Apple really did incredible with this one. Although all iPod Nanos are discontinued, the 7th Generation is definitely the best one they made. The touchscreen is incredible as far as responsiveness, and it's decently bright when tuned up to the max. Also, the screen quality is super amazing, something Apple seems to never forget when creating these things. I got a refurbished one about a year ago, and it's still just like new. Music is great on it, but I wouldn't recommend putting videos on it, because watching them is like trying to watch a movie half a mile from the screen. Music videos are alright, though, as long as you don't watch them all the time. I personally don't use it for fitness, but if I did it probably would work just fine. It comes with Nike+, but you have to buy the accessories separately for it, like the foot sensor, heart rate sensor, etc. I'm amazed at how thin this device is. Apple said, "Our thinnest iPod ever". I believe it. It's about the same thinness as several pieces of paper, which is pretty incredible. The UI (User Interface) is similar to iOS (for those of you who don't know what iOS is, it's the iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch software), but it's lacking in the real feel because the apps aren't like Safari, Messages, iTunes, etc. In fact, they aren't really apps, they're just part of the software. Also, the most recent version of the software is 1.1.2. Apple won't update it further, but there aren't many bugs in the software currently, so it should be pretty stable. Overall, it's like having a mini-iPhone without the main features of a real iPhone. It sort of feels like one when you carry it around. I love love love it, even though I've had it for a long time, but it works really well. It's fast, dependable, and the battery life is ok, though Apple could have done better, but other than that, it's amazing. I fully recommend this if you can afford it.

I like the lightweight feeling, but ordered a case because I dropped it twice already and hate the smudges on the glass surface of my fingerprints. The Bluetooth works great on my Bluetooth portable speaker for at the beach. Not sure if I will ever use the fitness app, And the pictures are so small that it made me squint. But 16GB is double my old 8GB 5th generation ipod and I am happy. Since I use it for mp3 music and mp3 audiobooks, I probably could have purchased a $ 40.00 Sandisk MP3 player and been just as happy, But if you want thebest and latest " Wow" ipod, this unit meets the standards of new. (I just wish the DIY battery replacement was not rated as 'extremely difficult on this ipod)

Every ipod users should have this product

There's a lot to get used to. I've had an iPod Classic for years and this one is quite different, pleasantly so for the most part. I love the Bluetooth capability but could do without the Fitness, I'd rather have that space for other things. I do wish the memory was larger than 16G as it won't hold my complete library much less movies. My old Classic had 160G so having just 10% of what I'm used to is hard! I do love the small size and the controls are very easy to use. I'm really loving this new Nano! I'm finding I don't really miss the extra space the old one had. The main use is listening to music while I riding my motorcycle and with the blue tooth connection to my ear buds, it's actually easier to change songs/playlists, volumes, etc. as I ride. The extra items included in this package are also very nice. The charger works perfectly, for my Samsung phone as well as the Nano. The silicone case fits perfectly and all the controls work well. I do wish the screen protector was thinner but again, it fits perfectly to the screen. I would definitely recommend this bundle to anyone.

This little iPod is perfect for people who like to work out and listen to music. It does a few other things too, like track walking or running, and will play podcasts. The screen is so small, about 1 x 2 inches, that even though it will play videos, it's hard to imagine anyone watching a video on that size screen. It will not allow you to download apps. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that I record my own music on it. This is not commercial music, just what I record to learn to sing specific pieces of music. If I change a piece of music and keep the same name in iTunes, it will not download the new version to the iPod Nano. The new version is ALWAYS downloaded to iPhone and IPod Touch. Sometimes, a new version of a recorded piece upsets the iPod Nano so much that it refuses to sync. Then I have to reset it to factory settings (no big deal to do this) and reload music on it. For this reason, I only keep a minimal amount of music on it, say 200 - 300 songs. But for people who use it for commercially purchased music, it works fine. I've given Apple this information, but I don't think they care since it doesn't impact many users. I had to purchase a new iPod Nano since I lost mine.

Plays wonderfully & makes it possible for me to disconnect from everything (no phones or tablets) but still have music.I'll forever miss my Classic but this is a nice alternative. The color is nice (mine is blue), the sound is clear & the ability to add songs to a playlist on the screen is marvelous. I don't use some of the options but they would probably be quite helpful to someone else. The radio is actually not bad. It's easy to lose in a purse & I wish it were easier to get screen protectors but whatever. All in all, it's a good thing for those of us who really just want a dedicated music player that does nothing but play music.I would give it 5 stars but it lost one because seriously. The first one honestly did not have the part to make sound happen!

Music quality is great, but setup was a hassle.

First, I'd like to point out that I thought I was buying an 8th generation nano. I was told by the sales clerk that this was the latest model. I later had to get help with the setup of the Nano from Apple Tech support, and that's when I found out the Nano was actually only the 7th generation.Setup was a problem. As many iPod and iPhone users have found out in the past few years, when you hook the product up to a computer to download music/movies from iTunes, you get the error message saying iTunes can detect there's something there but it can't connect to it. I had to contact Apple tech support which meant opening a ticket and leaving a number for them to call me. They only provide tech support on weekdays, so I had to wait 2 days to get someone to help me. Wound up having to delete and reinstall iTunes and EVERY other apple program installed on my computer. Once that was done, iTunes detected the ipod Nano with no problem. The touch screen is very sensitive on the Nano, moreso than on an iPhone or iPad. Once Also, the audio suggestion feature came turned on from the factory, it took me a while to find the settings to turn it off. I recently purchased a Sandisk MP3 player for my father, and the setup was extremely easy. Had I known how much trouble setting up the iPod Nano was going to be, I would have purchased a Sandisk MP3 player for myself as well. BTW, this is my 4th ipod, and this is the first time I ever had any problem connecting to iTunes.Once setup is complete, I will say this...the music quality of the Nano is wonderful. The battery life while playing music is around 30 hours, which is pretty good. The Nano is lightweight and portable, easily fitting in a shirt or pants pocket. The FM radio function and blue tooth connectivity are also nice features. I stream music from the Nano to a Bose speaker at home, and over the sound system in the car. Using the FM function and the blue tooth connectivity run the battery down faster, so you won't get 30 hours of battery life if you use them.

For the most part I am satisfied with it although I miss the click wheel sometimes and definitely miss having games on it like the old ones. Why take them away? Also wish there was a way to adjust the backlight to stay on for say a minute at a time or something similar. My major gripe is that for reasons unknown this thing seems to randomly shut off all by itself which can happen in the middle of playing music while it being untouched or when you go to just hit the center home button and nothing happens? The only way to turn by on is to plug it in to power for some reason although one time I got it to turn back on by holding the power button for about 20-30 seconds. All times I had plenty of battery also. So not sure, I will probably take it back and possibly exchange or just get money back. Either way I am no pleased with this model at this time!

iPod Nano 7th Gen.

The good:I am glad to finally have Bluetooth on this. It works great and the sound is AMAZING with their matchless mixing and EQ quality! The mono audio feature (see: Settings>General>Accessability>Mono Audio On) is also great to use when you are listening in only one ear but don't want to lose the stereo quality sound of both ears (make sure to switch back when plugged into your car or listening to more than one speaker). All in all this is a great device with easy song transfer "drag and drop" and incredible sound quality. It also has a mic recorder if you have headphones plugged in with a mic built in. The podcasts are also great if you wanna hear a sermon or lecture without worrying about losing signal like you would with a phone. The bad:You can add songs to ... MoreThe good:I am glad to finally have Bluetooth on this. The podcasts are also great if you wanna hear a sermon or lecture without worrying about losing signal like you would with a phone. The bad:You can add songs to a new playlist, but you cannot name the playlist from the device itself, it has to be through iTunes plugged in (not convenient while in town or out and about), AND, if you are hearing a song you like and want to add it to a playlist (which you can't make up titled on the spot), you have to go out of the song back to playlists, scroll up and click "add", then go find the song and add it, instead of just being able to hold over the song you are currently listening to and click "add" to a playlist or make up one right there. This is something smartphones and other mp3's have been able to do for YEARS but Apple has ignored this convenience for all this time and acts like making it more complicated is somehow better and "different". That or, creating problems now and fixing them later on the next generation makes the next one look better? A simple download update could fix this today for all these Apple devices. To Apple I say, "update it to allow us to add>edit>title playlists right on the device and hold over the song to instantly add it to a current playlist or create a new playlist. That was my biggest complaint, my other 2 minor complaints is there is no physical 'song skip' buttons which come in handy while driving if plugged into car, to keep eyes on road or avoid having to turn screen on ( to skip songs without looking, you can hook it to Bluetooth device at same time it is physically plugged into car and use the skip button on your Bluetooth device, but it acts kinda buggy sometimes if you do). Also, I don't know why but when physically plugged into car sometimes it'll randomly skip a song in the middle of one, right when the awesome solo is about to start....lol.The verdict:As a musician, I am a sucker for great tone. Because the sound is so well mixed and it's so portable and light while running, it is still worth the inconvenient things mentioned above. Great battery life as well, so its awesome for parties through a sound system (having cell plugged in during party for music is inconvenient if it starts ringing! lol...) This is portable but also easily loseable, so I Velcroed this to my phone because I prefer it's tone and it's so tiny I don't notice it being attached lol. With an update for playlists and a physical skip button, this easily would've gotten 5 stars.*If you want the freedom of Bluetooth, but also great tone, a great complimentary headset for these I'd recommend is the LG HBS-800. The tone is really great, you hear all the highs and lows and background instruments you didn't know were there! There are many FAKES so buy from a store like Best Buy or Walmart (if online make sure they are the seller, not a 3rd party), I have tried two fakes and realized I wasted time and money and got the real thing and it was worth it! I use the "rock" EQ setting on the iPod Nano with these and it's a great combination!
