This is an expensive, premium mid layer but completely worth it. I wore this skiing recently under a 3L shell and I never felt uncomfortable in temperatures of -10 to 3c. It’s small enough to pack away if temperatures increase higher. I’ll be using it when I’m hiking later on this year. The fit is perfect and stretchy enough to fit over layers. Probably the most useful outdoor clothing item I’ve bought.

This review is the the orange color. First off, the fit is amazing. I am 5'5", slightly athletic build and at 160lbs and it fit like a dream. Shoulders are squared off a bit, cuffed sleeves and roomy enough to accommodate a light layer while being snug enough for a trim profile. Kept me very warm to about 30F while staying active. The biggest drawback, big enough to make me return it, is that it is a stain magnet. While I try my best to keep my clothes generally in good condition, I am not one to baby anything. If you're the type of person who carries around a pencil eraser for their sneakers, maybe this is for you but for the rest of us, if this jacket comes into any contact with anything but clean water, it will stain. I have only had it for a little under 3 weeks and it already has stained in multiple places. So at best, this is much more of a casual jacket for someone who can avoid getting jackets dirty at all cost (at least this burnt orange color).

Got this for our Banf/Vancouver winter trip. Two layers is all I needed. T-shirt and this amazing jacket. Outside temp is 30s in daytime, this jacket is perfect for hiking and sightseeing. There is a tightening strap for hoodie and waist area to prevent wind from coming in. Best part is it folds nicely into the hoodie when not in sure. Takes up almost zero space.

I had an older model that was sent to Arc'teryx for zipper repair. Long story short, after a year they had no idea what happened to that and sent me a new one. The new model has armpits that are really high and uncomfortable (and definitely wouldn't support wearing a sweater or some mid-layer underneath it). That maybe great for the avid outdoorsman, but not great for the vast majority of us who throw this on to run errands on a Saturday or even go to work. The people I've dealt with are great - and the company makes great products for sure - but I'm just surprised by the incredibly slow process, and the fact that they lost my jacket or whatever - that's just inexcusable!
This jacket has exceeded my expectations. The fit is perfect. I’m very particular about the way my clothes fit. The fit is slim but still has plenty of room to layer and move. Also, the jacket is light but warmer than I expected. Works in 30 degree weather, but also good in 50 degree environments.
Despite a couple of it's mis-givings, it was a no-brainer to replace my 5 year old Atom LT jacket with another. No other insulated top I've ever worn before is as light yet warm, and offers complete freedom of movement. It's my everyday wear jacket through the winter. The jacket, rather than the hoody, in black, dresses up nicely with the taylored cut to wear with my slacks and dress shirt for work. But I've also used it on 4 day back-country hikes and under ski-shells.It's still going strong but I ordered another because it is starting to pill up on the collar "lapels" from whisker stubble rash and across the chest from my seat belt. Sadly, the trade-off may be that the light, airy feel of the jacket would probably be lost somewhat if they used a more durable ... Arcteryx needs to be called out and shamed for moving most of their production to China yet keeping their prices as high or higher - SO THAT COST THEM A STAR. Fortunately Altitude marked this item down after Christmas to a price I could swallow. Lastly, an embroidered size tag would be helpful since the printed one wore off and I ordered my usual M. This jacket fits very snug. I left a bigger footprint by having to send it back for a L. Avoidable had I been able to read the tag on my current jacket.
Love Arc'teryx in general, but over the years, have come to hate, yes hate, their make believe names for colors. Just call it what it is. It's ridiculous the number of reddit threads that have arisen due to the fact no one can tell the color tone on websites, and they use terms like the name of a bird for a color.Additionally, a white lining on the collar of the "Forage" (another dumb AF name for a color) is misplaced for a coat like this, unless you never plan on doing anything active (which arcteryx is probably pandering to the lulu soccer mom contingent these days)These color way titles are faux creativity and it's just boring and irritating.
The Arcteryx brand is equated to the best in class. This jacket doesn't disappoint when it's in use. The flexibility of this jacket spans the entire seasonality of the year. It's perfect for spring and fall because it is light and keeps you warm for the active person. For the summer, it is an item that out performs the change of weather when you are faced with drastic changes when hiking. As for the winter, light and when paired with a fleece and a down vest, it can keep you warm with the appropriate layering. This Atom LT jacket is a must for the active person who lives life on the fly. Stay warm....
My husband got this for me for Christmas in Moonlit. From the get go there were issues with staining. Some drops of hand sanitizer got on this jacket and it took oxyclean and 3 washes to get it out. No matter what i did the smallest drop of anything has stained it. Never in my years of wearing outdoor jackets in the PNW have I encountered such poor quality in a high end jacket. I sent photos and an inquiry to Arc'teryx customer service and they said that it's not covered under a limited warranty, so I'm stuck with a jacket that won't stand up to even daily use/elements. Their answer was not helpful and they lost 2 customers today. For such a high end product I expect at least good customer service. They didn't even offer me advice for getting the stains out. Some are giving bad reviews to the Atom LT, but I’ve had nothing but luck with the quality of materials and workmanship from Arcteryx. I own 4 different LT jackets and they have all held up to years of use in camping, hiking, and regular outdoor use. As for the warmth, I can’t speak for anyone but me, but it’s kept me incredibly comfortable through multiple sub 30 degree experiences when active. It’s not a “sitting around” jacket, so when I’m less active in the cold I will layer the Atom LT vest or a fleece pullover under it and its comfortable. No one jacket does everything well: the Atom LT is great as part of a layering system. It’s light weight and packability make it a must-bring, there is adequate room for an athletic cut layer underneath it, and I love how ...
