AnySharp Pro Knife Sharpener

The best knife sharpener I have ever had. Very efficient and easy to use as the ingenious suction base fixes the sharpener firmly to the work surface, so it is not necessary to hold it with one hand while sharpening the knife with the other. This also makes it very safe to use. (Surface does need to be smooth, though. Granite, marble or metal for example. It wouldn't work on a rough textured surface.)Able to sharpen the dullest blade just by using a bit more pressure. Gentle pressure nicely hones an already sharp blade.Good, solid construction too.

Initially I thought it very small ( 28 mm dia. ) . After securely using the suction feature to fix it to a smooth surface , which incidentally can be at any angle, the sharpener went on to fully sharpen 10 knives in 10 minutes . The sharpness produced was excellent for general kitchen use , but if I had given more attention to each knife , an extra-sharp & keener edge would have resulted . The sharpener was so effective that a word of warning should be given , in that very light pressure on drawing the knife back between the sharpening blades will produce better i.e. sharper cutting edges . Too much downward pressure will result in large amounts of good metal being scraped off , and a nasty grinding noise . For the everyday cook this sharpener works amazing. The small size makes it so easy to store in corner of my knife drawer. Easy to use - there are YouTube videos available to show how to use properly. Sharpens knives with about 10 pulls, serrated bread knife I only used about 5 pulls as I didn’t want to damage the serrated part and it still made a huge difference in cutting crusty breads. I use Henkel’s higher end knives - so not high end chef’s knives but not low end either. Also adhered solidly to countertop - just make sure counter and bottom of sharpener are clean and dry.
