I absolutely love my Arc’teryx Rho Lt baselayer. It’s as warm as any merino wool garment, it’s warmer, it wicks, and fits well. These gloves are the most important piece of gear in my bag minus my camera. Running around in the winter months can be daunting as a photographer where your hands are either always exposed, or you need to constantly take your gloves on and off. These gloves are just warm enough to use my camera constantly in cold weather. When the temp gets around 10 degrees, I try to throw a warmer on each side of them and they hold in pretty well. Using the buttons on my camera is no issue, ever. However, using touch screens sometimes isn't easy. I have had three pairs so far, and even my first ripped to shreds pair is useful to me. Honestly, I prefer it when the tips of the fingers eventually rip from heavy use as it allows me to still keep my fingers warm while also being able ... Please don't stop production ever! Smartwool gloves, along with other brands, while thicker and more resilient, have given me issues in the field and even caused me to drop equipment before. These things are just a warm extension of your own hands. Use them for their pros and protect from their cons. I upgrade every year.

I was looking to upgrade to a higher quality glove for cold weather. After some research, what I decided to go for was a separate liner and glove combination. The balance I was striving for was an outer glove that was relatively thin, form-fitting, and waterproof, but did not sacrifice to much with regard to warmth.These Rho gloves were by far my favorite choice for a liner. I unfortunately lost one of the Rho gloves in February so I can not give a now 8 month review to see how the deterioration wold have progressed. I contacted Arc'Teryx to see if I could get a single glove replacement. As I expected they could not since I bought them at a local REI store, but they provided me a discount code to purchase a new pair. Their customer service is amazing by the way.I love the style and fit of all Arc'Teryx's products. I own Solano and Cerium LT Hoody puff jacket.

I bought these to wear at work - our store runs very cold and we keep the doors open all day regardless of the temp! They are super comfy and warm - nothing beats merino wool.I ended up taking them on a backcountry/splitboarding hut trip in Canada, using them as glove liners, and boy am I glad I did. With all the uphills we did, my hands were way too warm in my insulated gloves, so I used these. They made it much easier to transition, and, as they advertise, even when my hands got wet, these continued to keep them warm. I wore them every day for 9 days (8 in the backcountry, one on resort). The coldest day out there, I forgot my insulated mittens, which made me nervous, and at times, my fingers got cold with all the snow and wind, but no special trips back to the ... Because they are woven, they did not last 3 days in the backcountry before the first 3 fingertips on each glove had holes. Then again I don't think they were designed with durability in mind. Either way, these shouldn't cost so much, considering the lack of durability.2.) The fingertip sensors do not work. I ended up ripping them off and would just get my fingertips wet (they stayed warm, after all!), which worked just fine.

Under some thick wool gloves they're quite effective at cutting the wind. I wish they were a little more elastic, as the fit isn't amazing, but I have relatively long slender hands, so they probably fit others a little better. The touch screen tips are slightly annoying since they're a little stiffer and the glove material is so flimsy, but they work well enough, and I'm always happy to have them on a liner when I need to quickly interact with my phone. I notice the cold on my wrists more than on my fingers, so I loved the long snug collars of the Gothic (the Rho is cut differently, and is looser around the wrist in the same size).
With my old gloves wearing out it was time to pick up a new pair. A friend recommended Arcteryx and, although I have only worn them for little more than a week, the upgrade was, in hindsight, a no-brainer. They are comfortable, my hands are warm again, and having the ability to use my camera and iPhone without removing them is a huge plus. Couldn’t be happier
I used these all last season for cold weather mountain runs and they really worked good for me. I keep them up front in my running pack strap compartment balled up as a pair so I don't loose one. I can slip them on and off quickly to keep my hands comfortable. What I like the best is they breath very well so my hands don't get all clamby. Also they are small and light so I can take them with me even on days that you wouldn't normally need gloves but when you get above treeline and it's colder than expected these will save the day. I can't understand the bad reviews on these mine are in great shape with a year of heavy use. These are perfect for the non technical miles when I'm running hot but need something to just keep the nip off my skin. I have also used them as liners in the extreme cold although I really don't like the feeling of wearing two pairs of gloves so I don't do this very often I really like them best as a stand alone non technical warming glove. They would also would be perfect for long road running miles in cold weather. The sensor pad works fine for me I only use it here and there to snap a pic ect on my phone I think if you had a pair that was too big for you the sensor might move to the wrong spot mine fit me good so I haven't had any trouble with that. The stitching on my pair is still in perfect condition. I really like these gloves alot I use them more often then any of my other gloves !
I got these gloves just before XMas.Not what I was expecting. These are too thin and really not doing much.It’s been only a few months and with very minimal use, I’ve noticed that touch-screen pads started to separate.Very poor quality. I definitely won’t recommend. Go for the next level up.
The Rho Gloves gives good insulations throughout my winter runs. They were especially useful during night runs when temperatures in Australian winters were single digits. The touch pads on the index finger could be more tactile, as I found that I had to remove my glove when interacting with my phone during the run, as my phone wasn't detecting my touches.Overall, the Rho Glove was able to deliver on most aspects of what it provides, and I was satisfied with this purchase.
