I’ve used Arches watercolor paper for years. I’ve tried others to use for “practice” or journaling, but all have fallen short of the Arches standard. This, to me, is the best of both worlds—a great paper you can use for any watercolor project, whether serious or casual, without the high price of a sheet or a block. I feel free to experiment or just push paint around on quality paper without worrying that my first mark will “ruin” it and waste money. Great solution at a great price.

This is such a great size! Plenty of room to experiment but not so large it isn't easily transportable. Arches makes the best paper and having such a convenient size just makes it all the more enjoyable to use. #sweepstakes

I mean it is Arches what more can you say about the beautiful texture of the paper along with the amazing sizing within the paper. It is just a beauty to work on. I love the new spiral bound idea for their papers. Hope they come out with bigger sizes and definitely smaller sizes.

I have always loved Arches Watercolor Journals. This one is slightly different than previous years. It has a soft front cover vs. hard back cover. I prefer the hard cover myself. This new journal design is a bit flimsier, but same great paper you can expect from Arches. I'm happy with my purchase!
Excellent quality. Really like this size. Bought one years ago and had been waiting for them to return. Great absorption. Paper holds up well. I bought a few.
So excited to find these again. I am a sketchbook artist working primarily in watercolor and ink. They are wonderful paper that works well with water color. I like the spiral binding so it folds flat when I'm in the field. The size lends itself to lots of design formats and can easily accommodate text and watercolor for creating a travel journal. You can also use both sides of the page.I got my first one in 2005 and then Arches stopped producing them. I am so excited they are back!
I am really really loving this journal. It is a well thought-out size. Your can paint a smaller landscape as well as a portrait using this size journal. It is 100% cotton as advertised the same quality as the 100% cotton watercolor paper we all love. I use mine for several different reasons, I use it for practice for an online course I am taking, as a draft for of a larger painting I am planning and for daily painting exercises. Thank you Arches for producing a quality watercolor paper journal at a reasonable price.
It is appreciated that Arches is finally available as a 140# cold press paper journal, and made so that it lays flat when open. However,the size is awkward and a bit expensive. I hope they will offer sizes like 4x6" or 5x8" in the future.
It's like larger than others, with 140# arches paper, so I can paint in watercolor with success! (Many others are 80-110#, which warps with water!). It's also sturdy so it can handle rigors of travel, too! Superior product!
Love using Arches Watercolour paper, so having Arches Travel Journal cold press came in handy to take with me on travels. Love that it has a spiral binding makes it easier to open up on next page to start a new project without having to remove previous work and still have a flat surface to work on. I would recommend this product.
