Apple MacBook Pro 16" with M4 Max Chip 48GB 1TB - Space Black

Excellent laptop. I am not a fan of Apple products but Adorama had this great deal and I just couldn't resist. They made it possible for me to get this. Beautiful screen and great specs. I wanted a laptop with at least 32GB of memory but don't need a large hard drive, so this was perfect. Magfage is back, great feature, but you can also charge through any one of the 3 x Thunderbolt ports. The power supply is 140W brick, alot of people say its huge but actually its pretty compact compared to others I have seen. This is a heavy laptop and I don't recommend it if you are going to be hulling it around. In fact I haven't used my television for almost 3 years now.However, my Desktop Computer System consumes a lot of electricity, and the price I am paying for electricity now is about 3.5 times as much as I was paying in March 2021. So I decided to buy a Laptop Computer to reduce my electricity bills substantially, and an Apple MacBook was the obvious choice after 13+ years of trouble-free computing using my Desktop System.I chose the MacBook Pro 16inch Laptop for the size of its screen, and the M1 Max version for its 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, and extra performance over the M1 Pro, and I have not been disappointed!IMO its 16 inch Screen is the best of any Laptop, and the quality of this 2021 Apple MacBook Pro 16", M1 Max Processor, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD model is everything I expected from an Apple product after my 13+ years of trouble-free computing using my Mac Pro Desktop System.Now I use this MacBook Pro almost all the time, and I never have to recharge its battery during the day, regardless of how many hours of browsing and streaming I use it for. As I expected, my electricity consumption has plummeted!Watching videos and films on its 16 inch screen is a pleasure, and IMO the audio quality of its integral speakers is the best available on any Laptop.I recommend this product unreservedly!

I bought the MacBook to replace a 2 year old mobile workstation (windows 11), so my comparisons might be a little biassed by that. I primarily wanted something quick enough for my work (engineering) but with a significantly greater battery life than my current computer.With regard to speed, it is significantly slower than my previous computer (9th Generation i9). It is also less stable, lots more hangs and crashes - but I'm happy to live with these as I'm certain they'll improve with software updates (not all software is native on the Apple M1 chip yet). Unfortunately there weren't any M1 Max machines available in the near-term, so I had to settle for a Pro.The screen on the apple is lovely, it's no clearer or brighter than my previous windows laptop, but the glossy coating seems to work better with the brightness turned town - so great for the battery.Portability was the main reason that I purchased this machine, and it's great in that regard. It's just a little smaller in every dimension than my other machine. It's great to have a MagSafe charger again, and the battery life is great, I can get about 5 hours use from a full charge vs 1 hour for my previous machine.This was a replacement MacBook, my first one broke within 2 weeks. JL technical support on-line were utterly useless, whereas technical support in my local branch were amazing.So to wrap up, I'm happy with the MacBook, it's slower than my windows previous machine and I question it's reliability, but it's significantly better for travelling and I can just keep the windows machine as a backup or if I need to do significant number crunching.and it's really pretty.
