I have a 2008 G5 for producing music and photo. It recently became obsolete for paying bills and posting on eBay so I needed something newer for those tasks. I have trusted OWC for over a decade and looked to them for a secondary computer and thought an iMac would do the trick.I wanted something that ran the latest version of OSX and would remain viable for years.This iMac does the trick and came beautifully packed and ready to go. A few software updates later as well as data transfer via Ethernet cable and I couldnt be more pleased.Thank you OWC.

About 6 months later I bought a 16GB upgrade kit for $150.00. Took a while, few weeks of watching videos, and I took it apart and added the extra memory. Not near as difficult as I made it out to be, Great improvement in performance. Well worth the upgrade and cheaper than having apple do it and I got good experience working on this. Want to do CPU upgrade next to i& 7700. Almost the same as putting in the memory which took about 4 hours including breaks, Most of the time was in detail work. Put the memory in ad booted right up no problems. Very pleased with myself. My usage of this computer is mostly for Netflix, Spotify, and occasional web browsing. I don't use it super often, and don't have much on it, yet it's soooo slow! Can't imagine how much slower it will be when it's old. Right from the get-go, I noticed it being laggy, but I needed it, as I was in college. The MacBook Pro's I'd borrow had more content on them and had many more programs running on them at the same time, and they handled it well.Also, apparently Apple doesn't just swap out faulty computers that are under a year old at their stores anymore. They now take your computer away and ship them off to be repaired, and then will be shipped back to you.
Computer arrived in great visible shape. From the beginning I have had to reboot consistently when my FACTSET. program would stall all the time. It also was fairly slow. I would immediately put it on my laptop and it ran very consistently. Not happy with the overall operation of consistently having to reboot in order to achieve a solid working environment.
Ordered what was described as "Mint Condition" iMac but received what is really "Good". The aluminum edges are rough like they were scraped on cement, the screen has a number of scratches and has some sort of oily coating on it that I'm not sure how to remove. So far seems to run ok but I did pay extra for "Mint". I have a well used 2011 iMac in better condition.

CD and DVD drives have been ditched along with CTR tunes and you now have a PC that has such a high density pixel count it’s imposible to actual see the tiny squares anymore on the Retina display. It’s easy to see why designers like myself choose these machines. You can stand up, sit down or move left and right in your seat and the colour and brightness on screen remains constant at all times. Apple have done it again and have proven they even though they still only have a tiny slice of the personal computer market they know how to build stunning PCs that are as nice to look at as use.
