I absolutely love my Apple Watch Series 7! It has been a game changer for my fitness routine. One of the best features is the built-in GPS, which allows me to track my runs and hikes with accuracy. The heart rate monitor is also top-notch, providing me with real-time data on my workouts. The fitness tracker has a variety of workouts pre-loaded, including yoga, swimming, and cycling. It even gives you personalized workout recommendations based on your activity levels. But the Apple Watch Series 7 doesn't just track workouts - it also helps motivate me to be more active throughout the day. I came to the Apple Watch from a Samsung Gear S3. While the Apple Watch does most things pretty admirably, offering fairly seamless transitions between screens and apps, it doesn't do some of the things that the Gear S3 could do. For instance, it took downloading a second app to be able to see the number of steps on the watch face instead of just the three 'activity' rings that don't actually tell you as much as you might want to know -- and it still doesn't give a live update on steps, catching up and refreshing every few minutes to give an updated number. Additionally, the battery life is significantly shorter, lasting about twenty four hours before it needs to be charged again. However, the display is large and clear, and the watch faces are extremely ... MoreI came to the Apple Watch from a Samsung Gear S3. Additionally, the watch bands are as easy to switch as sliding them in and out of a groove, as compared to the more traditional watch bands that require you to buy a special tool to change them out -- possibly a pro for some, a con for others, given that you're essentially required to buy Apple-tech specific watch bands. All in all, it does most of the things I need it to do, and it does them elegantly and with little fuss, but I still miss some of the features of the Galaxy. For something as expensive as the Apple Watch, you'd think this would be standard by now, but alas. Still, I would recommend it to others, but am disappointed enough that it's going to miss out on that fifth star -- for now.

I bought my watch to do a couple of things:1. Go running, listen to stuff without carrying phone. Score 6/10.Audible and Spotify work but sync process is tortuous and like something from 1980s. Taking an hour to sync an audiobook and somehow syncing the chapters I’ve already heard first and leaving the one I’m listening to till last really sucks.2. Track swimming and biking workouts. 3/10I had expected to be able to choose different metrics on the watch like a Garmin and see my workout plan saying swim 4x100m @1.30, or ride 5 minutes at 250w, with feedback or prompts allowing me to stop writing down the workout on paper. The native Apple workout app only acts as a very basic activity tracker, so I expected other apps to offer this. After looking at a few ... MoreI bought my watch to do a couple of things:1. For instance, the watch Strava app appears to have only the same functionality as a $10 bike computer showing time, speed and distance.3. Sync completed workouts to TrainingPeaks and Strava. This works. 9/104. Do the watch thing. 5/10. Yes it tells the time, but my mechanical watch runs 80+ hours without winding, whereas Apple runs about 30 or less if you use it. The other things the watch offers like notifications are also fairly useless as you need to use your phone to do more than just read them. It’s also highly irritating that the Apple comes with about 40 pre installed apps I can’t get rid of. Scrolling through these on a tiny screen to get to the ones I want is a pain.So overall, likely a cheaper Garmin watch would have fitted my needs much better. I had expected to be surprised and delighted in the same way as when I first got an iPhone, which is why I gave it a try, but so far this hasn’t happened.

This is my second watch from Apple in six years, my first being a series 3. I was able to easily transfer the set up of my series 3 watch to this watch and with options to set the series 7 up separately if desired. I find Apple Watch is to be very reliable and more durable than some think, however I would recommend a protective covering if you work outside or have a physical job such as carpentry, landscaping etc. The new 20 W charger provides a quick charge. I find the cellular feature very useful when my phone is not convenient to me. Apple has solid support and instructions on line if technically challenged or just wanting to know more. Health and exercise options/features a big plus. My only complaint would be Apple doe not supply the Micro USB-C adapter; ... MoreThis is my second watch from Apple in six years, my first being a series 3. The Apple Watch Series 7 (GPS + Cellular) 45mm is a versatile and feature-packed smartwatch. With a sleek design and a large, touch-screen display, it offers a great user experience. The watch is compatible with Apple iOS and watchOS, allowing seamless integration with other Apple devices. It supports mobile notifications, Apple Pay, and music playback. The built-in GPS and water resistance up to 164 feet make it suitable for outdoor activities. The watch excels in health and fitness tracking, measuring metrics like blood oxygen, electrocardiography, and heart rate. With a 1-year warranty and a stylish starlight sport band, the Apple Watch Series 7 is a reliable and fashionable companion for your daily adventures.
I happen to like the black band better than blue but the Watch has everything you could need. Why buy the 8 when the 7 has everything except tiny details that the 8 has. I tried the 45mm and 41 mm and I have to agree that the 45 is prettiest with the gorgeous larger screen size (if it fits your hand and doesn’t look like a tv on your hand) BUT it is heavier especially the graphite one, and it grabs a lot of attention and doesn’t hide smoothly under the cuff of shirts and jackets and seems to hit walls more.So the 41mm is the sweet spot as it is bigger than the 40mm and it has more screen size because the 7 has more screen usage than the 6 so you get more screen and it doesn’t get in the way of things.I’d love for there to be a 43 size but for now I think this is ... MoreI happen to like the black band better than blue but the Watch has everything you could need. So think if you want that but it looks shinier and feels more premium.
I was thinking about getting an Apple Watch for about 6 months. I’m not someone who makes purchases without thinking them through (especially when they are a few hundred pound too). I had a Huawei Band 6 Smart Watch, and it did everything that I thought I needed so didn’t want to spend all the money on an Apple Watch in case it didn’t do that much more… BUT WOW! This Watch is just fabulous and 100% worth paying the money for. It’s incomparable to other smart watches (I’ve had a few cheaper ones over the years). The main thing I use this Watch for is tracking long outdoor walks and exercise sessions, along with how many steps I do, calories I burn and hours I’m active each day. The fact that it has call, text, walky-talky, email, Apple wallet, sleep tracker, photos, maps etc etc (the list goes on) is just an added benefit. This has really helped me stay on track with my fitness goals and almost keeps me accountable as I can see how much I’m doing and I want to close those calorie and activity rings each day. The fact that you can set your own targets is also great - myself and my friends are all joined up in the sharing and can see what activity we are doing each day and it’s a great way of keeping each other motivated. Honestly, the best purchase I’ve ever made, and I can now understand why people go on about how great Apple watches are - I am now one of those people and know I will always have an Apple Watch from now on.
Fancy watch still years away to replace real sports and activity trackers.I have used fitbit and forbthe last 4 years Garmin vivoactive 3.Felt the need to have a more complete experience and risked trying the apple watch 7.Steps are inaccurate, activity is inaccurate, hear rate is inaccurate, its not a smooth link with garmin connect, nor strava, nor ride with GPS nor training peaks.Sleep, resting heart rate, etc is 100% a downgrade from Garmin Vivoactive. If you want to have a fancy watch where you can work your telefono and phone apps. Activity tracker, heart rate are still in very I mean very early stages.
I still was wearing my Apple Watch series 2 that worked well enough and did most of the things I needed it to, but I wanted to upgrade for SaO2 and ekg and few other apps. Plus my battery didn’t last quite as long as I needed it to. (Easy fix, to replace, but I wanted to upgrade). I chose a refurbished series 7 for price and I’ve had friends who purchased refurbished with no issues. Know that you need to be home to sign for the package (I didn’t realize that) or you’ll have to go pick it up at the delivery hub. The watch was packaged well. Condition looked great. First of all, I love when Walmart has a no-brainer deal. But all pricing aside, this is a very good quality watch from Apple. I think it was smart for me to buy the series 7 over the series 8 not just because of the money difference And the savings but because you really don't need the new features on the newer watch. The Bill quality is excellent. The screen size is very convenient especially when you wanna text, you can pull up a full-size keyboard. Everything else is typical Apple, but I'm just talking about those little details. Stainless steel is definitely better than aluminum if you can afford it. And it goes with my Gold iPhone 14 Pro Max. And as a voiceover user, I love the responsiveness. Thanks to The better processor coming from the series 4.
