My first Samsung was an S5. Since then I purchased Samsung through and including the S21 5G. Decided to change since virtually all my immediate and close family members use iPhones. Been using my iPhone 13 since mid-July 2020. After a relatively short learning curve I am loving it. Simple to use; features are appropriate for my basic needs. Camera is great. Battery so far has been excellent. My biggest complaint so far is the placement of the send arrow in the same box as where you type your text message. It is really easy to accidentally hit the arrow while composing or editing a text message. Very easy to update apps and the operating system. Display is very nice. My last few iPhones have lasted me a long time, I bought a 13 after almost 4 years with my XR (iPhone 10). With a good amount of time between purchases I normally see a big difference/improvement in many areas upon getting a new iphone. Not this time. Camera is supposed to be much higher quality - I can't get it to focus without having to manually switch a setting and even then the XR photos would focus better and show more detail in the photo. It sounds much worse than the XR did - on a call the sound quality is noticeably poorer than my XR. The style of the phone is reminiscent of an iPhone 4, boxy and small, fit is not as comfortable in my hand width wise as the XR (normal size XR) was. I'm seeing no noticeable difference in operating speed and battery life which are supposed to be improved, does not appear to be any different for me over the XR. In all I wish I had taken my XR to a repair shop to confirm it was not able to be fixed instead of shelling out almost $900 for a new iPhone that in my opinion is a down grade from the XR three models prior! Note that NOT included in the box is the plug required to charge this phone, and no headphones. The lightening cord from a newer previous iPhone will work if your going from iPhone to iPhone but if you are new to an apple phone I guess Apple expects you to spend $900 for a phone and not even provide you with what you need to charge it! I've never been disappointed with an iPhone purchase before (iPhone4, iPhone5, iPhone6, iPhoneXR) but I am now. Apple drastically lowered the bar on the standards of an apple product with the iPhone 13 (and it appears on the iPhone 12 as well from the reviews I'm reading on them). I wish I hadn't been in a pinch causing me to make this purchase without researching first, mistake on my part.

Bought to replace an old iPhone and an old iPad Mini both of which are dying.I have mixed feelings about Apple products, okay they tick lots of boxes, and many people are devoted to them. I'm not one, but I do like that generally Apple stuff has less security issues than eg Android, so hopefully less likely to be hacked. On the downside, batteries are always an issue, and in these days of planet-consciousness, large global companies should be leading the way to fight the "replace rather than upgrade" culture.I didn't much like the old iPhone SE (too small, the battery died, and now Apple won't update it grrrrhh), but loved my iPad Mini 4.So yes, it does work as a replacement for both. The 6" screen is just about okay to hold, and to do everything I need to do on it. Being new, everything works like a dream, and quickly, and there are some tweaks from the old version which I welcome, like being able to silence unknown calls until you've checked them out.I'm not into photos and selfies, so the cameras are wasted on me. One camera would have done me fine, and I would have liked an option to have a cheaper phone with less cameras.Oh, and the battery is still only just enough, which is why I've only given it 4 stars. I rarely play music on it, don't store zillions of photos, and don't talk for ages on it. I read on it quite a bit, and text a little, and look up stuff on the web, and it's down to 80% at the end of the day, sometimes less. For a new battery, that's quite a drop I reckon. And they don't tell you what the battery size is so you can't compare with others, or replace it.. time to change that Apple, if you are looking.
I tell you I’m loving the iPhone 13. I’m upgrading from the LG Velvet and you know LG had some issues but, let not beat your head around the bush. Display is amazing as well even though I work I would keep it at 100% but, on my off days I just keep off the charger mamma Mia!! It a really nice and great phone with great battery life!!
Just upgraded to this from a Samsung Galaxy S10e a couple days ago, and let me tell you something. For me, this was a huge jump because I've had very little experience with iOS prior to buying this phone. And to start off, I love every aspect of this phone, especially Siri and the cameras! Speaking of which, the cameras on this thing are insane! Way less noisy and grainy in the background than my Samsung. Another feature I absolutely love is the Face ID, which detects your face almost instantly, unlike my S10e. And the last feature I really love on this thing is setting Do Not Disturb based on location. This was a feature that my Samsung did not have and I cannot tell you how helpful this is! And the last feature I really love on this thing is setting Do Not Disturb based on location. This was a feature that my Samsung did not have and I cannot tell you how helpful this is! One being that I don't have to readjust the time schedule of Do Not Disturb and the second being that it will not turn of until you're a certain distance away from that location (which can be adjusted in Settings). Overall, as a former Android user, I cannot tell you how much I love my iPhone 13! It has way more features than my old phone and it's also blazing fast! I would definitely recommend this phone!
This is a decent phone. Voice to text And swipe are nudistly less accurate than on android but nothing to ruin your day, and the rest of the features of the phone are all excellent. With one exception. The screen is substandard. Within a month of buying the phone there were numerous small scratches on the surface of the screen. Apple refuses to cover repairs. Looking around the Internet, this seems to be a pretty common problem. If you buy this phone, get a full coverage screen protector immediately. Even something as simple as putting the phone in your pocket and taking it out again risks scratching the screen otherwise. For $800, they really ought to have done better.
I was led to believe that my 13 Pro Max would do and be all sorts of wonderful but, actually, it’s not much different than all the rest.Mine has a touchscreen difficulty, similar, at times, the issues that plagued me with my I-6… often I tap, tap, tap on the screen with little or no response. I have to either turn the phone off and restart it… or, reset network settings to get around it. On other occasions, I move my finger within a 1/4” of the screen and it activates whatever was nearest my finger. On other occasions, I move my finger within a 1/4” of the screen and it activates whatever was nearest my finger. There have also been times where drops of perspiration, hitting the screen will change a display… depending upon where the drop of sweat hits the screen. There is a glitch, when taking photos, where the photo pixilates. Most often it will normalize when retaking the photo but every once in a while, it will continue to pixelate 2-3 times… differently, with each subsequent photo.I was led to believe that I would be able to take “macro” photos. Apparently, the individual making this claim knows absolutely nothing about photography. Yes, it… on occasion… will take a decent “closeup” (not the same as “macro”) but even that can be difficult and very time consuming because the phone camera cannot decide where the focus should be. My subject of the photo, “bounces” wildly around the screen and I must ready myself to make an extremely quick shot if it “bounces” into a more desired area, compositionally speaking. It’s extremely difficult, also, to get the focus on a smaller object in the foreground, if there is anything large enough, in the background, for the camera to focus on. An example would be, attempting to photograph, say, a flower in the foreground and leaves are behind it… the focus will switch quickly from the flower to the leaves in the background. There seriously needs to be a way to set the camera to focus on the main subject and leave the background blurry. The “portrait mode” is “supposed” to this but it fails miserably the vast majority of the time and you cannot get very close to the subject in “portrait” settings.
This is literally the worst phone I have ever owned. It constantly pocket dials 911 since a recent update. The accidental touch protection only activates while I am intentionally trying to unlock my phone. The biggest problem is the moisture detection. The tiniest thing will set it off from a piece of dust to high humidity. The plastic case makes wireless charging impossible so sometimes my phone will be dead for days.I've already had the phone replaced once within a few getting and the new phone they sent had the exact same problems.Absolute waste of money. I'm seriously switching to iPhone after this experience.
I literally pay $10 a month for the iPhone 13! $10 A MONTH - NOT REFURBISHED; NOT SLIGHTLY USED - BRAND SPANKIN' NEW!
