Well designed, yes; Expensive, that too! If you want to have a full experience with an iPad Pro or Air, there's no substitute for this keyboard folio. The third-party products are not even close. The fully integrated design, software control, and versatility function like a laptop replacement that has pencil and touch capabilities. It takes me a long time to justify this $300 keyboard but once I have it, I can certainly understand and almost 'accept' its price. It may be a luxury to non-laptop users, but it is a must-have accessory for those who travel. The keyboard is very well made and sturdy. It does add quite a bit of weight to an otherwise feather-light iPad Air but during desktop or lap-top use as intended, the weight should not be much of an issue.

This is a great keyboard for my iPad Pro 11 inch. The typing experience is great and the trackpad is fluid with no issues. I have the black version of this keyboard for another iPad. The backlighting on the black version is easier to see. It's somewhat difficult to see the keys in medium to low lighting situations. I wanted to return it, but decided to keep it because I like how the brighter color give is a cleaner look. It's also easier to keep clean compared to the black version. The black version seems to get white smudge marks and fingerprints on it. I'm unable to see them on this version with it being white, and the same color as the light smudge marks.

This keyboard is truly incredible. Great build quality, backlit keys, the extra charging port. However....! One thing to know is that you CANNOT fold this keyboard behind the iPad like you can with the other Apple folio keyboard. It is basically a keyboard "dock" in which you must use in landscape mode only. This is the reason I ultimately returned the keyboard. For the steep price, buyer beware!
First of all, I was happily surprised that I didn’t have to snap in the iPad to the keyboard. I can easily pick it up on it’s own. It just magnetically adheres itself to the backdrop. Then easy to use, it can be adjusted to tilt the screen both vertically and horizontally also, I really LOVE that! I can leave the key side up to block the lighting (when hubby is sleeping) while playing games and it never gets in my way! I have the keyboard that lights up, a must for me since I use it in the dark while my spouse is sleeping. But I must say there are some keys they took off of it that I used to use a LOT. There is no turn sound up and down keys nor is there the keys I used to dim or turn up the lighting on the screen whenever I needed to quickly. Although, it was inconvenient having to carry a separate keyboard with my iPad, connect it, and have no trackpad. If you want to use both, you might want to consider a tech pouch or scouring the internet for iPad cases that have a pen slot. I am having success with a MOFT case right now, and I’ve even seen some product pages for metal plates that you place between the iPad and the cover to allow Pencil storage…
Pros: light weight, clean design. Folds up neatly with the keyboard tucked inside protecting the iPad screen. iPad keeps keyboard and Apple Pencil charged. Cons: the cover that the iPad sets in does not protect the corners of the iPad. Also, the iPad falls out easily from the cover. The keyboard is missing a row of function keys that control the brightness of the screen, different levels of lighting adjustment for the keyboard, volume control buttons and fast forward or back buttons when you’re watching videos; all important function keys that I am used to with my older Brydge keyboard. Returning the Apple Magic Keyboard, and exchanging it for a new Brydge keyboard.
I purchased the iPad Air (5th generation) and wanted to turn it into a small laptop so I went and and purchased the Apple Magic Keyboard to go along with it. The keyboard is just the perfect size and syncs up to my iPad Air easily. I wanted a white keyboard and this one fit the bill. I love the keys which are quiet and don't make a lot of noise. I could've purchased a cheaper keyboard but I wanted the quality that Apple products are known for. Plus, it matches nicely with my iPad Air, Like I mentioned before, it's just what I wanted, my own small laptop, lightweight and easy to take along with me anywhere. I am happy with my Apple Magic Keyboard 2nd generation, purchased at my local Best Buy store.
I am super happy with this keyboard case. I don't have to worry about charging it seperately with the iPad like I did with my old 3rd party keyboard case, and it just works well and seamlessly. The magnetic attachment is great, and because it holds it's hinged position on it's own it's better for use on airplanes, laps, etc where this is minimal surface space. The backlight is nice, and the trackpad works well. The only thing I wish was different, I wish there was some sort of mechanism to protect/hold the Apple Stylus. When the case is folded closed for transport, the stylus just stays on the exposed edge of the iPad magnetically like normal. But it can be easily knocked off.
