It's an Apple product, so I don't need the workarounds I need when using non-apple BT keyboards. It's sturdy. It feels solid when in typing position, and when holding up the screen in viewing position with the keyboard tucked away. This particular keyboard model has been in production for four years now, and Apple have definitely worked the kinks out. Note that it doesn't protect the back of the iPad; I applied a skin to eliminate scratches, but that won't stop dents. If back protection is important to you, there are back-only cases available that still permit keyboard attachment. Overall, I recommend.

I wouldnât if I were you. Itâs nice when it works, but give it a few months⊠it will start disconnecting randomly and not responding. The soft/flexible connection of the case means you are constantly stressing the inner hardware that is critical to this stupid thing working properly. Mine has had its glitchy moments ever since I bought it, but I thought thatâs just âhow it was.â Well, now it has completely stopped working, Apple will not repair or replace, and said my only option was to buy a new one. Why on earth would I buy another when Apple clearly doesnât even stand behind the product to start with? Google âiPad Smart Keyboard not connectingâ to see how common and well-known this problem is. Expensive, poorly designed trash.

This key board does not work like a typical computers keyboard. It stalls and it will not back up to delete each character. Yes, I tried another one and his might be the feature of the smaller IPads. Returned it to store ad the said that this one has had complaints abut it. Bought a different brand recommended b sales person in the store that would work with this apple Ipad and while it works better than the apple one, it too has breaks in itâs âflowâ of printing what I am typing. Trying to work with it before giving up and returning both iPad and keyboard! Disappointing.

Got it for my mom for when she needs to send long emails or fill out forms because she doesnt have a computer. I understand that the keyboard needs to connect to the ipad, but itâs not something she plans to use all the time, so she needs to remove her iPad case each time she wants to use the keyboard. Easy for me, a little trickier for my 72 year old mom. We also somehow forgot it was an Apple keyboard, which she has never even seen before, so we had to teach her the different shortcuts and such. Maybe someday theyâll be able to add some kind of basic trackpad to a future version. Overall it works and it gets the job done.
This is a lightweight keyboard. The price was a little more than I expected. However it works great. Covers and protects the device. Allows the ipad to stand up with the fold in the back. There is a way to stand it vertically. I only tried that once. I have accidentally dropped a few times and it protected the device.
I had the logitech keyboard which included a trackpad and other keys not included in the Apple one, but was very very inconsistent and eventually stopped working after a year. I purchased this one as a replacement, even thought it cost more. But this one is Apple, which means it *consistently* works, but it only works because you are forced to angle it in a certain way to make it work. If the logitech one did the same, mine would still be working! With that said, the keys feel a lot better than the logitech, but it is missing a crucial feature - the trackpad. Trackpad is incredibly useful to however over links without linking them. Third party seller, so I took a risk. Was shipped quite quickly, just as fast as Best Buy would ship. The item itself is a bit questionable. The product works, which is the main point to be made, but I do think that these were returned with flaws. Although my keyboard works, its not sitting the same way as my identical keyboard from Apple (same models). Itâs not worth the hassle of returning or waiting for a replacement, but I would definitely suggest buying from Best Buy directly or buying from Apple directly to make sure you dont get a âdudâ.
Great performance that other devices at this price range wonât even come close to. Itâs so smooth youâd never believe itâs running a processor design going on three years old. True Tone display and Touch ID are also nice features you probably wonât see the equivalent of on competing tables. The only thing to knock here is the non-laminated screen. It can be a bit of a drag on the writing experience.

The Logitech is better in every category and is hands down the ONLY choice for your Apple Ipad when looking for a keyboard and case.. The Apple keyboard is just lacking in every sense. ZERO protection for your Ipad. No trackpad...which is a surprisingly nice feature. Zero hotkey/function keys at the top. Both my wife and myself felt like the Apple was lacking in every way versus the Logitech. My wife uses her ipad for work everyday and LOVES the Logitech....and made me quickly return the Apple keyboard. I was disappointed that the associate that assisted me gave me the incorrect one. I needed the one that protects the back of my IPAD also. I ended up having to purchase another one via Amazon and can not return this one because I no longer have the box. When I returned to ask for help again, (this time I brought my son), the associate tried to blame it on the previous associate stating he put it on incorrectly and proceeded to try many ways and realized he didn't know how it goes on. The 1st associate installed correctly, it was just not the one I was supposed to have. Shame on the 2nd associate for playing the blame game and accusing another associate of not knowing how to do his job.
