However, you can watch as the liquid approaches the top of the bag, press the vacuum and seal button to stop the process, then press the seal button to complete the process. The bag remains mostly vacuum. Great device for price,

The first Pro unit I was sent had issues where the actual temperature would heat higher than the set temperature, which was a bummer, but Anova replaced the unit pretty quickly and I was off to the races. I cooked 12 steaks at once on July 4th, finishing them on the BBQ. All my guests had never heard of sous-vide and were very impressed with the results. The other great thing I made was corn on the cob. 181 degrees for 35 mins with salt and butter in the bag. Highly recommend it. I may need to get another Anova so I can cook meat and veggies at the same time.

Using the Anova Vacuum Sealer with these bags was SO easy. Just used them for an whole Angus Beef Tenderloin, cut down to individual servings. 2 servings per bag, 10 bags of meat=10 meals popped in the freezer!!! I had to watch to make sure the juices didn't get up into the sealer but I used the pulse option and it worked great! So happy to use smaller bags with these little gems. Can't wait for Mid Winter Michigan (-10 degrees plus lol) where I can Anova Sous Vide the little rascals and finish in my favorite cast iron sautee pan!
Good quality bags but a bit overpriced! I would try some Amazon sous vide bags in the future just to see the difference in quality. Would definitely buy more from Anova if there was some extra discount in buying a year's supply or something like that.
These rolls provide a good seal the majority of the time. However, there are times when the vacuum seal will fail and air will enter the bag. Also, the rolls are sometime wrinkled, which makes it harder for the machine to seal it (I've had to cut away the wrinkles parts so that my Naive machine was able to seal the plastic).
My top complaint with this vacuum sealer is the lack of clear instructions. The only thing you get in the package is a series of drawn pictures that tries to show how to use the product. The information you're getting though is really unclear; there are no instructions on the buttons or what exactly they do. It's a complete guessing game from these pictures. After trying this out a few times, sometimes I was successful in sealing something, but most of the time not. And maybe this has to do with just guessing how to use it. If you have anything with liquid in it, the sealing just didn't work. Ultimately wound up sending this back and getting a full refund.
I purchased these bags to accompany my new Anova vacuum sealer, which so far is performing fine with these bags. I haven't done too much, but I have successfully vacuum sealed a cup of cubed fresh pineapple, a wedge of soft cheese and the keys to the liquor cabinet. I'm hoping that the first two will be sealed for freshness for weeks to come and that the third will keep Uncle Larry from getting into the gin again. You know how he is. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. Thanks for asking!
I bought the vacuum sealer to simplify food preparation for my Anova Nano, also thinking I could vacuum seal food directly from the store and freeze the packets until I was ready to cook. It's a great unit, easily stored in a drawer, and the bags (individual and rolled) work just fine. However, the information that came with the unit states the sealed bags keep the contents safe in the freezer for only 3 months. I was hoping that the bags would be freezer safe for up to a year. I would still recommend the unit.
I bought these bags because they are sold by the same manufacturer as my vacuum sealer (Anova), so I figured I would not have any issues with them working together. I am new to sous vide cooking, so I'm not sure if these are better or worse quality-wise than other brands. But they have worked well for me so far (I am about halfway through one roll already) and none of them have burst or leaked. I also double seal both ends of the bag. I believe these are BPA-free and they seem to be sturdy. I feel more confident using these with my sous vide than I do using a zipper-type plastic bag. Happily cooking with these bags and my Anova sous vide and vacuum sealer!
