when I'm out in public and need to charge my phone, Anker is perfectly fine with other potential customers walking by and seeing an Anker charger having to be held in the outlet with tape. Does Anker really care so little for their brand image? It seems so.I have been a long time customer of Anker but since they want to show such blatant disregard for the customer, I will never buy your product again and I will be returning your charger and then spend that money on a different brand name charger that I can actually use without it requiring me to always buy tape to keep it in the outlet. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Does what its designed to do

Can't complain. Does exactly what it's meant to do in a very sleek form factor. I'm a little concerned about the pins that connect to the outlet being on a hinge. It makes it extra compact, but it does add a possible point of failure in the future. For the uninitiated it has three charging ports. The one with the highest voltage will give you super fast charging with the right device and cable--it's also the one designated for "laptops".I'm going to be clear, the max output of this thing is 60w, if your laptops original charger is not rated the same this will only extend the battery life of the device while you use it. Some smaller laptops are rated similarly so this may suffice, but it's likely not enough. In other words, if your looking for a laptop charger, try ... MoreCan't complain. It's compact, has nice heft to it and it's really solidly built. I managed to drop this guy with some force during a social interaction that involved a lot of hand gestures... It took a tumble and got a tiny dent, but otherwise still works perfectly. If your looking for a good, compact, reliable charger this is a good choice.

Finally - the one charger to rule them all!
15 December 2021

The search has ended! Ever since the introduction of USB-PD and the ability to charge large devices via USB-C became a possibility, I've been dreaming of the "one charger to rule them all." I travel heavily for both work and pleasure and carry a pretty tech-heavy backpack - mirrorless camera, two phones, smartwatch, rechargeable flashlight, battery banks, and of course a laptop. All of the stuff I like to bring I try to efficiently pack as light as I can while maintaining the smallest footprint possible. While there have been numerous chargers on the market that provide plenty of wattage to support a laptop such as Anker's own 715 65W charger (ultrabooks typically start at 40W and above), the issue I ran across is that not everything is USB-C yet, and also having ... MoreThe search has ended! My requirement for a charger was simple - one that incorporated both USB-C as well as USB-A for legacy cables and devices that needed it.Enter this charger - I truly believe Anker has created the ultimate "best of all worlds" charger based on the current tech that is available. The USB-C/USB-A ports combined with the max output of 65W which allows charging of macbooks/ultrabooks in a compact and slim size is a winner.Build quality is extremely impressive - the soft matte finish is silky smooth and very pleasant to touch, and the color is very professional and unobtrusive for professional environments while looking great. This plug does stick out further than a typical folding plug charger (see pictures for example) and therefore is more prone to being knocked off a wall outlet or caught on something, but the compromise is much better than a fatter plug that would block the second outlet or not work for certain outlets at all (think recessed airplane seat outlets). Also the prongs are very strong and aid in keeping the charger tight in the outlet.I've been using this charger for a couple weeks now between all my devices and it has been faultless. Only thing I do wish it had was a small LED indicator to show the charger has power (many outlets don't work depending on where you travel; hotel lamp sockets, airplanes, etc.) - older anker chargers used to have a very unobtrusive soft white LED. Other than that - the future is here and I can't wait to see if the next generation of these GaN chargers gets even smaller/more powerful!

Great portable charger but get 737 Charger 120W if own MacBook Pro

Firstly I am huge fan of Anker products. I have owned them for years going back to the Anker Powercore 1000 which I got in 2016. They make quality products that work well and last.I was excited when I saw and bought the Anker 735 charger which, as a traveler, would reduce my laptop bag and save me carrying my big MacBook power cord. This is a great combination charger with 2 USB C and 1 USB B ports. The only way I got my 13 inch MacBook Pro to charge was either in sleep mode or turning on low power mode so the power draw was less. This is why I wish I had got the 737 which has 120W output, not 65W.Still a great charger for smaller laptops and devices and still in my bag but had to get a smaller MacBook power adapter for now.

Max power is limited if anything else is plugged into this adapter
7 January 2023

This is the standard 735 NANO II 65W (not GANPrime model). The one negative to this charger is that if you use the high power usb3.0 output, its output is limited if you have a cable plugged into the second (lower power usb 3 output) or the USB A output EVEN IF THERE IS NOTHING ATTACHED TO THE SECOND CABLE. This was not intuitive. The product clearly states that the high power output is limited to 40 (or 45 watts) depending what is connected to the second usb C and or A port. What I was surprised by is that this is true even if those ports are not connected/drawing power. If you want the full 65W charging for your laptop you must remove the cables from the other two ports (not just the devices attached to those cables). I don't know if this is fixed with the GANPrime model but I suspect it may be given that it is supposed to optimize the outputs. Anyway, this is not a deal breaker but you should be aware of it.Otherwise, this is a very good charger. It is very high quality, compact and perfect for travel. If I were to order again I would definitely order the GANPrime model. It can be had for a very similar price and I would hope it fixes the odd limitation with cables. Why it mattered to me is that I leave the charger plugged in with three cables attached so that I can charge any of three devices. For me to get max power for the laptop means I have to crawl under the desk to remove the other two cables. I don't consider this ideal for a $50 charger. But that is just me.

I bought this charger because first it has the GaN chip and this new process technology allow the chip to be much more efficient. The second reason is the technology to detect what device is being charged based on the protocols that some manufactures like Apple and Samsung use to output the right power to the device. This means that a port can output 10W or 63W and can re-balance the power when multiple devices are connected. There are a few other manufacturers that are producing similar chargers with GaN and multiple protocols supported. But Anker is being in this charger market for a long to and become one of the most respected brands. You may find some other chargers cheaper. But I preffered to stay of a well stablished brand and I'm happy with this ... MoreI bought this charger because first it has the GaN chip and this new process technology allow the chip to be much more efficient. Well Built & Versatile Charger

I've been using Anker charging products for a while. They're continually -- in my opinion -- innovating the best charging and battery products. This compact charger is pretty great. It's about half the size (though of similar weight - very dense) of my MacBook Pro chargers. (both the 90W and 96W varieties)It can charge all of the PD-compatible MacBooks and MacBook Pros in my household (4) as well as all of our iPhones (various generations), batteries, and other electronics.Where I previously found myself swapping a cable for that extra third device with my old Anker charger, I can now just add the cord for that 3rd device. I normally only charge 2 things at once where this device is used except when traveling. Previously, I'd have to take both an Anker USB-C Micro charger _and_ a large combo Anker Charger when I'd travel. Now, I can use this one device which is smaller than one of those old devices but does the same work as both combined.Only con I have found is that when plugging in a new device you may notice that devices may 'reconnect' despite having never been unplugged. I suspect this has to do with the charger redistributing the available current to all the connected devices. But honestly, it's not a big deal for me as all the devices I use it with have batteries and won't have an issue with a quick drop in power.
