My cats prefer this to all other litter. I have 3 cats, with one being part Maine Coon, so litter odour control is an issue. I have used everything from clay, crystal, tofu and everything in between- this surpasses all of them. My cats love this and there is no smell. The urine clumps and easy to scoop up and the poo is covered and does not smell!!!!! My 3 prefer the litter that uses this and other litter is not used.

The Applaws liter is so good. It clumps really well, and there is little to no smell. The fact that it's made from walnut shells really makes the difference. Our cats prefer it over the crystals, clay & paper styles, as the small grains are soft on paws (& feet) It's easy to tell when to change too, as it has a maximum saturation point where the litter will become darker. This also means it's easy to flush, as it will revert back to individual granules when too wet. This has been our number 1 choice for years, and will continue to be so.

Love this kitty litter. We have a VERY fussy Burmese who has started using kitty litter again after years of doing her business NEXT to the kitty litter tray (we tried everything). Our other cat also loves it because she can dig and dig and dig… highly recommended despite it getting caught in their paws on occasion. Great with clumping and helps a lot with odour.

I've used many different brands of cat litter including those from supermarkets and pet stores. This is my favourite. Lots of brands claim to mask smells, this one actually does a good job. It's expensive but it lasts longer than others I've tried because it clumps waste using less product than most others. The clumps are also not sticky like some. The only other product that compares involves shaking it through a tray with holes and emptying and cleaning the lower tray which I don't really like. I'd recommend this litter.
This product is one of the better clumping cat litters (which are the best kind in my opinion). Of course within the clumping cat litter category there are various types depending on the material they are made from, their dry-clumping ability, and how long they last before they need to be replaced.. Some of the clumping litters are not very good which results in smelly, wet messes in the box and need changing too often. A perfect cat litter needs to be very hygroscopic which promotes dry clumping enabling the clumps to be removed in a solid mass without any residue in the remaining litter. This effect enables long litter life ensuring value for money, reduces the work entailed in cleaning the litter box, and minimizes odours from the litter. Applaws Natures Calling ... Applaws Natures Calling is also environmentally friendly as it is made from processed walnut shells. All plus-factors considered I would give this product a score of 8.5/10.
I have been using Applaws Clumping Cat Litter for many years and of all the products I have tried before, this is what works best. I use it differently than the recommended, only a smaller amount in the tray and once used and clumped, I just tip the unused material into a clean tray and add a bit more. In this way, Max always has a clean tray, he would not use it otherwise.
I used this cat litter for many years. But for the last few months noticed that the litter does not clump well and clump breaks when I tried to scoop. It leaves very wet pieces of clump and very difficult to pick up. I thought I have a bad batch at first, but I bought many bags after and same issues. What a shame.
I had such high hopes for this litter given the amazing reviews. Sadly, this has to be the worst litter I've ever used. It is unbelievably dusty. It had me sneezing while I was pouring it out, and a layer of brown dust coated the sides of the litter box. The cats were unimpressed as well. I tried two methods to get them to use it. One method was a new litter box with only this litter. It was a total failure. Both cats walked in, scratched the litter everywhere, sneezing as they dug, then left without using it. I also tried adding a small amount to their current pellet litter and they both scratched litter everywhere, something they normally don't do. I think they were trying to find a spot that didn't have the new litter. I'm hoping I can use it on the garden as mulch!
Wow! This stuff is amazing. I was a bit put off by the price but it's so worth it. I'd been using the wood pellet litter before, and wasn't very happy with it, so splashed out on this one. There's no tracking, it turns urine into nice clumps, and also faeces if it's a bit loose. It's so easy to find with the pooper scooper, and there's no smell! Wonderful stuff, give it a try!
After trying about 5 different litters, I have settled on this one. The main reason being smell, all others had a smell to me, while this one is great, no smell at all. Very neutral when clean (out of the bag), and still virtually no smell when used by the cat. I clean the box once a day. There is a little dust when cleaning the box, but no more than other types, and definitely not as bad as other reviews claim. CON: The only real negative is that pee/wet spots are not obvious. Other litter types have a visible wet spot/clump that are easy to clean out, but this one has no colour, This means that you need to hunt for the pee clumps.
