I have found that this adapter doesn't work with some displays. I tested other adapters and HDMI cords so it is the adapter's problem, not the display/cable. I think this is an older version of the adapter (it says v2 on the box). The one I got directly from Anker is v5, so perhaps they have updated it to be better. I would reccomend paying the extra $5 for the one directly from Anker.

Excellent!

Plugged in the new adapter and cable with no issues and everything has worked perfectly since (even some challenging streaming services, VPN, and Zoom). I feel very happy that, by doing a little homework and using Amazon, I was able to troubleshoot and fix the problem expeditiously. 5 stars for both devices!

I had purchases a USBC to HDMI adapter from Apple that was much more expensive. I realized Anker sold one for less than half the price, so I returned the adapter to Apple, and bought the Anker one. Now it is possible the Apple adapter gives a clearer pix. I am not sure, but the Anker adapter works well enough with my old TV and new IPadAir. I hadn't thought i'd be able to use the IPadAir with old TV at all, so I am delighted.

Justin & Customer Service Team are AWESOME!

Product works great and is built extremely well. The braided cable is really useful in tighter setup situations and allows for greater flexibility when setting up my laptop. For those wondering, support for 60 Hz refresh rate really makes a difference, especially when comparing to other adapters I have that are also 4K but only have 30 Hz refresh rate. It has even allowed me to use older monitors I have that do not support anything below 60 Hz.I had a slight issue with screen flicker that was likely due to something with the particular adapter I received. It was a totally hassle-free process, and Justin was extremely efficient and knowledgeable in taking the necessary actions to have my replacement sent. Some customers may state that Anker products are more expensive and why pay more, but the answer to that question is simple: CUSTOMER SERVICE. Reps like Justin make it worth spending the few extra dollars to get the best customer support service available. For this reason, I will ALWAYS choose Anker when given the choice between two similar products.Thank you Justin and thank you Anker. You guys and gals rock!

Solid build, very good performance
8 October 2023

I'll start by saying that I like everything I've ever gotten from this company. I needed a USB-C to HDMI adapter to let me add another monitor to a laptop that only had one HDMI adapter. Plugged in my Anker cable, connected the monitor's HDMI, and it worked great. The cable and the adapter ends are well built, does a great job transmitting high-quality data to my monitor. The fact that it's very compact makes it simple for me to use with multiple machines, as well as allowing me to quickly unplug my laptop when I need to move. I strongly recommend these.

Unbelievable adapter

Was using an Apple usb c to 3.5 mm for my wired ear buds. No power to drive earbuds, volume just very average to below average. Purchased the Anker usb c to 3.5mm adapter and OMG what a difference! This is for anyone with an s22ultra, or probably any other android phone with usb c port and no headphone jack. I can’t even begin to tell you the huge improvement in sound volume and even sound stage quality I’m hearing. I’m using 1More Triple Driver wired earbuds and they have never sounded so good. With the apple adp I had to turn volume on phone to the max for an average listening volume. The Anker adp would be loud enough at just about three quarters volume or less. Plenty of power and sound to really drive the triple drivers. This is without a portable dac amp like ... MoreWas using an Apple usb c to 3.5 mm for my wired ear buds. Works for a 4K TV as second screen (non-mirrored) @ 60hz refresh with Macbook Pro 16" (2019)

Finally I have my second screen working at 60hz refresh rate (non-mirrored & mirrored)! I had been dealing with a 30hz refresh rate (and all that lag!) on my Samsung TV when using it as my second screen with my work laptop (Macbook Pro 16" - 2019 model) for some time.I have done loads of research and found very conflicting comments, blog posts and articles to try to make my second screen (a Samsung 40" UHD 4k TV) work at 60hz with my MBP. First, I upgraded my HDMI cables to 2.0 and beyond. No dice! Still 30hz. I then found mis-leading specs from Apple on their own USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter (it maxes out at 30hz for a second screen that's a TV when using HDMI. Don't let them tell you otherwise). It works up to and at 4k resolution (3840 x 2160) @ 60hz on my TV as the second screen!!!I was excited enough that I immediately started writing this review and included a screen shot for proof. I know this will help save others the hours of time that I spent researching how to make this work. I can't speak to the longevity of the adapter yet, but my other Anker products are all still trucking along so I'm very pleased so far.

I've been through a few different HDMI adapters. I had a JCreate from Best Buy which cost $50, and turned out to be one of the worst products I've ever purchased. No joke, I tested it, if you so much as touched it with the tip of your finger, it would disconnect. It also had USB plugs (which this does not), so if I was backing up files on an external drive I had to get up and walk away from my computer so I didn't make a slight movement and cause it to disconnect and corrupt my drive. Then I bought one of those all in one boxes that has the HDMI, USB-A, USB-C, and a few SD slots. Turned out to be a mass produced dropshipping product (Amazon is full of those these days!), and neither it or the replacement worked right.Honestly, all I wanted was something that I ... MoreI've been through a few different HDMI adapters. Turned out to be a mass produced dropshipping product (Amazon is full of those these days!), and neither it or the replacement worked right.Honestly, all I wanted was something that I could plug into my monitor to give me some extra screen real estate. I can't believe how hard it is to find one of those.I decided to give this a try. I didn't trust it at first because there's no power supply. With the JCreate I had no power supply so I would constantly get errors that "One of your accessories is taking up too much power." I thought I'd get the same with this, but really wanted an extra monitor to work with, so I decided to go with it. I've owned Anker problems before. I had an issue with a bluetooth keyboard a few years back and they were quick to send me a replacement.I got this, plugged it in, plugged my monitor in, and surprise! It worked. No flickering. No disconnects. No pop up errors! I've finally found the holy grail.I will say that on a very rare occasion the screen will turn off for a split second and then turn back on. But it's nothing even close to how often the JCreate did it. I can even scoot my computer without it disconnecting.Quality-wise, it's not a fancy brushed aluminum, and doesn't feel like a steel tank. I think it's just plastic, but it's good quality. The JCreate (I know I keep comparing it to that, but it was terrible), was made of metal/aluminum, but it felt like a tin box. It was so thin and cheap. This one is plastic, but it feels thick and durable. OH! Also the cord is braided to keep it fraying like Apple's and other companies are known to do.Overall, I think this is another good entry into Anker's great reputation. I'm giving 5 stars in spite of the occasional flicker, because it seriously happens so rarely that you won't get taken out of your flow.

Works reasonably well with Note 8

When I first moved into my house, I went a month without internet. My only option was my cell phone. Of course I could tether it to my laptop, but being unsure of any tethering data limit, I wanted to keep this to a minimum. I began looking at adapters such as this for Netflix, but never ended up getting one at the time. So, when this came up a few months later, as a Lightning Deal, I jumped on it.I've tried it on my TV and on an ultra-wide monitor. It works well on both. A couple things to note:1) It leaves a black border around the edges of the screen. I'm not sure if the Samsung adapter does this or not, as I've never tried it. It may be normal, and it's not too big an issue for me.2) You may want to start with a fully charged battery. It may be normal, and it's not too big an issue for me.2) You may want to start with a fully charged battery. The adapter seems to draw power from the phone, and drains the battery a little faster. Also, since it's taking up your charging port, you won't be able to use a charger at the same time. When I connected it to my TV, through my Yamaha receiver, the phone said it was connected to a charger, but it was not charging, as I watched the battery percentage drop while connected. It works well for, say, watching a movie from Netflix or Disney+, etc, as long as you start with plenty of charge, but you'll probably need to charge your device again afterward. It may work great with a laptop. Maybe I'll try that at a later date, in which case I'll update my review.Edit: the black border on the external display seems to be dependent on the display its connected to. One of my TVs works fine, with only a small border at the left and right edge. The one I had tried before writing the review initially had borders all the way around. But that was an ultra wide, so it probably didn't know how to handle it.
