Compact and superlight, the Arc'teryx Atom W women's insulated sleeveless vest easily stashes in your pack, ready to grab when summer temperatures drop. Worn as a mid layer or standalone, this insulated vest delivers moderate insulation perfect for early morning runs and taking in the view from a freshly bagged peak. Its Tyono 20 fabric balances breathability and wind resistance, and the Coreloft synthetic insulation is light, compressible and efficient, even when wet. Lightweight stretch fleece side panels improve ventilation and hold the fit. Layering is the key of keeping you dry, warm and using your energy efficiently. Put into the right systems, a good sequence of layers moves moisture away from your skin, conserves or dissipates heat and provides you with weather protection. Here they are. The first layer, worn next-to-skin will provide warmth and quickly move moisture away from your skin. Then, the second layer, is the insulation and fleece, that provides warmth while also dissipating heat during periods of high output. And finally, the third layer, the shell, which is the most weather-protective layer, worn on the outside of all other layers.

I have ordered two sizes of this vest and returned both. This is not made for a woman. The fit is completely off. I've previously owned two of these vests and just wanted to purchase one in black also. The small size, which is what I own now, is too large. I read reviews and ordered the XS. It's too small in the hip area. The collar is too tall and my neck and chin get lost in there. I don't know why they changed a good thing, but it's not the same. I won't purchase it again.

The Atom Vest has been a staple of mine for over 12 years and I have purchased at least 3 of them after I have worn them to a nub. When I bought this revised vest I thought I would like the higher collar, but it is too high. It really comes up to my mouth, so only does it look unstylish, but also not functional. I also, am not sure I like to longer length, but I'm also only 5'1", so I'm guessing most people would like this change. All in all, it is still a great vest, but I wish they would find a compromise on the collar length and also the length of the vest. I use to buy XS, but with this new design and revised sizing I had to exchange for an XXS.

I saw a friend with this vest and I thought it would be a good fit and mid-layer for work, driving or hiking. I do not like sweaters because they are difficult to wash. I can wash this vest, throw it in the dryer and I am done. I use this as my mid-layer. I got this vest especially becaue it had no sleeves and it provides me with so much movement while driving in winter. I can wear only this vest as an outer layer for the Spring and Fall.

The Arc’teryx Atom Vest Women’s is a versatile and high-quality item that offers exceptional comfort and functionality. My overall experience using it has been excellent, as it provides the right balance of warmth and breathability, making it perfect for various outdoor activities. The design and fit are also impressive, ensuring a stylish and comfortable wear. I highly recommend the Arc’teryx Atom Vest Women’s for anyone looking for a reliable and well-made outdoor vest.
Bought this for daily wear as well as another layer for my outdoor activities, and found that while the quality seems to be what I'd expect, the fit is really off. I found that compared to my other Arc'teryx tops/jackets that this runs large. I wish that I would have sized down to a small! I wear a medium in all other styles, but this is gigantic. Wish I had not removed tags and worn it a bit before noticing how much bigger it was than expected. Nice for a light vest layer, but size a full size down at least. Boxy, large.
I bought this vest for work initially (I’m an ER nurse). I liked how lightweight it was, while still keeping me warm. The updated version also has an inside pocket now, which is where I like to keep my pen, phone, and other small medical gear. The best thing about this vest though is that I can use it for work and leisure - plan to do some travelling in the future, and its perfect for layering. The only downside is the fit. It feels like it was made for a taller slender person. I am neither, but am glad that I can cinch the bottom. It works!
After wearing for 1 season, the back outer fabric is damaged: puckering and pilling. Simply from wearing a backpack to and from campus. This should not happen. It’s a 2020 model in the beautiful blue color, which is not replaceable. I’d love to get it warrantied but the current colors are unimaginative.
I'm not sure if it's quality control or on purpose but I'm swimming in this vest compared to the SL version. Both in XXL. The shoulders are too wide, stick out past shoulders and gives a boxy look. Bizarre that the same fit and size are dramatically different between the two weights. Too bad must return. When they fit, these are the best vests I have worn.
I never really considered myself a vest person until I tried the Atom Vest. I tend to run quite warm during high-output activities, and this vest is the perfect midlayer for me, whether I'm cycling, skiing, or just hanging out. I appreciate the sleek look of the Black color. The collar is a bit tall, but I don't mind it; it offers extra protection when I need my midlayer to keep me warm.
I’ve had two other iterations of this vest from years past but lost mine and snagged a new one this season. I was super confused when I tried it on. Not only is it way less soft than the old one- almost a plasticky, crinkly feel- but it is HUGE. I double checked the tags to make sure I’d gotten a women’s because it was such a noticeable difference. Not only that but it’s a solid 2” longer than the old one so it’s almost a tunic on my 5’3” frame instead of hip length. I bought it on prodeal and am super kicking myself as I can’t return it.
