I take care of my products so wasn't too concerned about potential scratches showing, but I was a bit hesitant due to finger prints, but it really doesn't cause any issues and I haven't had to keep wiping it, so quite pleased.When you fire it up which is almost instantaneous, the first thing that I noticed was the screen resolution which is absolutely beautiful. The colours are crisp and the definition is exceptional. I'm not a gamer so not concerned about refresh rates etc..., but it's nice to know it can handle it.Battery life is as advertised and exceptional. I can travel and not need to charge it for a couple of days with pretty heavy use. This is a huge win. When I do need to charge it, it's extremely fast to achieve a full charge.I'm really pleased with my purchase and it is an exceptional laptop. For anyone that prefers iOS to other operating systems and hasn't upgraded their MacBook in a while will appreciate the familiarity and quality of an Apple product, and will enjoy the speed of the Apple M3 chip. As always, I'm confident purchasing my larger ticket items from John Lewis thanks to their excellent after sales service.

Speakers have bass which is rare on a laptop, even more on a 14" laptop, trackpad is the perfect size (the 16" is unneccesarily large), and the keyboard is much better than the annoying butterfly ones Apple used to supply (although the travel is a bit small for me, but I am 6'5" so my hands are on the larger end). Battery life is ~13 with moderate loads at 50% brightness, and it's probably much better at lower brightness (but beware, more than 75% that'll cut down to about 8 hours). All in all, this is an amazing product. The compatibility issues noted are not bad at all unless you want to game, in which case you shouldn't even think about a Mac, they are for productivity and creation, not gaming. All in all, this is a great machine, and I think I'm team Apple now. Guess those Mac vs. PC ads were right all along.

I decided to go with a smaller screen size this time to aid in travel, since I have a 27 external monitor for use @ home. Since my monitor doesn't use USB-C (DisplayPort w/ a USB-A hub), I needed to convert the cabling to plug into the ... After a quick search online, it appears that Brother will not be porting over any drivers for my printer to Apple silicon, but there may be a work around for the scanner, which I haven't gotten around to implementing yet.So, just be sure to factor in some extra time or money to get any older software to work on Apple silicon if you are coming from any older Intel based Macs.

This model is not worth it at all. I’m a very advanced user and deal with just about every type of personal computer for my job in an PC hardware compatibility lab for a software publisher. I am actually not impressed with any of the Apple Silicone based MacBooks at all. Especially with the newer found security vulnerabilities, but that is really not something that will affect every user. If, you must have/require a Macbook, I would just skip this model. I recommend either you have the nicer screen than the air with added IO and stick to the Base M3 Macbook Pro, or shell out the extra $1000 and go to the MAX. But only go to the M3 MAX if you need a more powerful option. The performance difference between this model and the base M3 is so negligible, the GPU at this ... Typically, I am connected to a single 4K display with the lid closed. This is so beyond unacceptable for me at this price point. I get better performance from the iGPU on my 5 year old 9th Gen i9 Linux based PC.

I made a mistake and used the migration assistant and it messed up the macOS so bad that I had to factory reset the MacBook. After that this thing only gets bogged down if you are doing a ridiculous amount of file transfers and some applications you have to be mindful that they don’t start to bleed out your memory so you should keep activity monitor open as some websites while the user is using safari can cause this but no issue as long you keep a close eye on activity monitor as if you are doing video editing you can watch the CPU usage( if you are into that type of thing) cold boot to after login screen is around 5 ... You can play games don’t try to download the other game store apps and install games as Rosetta 2 probably supports the CPU side of things but not the GPU side. Games work from the Apple Store but I temper expectations since the Apple silicon been around for less than 5 years and developers are still poking at it. The only time the fans kick on is when I am playing a game but I’m sure someone who does 3D modeling would not look at this configuration. Storage is 1TB which should be enough for most people but try to get an external storage solution. The Battery life is the best battery life I have ever experienced in a laptop, I have gotten two days for heavy use and 4 days for light use. Display is nice but refrain from using a screen protector as it would increase the reflection from a light source. Glad I didn’t get the 32GB of RAM version since the only fan spinning thing I do is play a game here or there. If you own a lot of legacy devices, I suggest a dock. Overall, if you require a powerful, portable and battery efficient laptop, this is a proper choice
Due to the nature and variation in my work environment, I have generally preferred laptops. I have enjoyed the latest generation of Apple Silicon MacBook Pros because they fixed many issues with previous laptops across the board. I was worried about Space Black ending up with too many fingerprints, but that hasn't been my experience after a few weeks of usage. It requires minimal cleaning, just like the Space Gray color.My main complaint with the MacBook Pros is their keyboard and how the finish rubs off the keys after regular usage. I wish Apple could figure something out about this because it makes the keyboard look bad after a while as if it was abused!If you are a macOS user, you can't go wrong with the latest 14" MacBook Pros.
It’s a thing of beauty, but from what Ive heard and read its been somewhat neutered by Apple intentionally to “force” people to upgrade to the Max version. Idk, it’s a significant upgrade for me from my 8gb ram M1 Pro. The XDR (Apple’s proprietary HDR) implementation is a sight to behold. Apple released their liquid motion 120hz display last gen in M2 Macbooks, which I very much wished they had done for M1 Macs, so it’s lovely having that now. Its not terrible and its better than the M1 imo, but again outclassed by the ROG Ally at 1/4 the price.Alright - all of that said - the main reason I am even using a Mac instead of a Windows PC is to produce and play music on the Apple OS. The Apple workflow, environment, the stability, the efficiency while on battery - and the clean, efficient file/folder structure makes Apple computers stay fresh and new feeling. It appears to be the exact opposite in Windows computers which makes me want to (and actually do) reformat and reinstall Windows OS fresh at least every 6-12 months because of how cluttered and inefficient the OS and file structure is! Windows is a HOARDER, and I cant be inspired or as creative in that environment. I guess Im a neat freak. So be it.It sucks, because I am such a life long gamer and it would have been really really nice to have the power of that 13th gen i9 Intel + RTX 4080 combo I saw for $600 off on sale at $1999 (I think it was an alienware?), everything about it seemed perfect for me including a sweet AMOLED screen.So if you’re in a position where you prioritize work/music/creativity/graphic design over gaming - I say go with Apple. The M3 Pro can still do some moderate gaming, but not nearly as well as a Windows machine.If you’re in it mostly for playing video games and work/business/music is not much of a consideration - then the choice is easy friends.

This change might impact performance in tasks that rely heavily on performance cores, such as music production.Aside from the sound issues, I encountered a few operational glitches: I can't use the “Share” feature to email or message from Safari, as these options are disabled in System Settings. Additionally, Apple's “Stocks” app crashed while running in the background despite no other third-party apps being active.Overall, the MacBook Pro M3 Pro represents a significant power and speed upgrade from my M1 iMac and iPad Air 5th gen. However, I advise against opting for any "Pro" version with less than 18GB RAM or 512GB SSD. For general use, a MacBook Air M2 might be a more suitable choice. While I appreciate the new Space Black color, I wish there was a Midnight (dark blue) option.For better sound quality, I recommend using Apple HomePod Minis. Although they don’t support Bluetooth, they connect via AirPlay to Macs and the Amazon Music app. One of these tiny speakers offers superior sound compared to the MacBook’s built-in speakers and is also better than other home speaker options. Additionally, adjusting the Apple Music app’s equalizer settings can enhance sound quality and volume. For most songs, settings like “Lounge” or “R&B” work well, improving both clarity and loudness.
